What's great about it: I love the warming drawer, and the extra burner! not to mention the convection oven!!!!
I must admit it was daughter who told me that I "needed" a convection oven. She was right!! The cookies are so crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside that I can't believe it!
I love the extra burner, not to mention the speed boil for my cup of tea when I get home from work!
Now I have to get a refrigerator to match!
This product is or has... High-powered burners, A clear see-thru window, A large capacity, Easy to use controls, Easy to clean

What's great about it: It's an overall great stove for the price
What's not so great: The black ceramic top is hard to keep smudge free
Replaced my old ceramic top with this model...this model has it all but the devided oven feature. Love the heating drawer option. Only draw back is that the top is totally black and hard to keep smudges off the surface. my old one had more speckled finish was so easy to keep clean....other than that I just love it.

What's great about it: Easy to use.
What's not so great: Must clean to after every use. (not always a bad thing)
Use cooktop everyday. Use oven for cooking and roasting. Have yet to use for baking and broil meat. So far so good. We are pleased with our purchase.

What's great about it: Its looks. It is a good looking range.
What's not so great: Impossible to keep clean.
We fell in love with this range when we saw it at Best Buy. It has great looks and seems like it would be a great buy, however, it is a nightmare. It is a pain to keep clean. You would think that the flat surface would be coated with something to prevent grease from sticking to it. It is almost impossible to clean! Also, some soup spilled and got in between the glass INSIDE the door. It is impossible to clean! Literally!!!!!! Now it looks like cr@p!!!! What a huge dissapointment!!!!

What's great about it: able to cook aj turkey and 2 other big items on top same time
What's not so great: convection oven is slower than regular bake
the oven is nice and big . can fit a big turkey and cook to other big dishes at same time.only negative right now is the oven convection is a slower bake. the convection on the top of stove is a very fast bake so this saves time in the kitchen and meals are completed much quicker in everything on the stove. really like the sizes of pans that go on top of the stove its custom fit to pan sizes have not used the oven cleaner yet but, i will make sure to put water in the oven when cleaning steam as it recommendeds or you could ruin your stove window. looks pretty with stainless matching acessories

What's great about it: Quick to heat up
What's not so great: Requires the top to be clean after each use to keep its looks
I knew nothing about electric stoves (as to what was a good stove or not for the money). After reading many reviews, from different sources, Samsung was the one that seem to get the most praise. I was not disappointed. The stove heats up quick, brings water to a boil as fast, if not faster than a gas stove (which what we replaced). The oven is very spacious with a large glass oven door for viewing. The burner top is what drew the most complaints, but if you stay on top of cleaning after use, it is a minor issue.

What's great about it: Convection feature, fast-heating cooktop
What's not so great: Oven slow to heat up, cooktop shows every spot
We purchased this range to match our Samsung refrigerator. After just two years, it is no longer preheating properly, taking 45-plus minutes to reach 350 degrees. When I contacted customer support, their advice was to preheat to 500 degrees and then lower to my desired temperature. Also, while the stovetop performs well, it has a smooth black finish, which shows every tiny water spot. If you have lots of spare time on your hands for cleaning the cooktop and waiting for the oven to preheat, then this applicance is for you.

What's great about it: Nothing great (I mean it's only an oven)
Have had the oven for about 2 weeks. Cooked our Thanksgiving turkey without incident. Great large size oven & window. So far only negatives are
- Stovetop stays hot/warm for a very long time after shutdown. Boiled water for a cup of tea and 30 min later the burner was still significantly warm to the point where I would have burned my hand had I left it on the top for more than 10 seconds
- No indicator as to which burner is on - only a single light for all elements
- Cooktop doesn't shine up as well as my old Kitchen Aid
- Knobs seem cheap
Am hoping that the stove lasts long enough to be able to write some good reviews

What's great about it: Awesome to have so many heating "size" choices. Great at heating!
What's not so great: Haven't found a negative about the product.
Very happy to have purchased the Samsung Stove/Oven. The burners will come in very handy during the holidays. Special 5th burner is a "warming burner" - GREAT feature. The oven is very large and able to handle multiple items for baking.

