Resistance: Retribution is a really good action-shooter game for the PlayStation Portable.
What I liked about this game was that it went back to its roots and felt more like Resistance: Fall of Man and that it tried to stay away from Resistance 2 - thank goodness!
The storyline makes sense, doesn't go all over the place, and is not boring. The non-regenerative health bar has made its return, making levels more challenging but not frustrating.
However, I do not like that aiming has to be used with the buttons. Having played the first two Resistance games and many other first-person shooters, I definitely had a hard time getting used to the aiming scheme. There is enough space on the PSP system for a right stick, but Sony, like almost any other business-hungry company out there, most likely wanted to save "improvements" for a future next-gen system (which is now, as of this date, the PlayStation Vita).
The in-game audio quality can also be a bit sub-par at times unless a cutscene is playing.
Overall, Resistance: Retribution is a good game to have in your PSP collection.

What's great about it: Crazy Long (for a PSP game), GREAT Sound (if you use headphones)
What's not so great: Control Scheme Takes Some Getting Used To
This game, like its PS3 counterparts, is nothing short of amazing! While graphically inferior to the PS3 versions (obviously), what Insomniac HAS managed to achieve on the PSP's small screen is impressive nonetheless! Resistance:Retribution is a game best played with high-quality headphones- the soundtrack and sound effects (particularly the voice acting) is some of, if not THE, best on the PSP! So much is lost through the PSP's tiny speakers that it almost isn't worth it to have them unmuted. As for the storyline, this sidestory of the Resistance world takes cues from the Resistance storyline, it really earns its little place in the timeline. Long for a PSP game, it really is amazing how much of a story they manange to convey on such a little disk! It really almost felt like a full-length game wedged onto the thing! My only gripe is with the control scheme. 3rd-person perspective really is a trick to pulloff on the PSP, and even with the auto-aim option (which I left OFF for the sheer challenge) it just feels a little less refined than two analog sticks, but what can you do? In any event- Resistance:Retribution is a sure-fire hit for any PSP owner (and don't forget to link it up to Resistance2 for round 2!). Its a shame though that most people won't get to experience this fine piece of work due to the PSP's relatively small audience...

It has easy controls to learn, has a really awsome storyline that always keeps u interested, has awsome online play. the game itself is alot of fun and i cant wait till they make sequals because i would buy them all.

What's great about it: story line,weapons,graphics,MULTIPLAYER!!!
What's not so great: enemies repeat
Its great shooting game if u play it without Aim Assist and on Medium/Hard level.Story line is great,really interesting because at some points you think the game is going to end and it doesn't,it gets even better.Weapons are good,there is 2 levels to each weapon (stronger and faster in a 2nd level) but the only thing I didn't like about this game is that the enemies repeat in all levels and there is no headshots in 90% of enemies.The multiplayer is the best feature! Just create free account,join/make clans,create or host games.And there is always lots of people online,so you will never get bored.So go get the game now and have fun!

The only complaint I have is that there are some cheap deaths from time to time. Other than that, I think everyone who's enjoyed the series should givethis a try.

What's not so great: it's really hard, unless you can move to the buttons really fast!
this game is awsome!!!!! the second i got it i new that it would be cool, but it is somewhat hard, unless you can move your hands really fast to the buttons. but overall awsome story, graphics and no oroblems with the game. (except i can't beat one of the levels)

The next installment of the resistance francsie. Its a great offer to the PSP. They pushed this engine as far as it could good. The results greatness. I just recently started playing and its awesome. Check it out.

What's great about it: Story, Level Designs, Graphics, Weapons
What's not so great: nothing
Starts off great and keeps getting better. The guys that did Syphon Filter for the PSP did this game. The controls are almost identical but I enjoyed Resistance Retribution much more. If you are a fan of the Resistance PS3 games or Syphon Filter games for PSP you will love this game. I like that you can carry a multitude of weapons unlike in R2. There is plenty of ammo available and tons of things you can blow up which come in handy with the amount of Chimera constantly attacking you. The story line is a nice addition to the Resistance franchise. The gameplay is extremely addictive. As far as graphics on the PSP go, this game has high production values. I highly recommend this game to action/shooter fans.

It starts of good and keeps you going. Nice graphics and storyline. A must buy if your a war type person. But it's fun for any type of video gamer.

What's great about it: good story line, Awesome multiplayer, good weapons
What's not so great: waiting for some games to start but thats only like a minute
The story line connects the two really fun ps3 games and gives you some of the weapons from both of the games (with connect of course)!!! The multiplayer is very fun to and during games and even before you can talk to people on your team.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Best demo I have ever played Im kinda mad its not out yet but the multiplayer supposed to be tite.
