What's great about it: It's Pearl Jam - Everything is GREAT about it!
What's not so great: ......
Everthing about this box is awesome. The quality of the remixes, the unreleased stuff, the cassette, the composition book, all the extras. There is a lot of detail included with the box. The vinyls sound amazing, and I can finally watch unplugged with the clock in the middle of the screen (you hardcore fans know what I am talking about). I would recommend it to everyone who has an interest in Pearl Jam and likes to have background information about where thay cam from.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: All of the extra stuff, very neat packaging, its Pearl Jam
What's not so great: N/A
I might be a little bias in this review since I think that Pearl Jam is the greatest band of all time, however I tried to see it from an outsiders point of view.
If you are not a fan of Pearl Jam, I would not recommend this version of the Ten re-issue, there are smaller less expensive versions that would better fit the taste buds of those of you who are not Jamheads!!!
However, if you are a fan, this deluxe edition has everything plus the kitchen sink, CDs, DVD, LPs, pictures, etc... I would have easily paid more for this considering everything that comes with it and would not have thought anything less about it.
Here's to hoping that they do this with their other albums as well...

"Ten" is my favorite album of all time. It seemed a bit pricey initally, but after reading about all of the extras in the deluxe edition, I'm definitely going to pick this up next Tuesday.

What's great about it: Great chance it will be autographed by the band
What's not so great: There is a chance it won't be autographed
How would you like to have a replica tape of the infamous original Pearl Jam Ten session? Yes - it's the Seattle to San Diego to Seattle connection that forever changed the musical world. The 3 songs on the tape were powerful enough to change a band's name from Mookie Blaylock to Pearl Jam. If you buy this package, then you receive what's listed, including a replica of that legendary tape. This is great value for only $150. What makes it worth the money? All the great memorabilia, the tape and the potential for official autograph.
However, for a casual fan, a less expensive package without all the goodies may be more appropriate. But, any person who has ever enjoyed Pearl Jam's music owes it to themselves to purchase the new, remixed version of one of the greatest rock and roll albums in history, and the best rock and roll album of the 1990s, hands down! You've gotta go get this one. Wow!!

What's great about it: The music and the music extras, as well as the performance DVD.
What's not so great: The price - you're not getting value for your money, no matter what the diehards may say.
I love the band - I own all the studio albums, their solo CD's, their DVD's and several of the live CD's (there's just too many to own them all). I will likely get the scaled-down 2 CD/1 DVD version for $30, but to ask a fan to shell out anywhere from $125 to $200 retail for this version in this economy is absurd (shame to U2 as well for their upcoming release). Of course, no one is forced to buy this version, but my point is that it's hypocritical for a band like PJ to be hawking an item like this when they're supposed to be championing the cause of the average fan, but then again so was Springsteen and everyone saw the negative feedback he received for a simple "best of" exclusive to another retailer.
So the average core PJ fan who faithfully buys every one of their albums will be shut out of several recordings exclusive to this set, rarities that include PJ's first demos and a live show. What's more, they're not even including the music videos from this album, which has been standard on re-releases such as this by other artists. As good as, no as GREAT as the album "Ten" itself is, I can't consciously give this packaging of it a good rating.

i hope to buy this on day one.. ive been a pearl jam fan since back in the day... these guys are legends.. the collectors material included in this edition is exceptional! the price is crazy but for what is included i guess it makes sense.. i even heard there was a vial of eddie vedders blood with this edition.. im not sure if thats true.. may have been a rumor!