What's great about it: Everything! I wish I had it years ago.
What's not so great: The oven racks are a little "tilty" when fully extended.
I have had this Range for about 3 weeks now and I just LOVE IT! I was really afraid of it when I purchased it and first used it because of all the reviews about how hard it is to keep clean and how easily it scratches. I have found that it absolutely shows splatters much more than my old coil range with the white top. It just made me realize how little I actually cleaned my old one because I couldn't see the splatters. Also, my old range had a black plastic top part that was very difficult to clean period. The top on this one is stainless and very easy to wipe down and the knobs are made of heavy stainless steel, not some cheap plastic. Also, the control panel has a lock button on it so you can wipe it down without accidentally pressing buttons. I use Dawn dishwashing detergent to clean the cooktop and find that while I am cleaning more often, it's not a big deal to keep clean. Dawn cuts the grease, plus I don't have to clean under the burners and around the ring of the coils. It heats quickly and I find no problem with the "low" temperature burning things. I appreciate the lights that tell which burner is lit, although you can just look at the knobs to see which one is not directly upright. I LOVE the two front burners that can accommodate various sized pots and pans. The warming burner has also been very handy. This is my first smooth top range and was very worried about scratching it but I haven't found that I have to use it any differently than my old coil burner range. The only thing I haven't done yet is use my cast Iron skillet as the bottom of it is not completely flat. I LOVE the convection oven! The entire oven itself is so much larger than my old one and I have had a lot of fun baking cookies, cornbread and homemade pizza that come out perfectly in the convection oven and looking forward to making other things as well. I LOVE that the oven beeps to let you know when it's heated to the proper temperature and you can see at any time what temperature it is at. I must agree with another reviewer who said the oven racks seem to tilt when fully extended outward. That has me a little worried about putting anything too heavy on a rack while it's fully extended. I did a lot of research before purchasing this from Best Buy and was very happy to find this was the one with the most features for the money as I also have the Samsung four door, french door refrigerator and LOVE it! At first I didn't think I would use the warming drawer but have come to love it also. The oven heats much faster than my old Amana and the oven door window is HUGE! The lighting inside is also very good. We got this Range on sale and my husband (who is not much of a cook) has even been excited to try it out. This is a BEAUTIFUL Appliance and very functional, with every feature I could ever imagine but never knew existed! I would definitely recommend this range to anyone looking for a smooth top with all the bells and whistles.

What's great about it: Cooks great, looks great.
What's not so great: Nothing, perfect stove so far.
This stove is great. Our old stove burst into flames this past Xmas and we found ourselves on the market for a new one as a result. The sales staff at BB walked us through several brands and we ultimately settled on Samsung because of brand name and features for the money. Oh it looks killer too btw. We have been using this for about 3 months now and we have zero complaints. I've read reviews about how the cook top gets dirty and is hard to clean, well that is a glass cook top for you they are all like that. Either deal with scrubbing the cook top or deal with cleaning up soup under your coils in the old fashioned stoves. Me, I choose the glass cook top hands down. Plus it looks way better anyway and cooks better too.

What's great about it: Value for the price
What's not so great: No complaints
We were considering a another Samsung range but found this on sale at Bestbuy. The sale price at Bestbuy allowed for a far better product for slightly more than the lesser model.
My wife loves the fact you can program the oven to read in celcius as she is from Germany and does not truly understand fahrenheit.
It's easy to keep clean, although we've yet to try the steam clean feature.
During a kichen remodel, we switched from gas to electric and are really happy for the decision.

What's great about it: Just about everything ! Two sizes for different pot size, great value.
What's not so great: I wish the top came in a lighter color, they only have black.
This is a great stove, I love Samsung products. The covection oven is wonderful, cooks so even and faster ! I clean my top with windex, unless something sticks, then I use scotch pad for smooth tops. Enjoy ! Never use anything sharp, it will scratch, be careful. Great value.

