What's great about it: Worked right out of the box
What's not so great: Screen can be reflective outdoors

"This machine worked right out of the box. No set up. Memory is excellent. It comes with 2gb, I had 24 programs open, mostly office programs and it still ran great. I upgraded to the full 4gb an son of ***** even better. I had 32 programs open an it didn't even phase it. I would recommend this laptop to anyone. Comes with some good programs, and Toshiba offers some really good programs free online for download. Accounting software works excellent on this. MS office is runs excellent on this machine.
All programs work excellent.
Fast. Sound is decent for speakers the size of a thumbnail.
Lightweight, meaning it is not heavy at all about 6 pounds.
Decent battery life. Toshiba says 2.5 hours I can get 3.
Perfect machine for anyone. I highly recommend this machine.
Excellent value for the price. I have only used laptops since 1998, and this is by far my favorite. Oh just buy it already will ya!"

What's great about it: screen, batery life, lightweight, vista, speed, features, ease of use, and everything else!!
What's not so great: nothing!

"i got this just under two weeks ago, and i love it. its light weight, huge screen. easy to use, great battery life, excellent wifi connection, and i love how it installs software for things when you plug it in, for example, i plugged in my new printer, and it installed it for me. i love this thing, and would reccomend it to anyone. at first, i was skeptical about the price and quality, but its just as good as a well known computer, like sony. its great, and i am amazed by how great it is. if you are considering to buy it, just buy it today!!!! its a GREAT, GREAT computer!!!!"

"I looked at many laptops online and I was not so sure about purchasing this because of the price. I was worried that this laptop would not be adequate....however, after looking over the reviews I bought this in March. I have been very happy with this computer, it is easy to use for home and work. It picks up wireless connection easily when I am not at home. The wireless router I installed in my home connected to this computer without a hitch. The extra programs I did not want I removed right away. The speed is great surfing the internet, email, updating websites for work etc and getting used to using VISTA was not a problem. I would recommend this to friends and family. Great laptop for the money!"

What's great about it: Light, great value for the price, expandable memory
What's not so great: No webcam / mic, processor is underpowered (expected)

"The unit is a great value for the price. It performs all basic computing tasks within acceptable parameters (internet, e-mail, word processing, etc.). The battery is comparable to some mid- to high-grade notebooks if run on power-saver (approximately 2.75 hours of light use). The ability to expand the memory from 2 GB of PC2-6400 to 4 GB is fantastic (and most laptops are still running at PC2-5300).

The only warning worth mentioning is that this is not meant to be a top of the line computer. Any heavy media use or multitasking will not meet expectations due to the processor and lack of upscale built-in video processing."

What's great about it: Lightweight, fast, great brightness and graphics
What's not so great: Battery dies quickly, a little large

"I have had this laptop for about a month now and have had no problems with it. I only use it for basic daily functions (word, excel, email, itunes, some web games, dvd) but it works great. I was worried the single core would be slow but I haven't had any issues while multitasking or gaming. The display is great, bright and clear. I travel often and it is a bit large, but it's light so carrying it with me isn't unbearable. I wish that the battery lasted much longer than it does, but for the price I can't complain. And even tho the battery dies fast, it also charges back up just as quickly."

"At first i was skeptical about buying this computer because of all the reviews but when i bought it i was surprised about how LIGHT and DURABLE it actually was..I take this thing everywhere i go to school, on the airplane and no matter what people will always try to find something little wrong but you can't beat this price the only downfall is that i wish it had a webcam but other than that a great first computer."

What's great about it: The laptop is good for light use (not heavy applications), great price!
What's not so great: I wish it had a built-in webcam.

"I bought this for my parents who use their laptop mostly for daily emails or Skype calls and chats, and e-news. They don't need heavy applications like Photoshop or the like, so this laptop is nearly perfect for them, except I wish it had a built-in webcam!

The computer is fast, light weight, nice design (clean and tidy), and I like the silver paint.

The price is great too! It is one of the most attractive factor for this laptop. This is a notebook, not a netbook, but the price is almost the same as a netbook.

Overall, I would reccommend this laptop for my friends."

"well im back on my other lap top and this new lap top that i had bought has been a pain me and another family bought one had to take hers back the day after we bought it and they said it was the mother board. now a few days later i have to take mine back! i really am scared about them giving me another one, maybe the cheap price means cheap made!!!!!!"

"Without upgrading the memory yet , I removed the Norton Anti-Virus and installed Kaspersky. The associate at the store tried desperately to steer me towards the Asus and away from this model because "it is a slow single core processor and cannot multi-task in Vista".

I have run Autocad 2004 MAP, PDF Convert, Internet explorer, Excel and Word all at the same time without issue. I wonder how "slow" it will be when I upgrade to 4GB of Ram and double the memory?

If you want a great laptop for any type of use at the lowest price, buy this laptop. The battery runs for 3 hours , if that is not long enough you are too far away from a power source lol.

This is a FIVE STAR VALUE!"

"This computer is great for the price. The only thing is the memory is not enough. I personally went to a local computer store(not big name retailers) and purchased 4gigs of ram for under 60 bucks and upgraded the ram on the computer. Computer runs great. I suggest you do this. Installing RAM is such an easy way to upgrade your computer, easy too, anyone can do it. About the only thing I dislike about this computer is the short battery life, but I can deal with that."

"I have had this laptop for about 2 weeks and love it. I have never had one before so I didn't know what to expect. The biggest complaint I have seen has been battery life, I just keep my charger handy, after all it is a battery and as in any device, they run out of juice.Could not be happier and the price was great!!!!"