What's great about it: Looks/works great (until you have to clean it)
What's not so great: Poor engineering causes grease to accumulate between the door glass that you cannot reach through normal cleaning
We purchased our Samsung Freestanding Electronic Range (model FTQ387LWGX) on 10/21/2010. For the first 2-months, we were very satisfied with this product and we often ran the steam clean and
self-clean functions to keep our oven looking shiny and new. The problem came when we cooked a dinner on New Year's Day 2011 which included an 11lb turkey in a roasting pan and later some side
dishes. When my wife cleaned the kitchen that evening, she decided to run the self clean function as there appeared to be some grease that splattered on the sides of the oven and on the door and
glass. To our horror, after the self clean cycle was finished, we discovered hundreds of DARK GREASE STREAKS that run down the length of and INSIDE/BETWEEN the glass on the oven door that cannot
be reached through normal cleaning! We had never experienced this problem until we cooked a big meal (i.e., turkey) in the oven. I went to the Samsung.com website and searched for a solution.
There I saw that another customer had written about this same problem and was seeking a solution from Samsung. The Samsung answer to this consumer on the website was to disassemble the door to
clean the glass and to call 1-800-Samsung for assistance. I called Samsung today, the first business day after the holidays. The first line support person initially told me to "stick some paper
bewteen the glass to clean the grease off." Can you imagine?!? Out of disbelief I asked her to repeat what she said. She immediately put me on hold to speak to a supervisor. When she came back,
she told me that her supervisor said that the grease between the glass "was considered physical damage and they would have to send someone out to take care of it!" Furthermore, I was told that I
WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR SAID SERVICE! I demanded to talk to her supervisor, Jarvis, the "Installation Manager." Jarvis told me the same thing. When I asked Jarvis if he would ever buy this oven if
he knew he would have this problem or if he knew the only solution was for a technician to come out to disassemble and clean the door--a "service" he would be charged for--he, not surprisingly,
said "no." Yet, that is EXACTLY what Samsung expects of us, the consumers, to do! I demanded to talk to Jarvis' boss, the Samsung Operations Manager. I was told he was not in but that he would
contact me tomorrow. I will wait to see what happens tomorrow, but it is apparent that Samsung has no viable solution to this built in problem which I suspect is caused by the Surround Airvection
with its multiple multi-fan system that circulates the air. What else could explain so much grease inside/between the door glass?
In anticipation of not getting any satisfaction out of Samsung (I can tell by their arrogant answers and the way I was spoken to on the phone) I called Lowes, the store where I purchased the oven.
Lowes has agreed to work with me to replace the oven with another brand/model if need be. I suggested to Lowes that they contact Samsung corporate to complain about this product and to complain
about the damage Samsung is doing to their consumer base by treating the consumer so poorly and expecting the us to pay for their engineering failure.
SAMSUNG: THE ISSUE WITH THIS PRODUCT AND YOUR "SOLUTION" IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!!!
CONSUMER, DO NOT FOR ANY REASON EVEN CONSIDER PURCHASING THIS PRODUCT, THE SAMSUNG FREESTANDING ELECTRIC RANGE FTQ387L

What's great about it: Convection oven
What's not so great: Having to adjust the oven temperature
I had a Frigidaire convection that I loved, but we moved. I wanted to upgrade my appliances to stainless steel. I waited 4 months before buying a stove for the new place, reading endless reviews. I settled on this one because of good overall reviews and the way it looked. I also have a Samsung Fridge and I love it, so thought I'd try another appliance from them, as well.
The previous reviews talk about the top showing fingerprints. It does do this, but nothing you can't just swipe off with a paper towel. What I learned from the previous glass cooktop I had was, make sure you wipe it down with the cleaner they give you, regularly. It makes cleaning it pretty easy.
The elements heat up quick and hold heat very well. When I first used a glass top years ago, I was burning everything, but I guess they are all the same once you learn to adjust to temps on it. I have had no problems with it.
The only thing I did have to do was adjust the oven temp 25 degrees myself. Stuff in the oven was taking forever to cook. Once I did that, things were cooking at regular temperature times.
The other thing I love about this stove is the touch pad for setting everything. My old Frigidaire had a an arrow you had to keep pressing a million times to get your temperature set. This is very easy to set the clock and the cooking times as well.
We recently had a big halloween buffet and I used the warming draw to keep things hot. It works great. It does shut off after a couple of hours on its own.
The knobs have not been in the way of any of my pans or tea kettle, I had read a review that said they had issues with the knobs sticking out too far and couldn't get a pan on the back burner. I have not had that problem at all and have used all different sized pans.
So far I am very happy with the purchase and would recommend it.

What's great about it: Works great, looks great.
What's not so great: cleaning range top and stainless steel
We bought this range to match the Samsung refrigerator, microwave and dish washer. Our last range was a glasstop but was not convection. This unit performs very well. Yes, there is a learning curve to the burners and the convection oven but it is not a big deal. The black glass top shows more splatters than our white GE range did. I have cooked everything from frozen pizza to meat loaf, baked chicken, muffins, etc. in this oven. If you use the convection feature (you can also bake on normal oven setting) start with a lower temp and less cooking time than the recipe calls for. As for the burners, once you figure out what dial controls what burner (a dial con control up to 3 diffferent sizes on the same burner) it is easy to use and yes, you can boil things over but it was the same with our old range. Having all of these satinless steel appliances has enhanced the appearance and the functionality of our kitchen.

What's great about it: Shorter cooking times, easy cleanup, and multiple settings for both oven and cook top!
What's not so great: The learning curve if you've never used a glass cook top or a convection oven.
I bought this stove several weeks ago, and I have nothing but good things to say about it, except for the learning curve. The stove does take some time to get used to, as I've never used a glass cook top before, having used either electric or gas for most of my life. You have to closely monitor the stove while cooking anything that needs to come to a boil. Boiling over instant mashed potatoes or pasta or even the pasta sides are common until you figure out the correct temperature settings. There are 2 multi size burners on the stove that take some getting used to as well. You have to be careful to have the correct size of the burner selected otherwise you get a temperature variance while cooking. They say to use either stainless steel or composite cookware on the stove top, and I agree but aluminum pots and pans work just as well! I've not had to deal with a hot handle on any of my pots and that makes me feel extremely safe while cooking. They recommend against using cast iron cookware since it could scratch the surface, but if you are careful with them you should be fine. As far as the care of your cook top, using a cook top polish is a good idea if you hate streaks from using soap and water. If you are a perfectionist about how the cook top looks, don't get this stove because there will be scratches and scorches aplenty. I'm not nor is my wife worried about such trivial things, so it doesn't bother us, making the stove look used and loved, as it were. If you have small children, keep them away from the stove even after you've turned it off since the top will remain hot after the burners have been turned off. This is true for all stoves, of course, and only the burners you've been using remain hot while the rest of the stove remains relatively cool.
The oven is great! I've baked and cooked a wide array of items in it. The convection oven works great for baked goods like: muffins, cookies, cakes, buckles, and pizzas. If you're cooking frozen or refrigerated pizzas I highly recommend the convection oven! This oven will cook the whole thing evenly and thoroughly. As for roasts and turkeys and the like, I think the regular baking is better. Broiling is good too just watch your meal as with any other oven! The warming drawer is a gods send! I've kept pancakes warm while cooking the rest of breakfast, and when my wife has to work late, her meal stays relatively fresh! But be careful! If you set it too high, you can over cook the meal you're trying to keep warm!
I'm very happy with this oven and I'm sure anybody who buys this will be as well! Just be patient as you learn how to use the different settings and use the manual recommendations for cooking times and settings as a guide and your meals will be wonderful!

What's great about it: I can make 2 doz cookies at the same time.
What's not so great: steam clean is not all that great.
I love my new oven. The convection cooking is fantastic and quiet. The steam clean feature is so so, I found that the self clean function is better. The cooktop is no different to clean and care for then any other glasstop. I have had the oven for 3 weeks and I have used the warming drawer at least 5 times. It is great when making breakfast, it keeps everything warm and fresh. When hosting a cook out it keeps all the meat warm, hot on highest setting.
Bonus.....when I went to the store it was on sale for $975.

What's great about it: The convection oven
What's not so great: The cooktop is impossible to regulate the heat.
I feel like a spoiled child having such a nice, beautiful, expensive stove and saying that I dont like it, but after several months of burning countless meals I have finally had to admit it to myself that I HATE my new stove!!!
First, the things that I do like/love:
LOVE the warming center and warming drawer
LOVE the convection oven....bakes great and i love being able to bake on more than one rack at a time. Makes holiday baking so much faster.
I like the fact that i can change the size of the cooking element.
OK......Now for the things I HATE.....
I HATE the cooktop!!! The temperature on the elements are impossible to control!! I cant tell you how many times I have burned or almost burned food, even on the lowest possible settings. I am a good cook and this stove has made me feel mediocre at best!
I also have had issues keeping it clean as well. It is so hard to clean any spills that get cooked onto the surface.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
