What's great about it: pretty :)
What's not so great: durability of side buttons, price
I really wanted to like this mouse. Although expensive decided to add to Christmas list as wife needed some ideas. The feel in my hand took a little getting used to but overall it was not a bad mouse.
The reason for my poor rating, the rear left side button ended up sticking under the outer plastic every time it was pushed, it is basically flush to begin with. So luckily Best Buy replaced it as it was only 5 months old. The new on only lasted 3 months and did the same. Also just curious how much the packaging for this thing added to the cost, it's a mouse not the crown jewels, give us the product in a plain box throw in the instructions (not also boxed up) and drop the price please.
I am a careful adult player, and while i do use that button a lot, it should especially for the price be able to handle that for more than a few months. In comparison, my new Logitech G700 has lasted longer than the 2 Mamba's together and still going strong. The cheap throw away mouse i had before these is still working after 2 years, my work mouse is 6 years old. If you compare pictures you will see the Logitech side buttons are bumped out and have some space, while the razer is barely flush and tight.
If you leave it in it's display case packaging and don't plan on using it you're all set.

What's great about it: Ergonomics, Responsive, DPI, Smooth scrollwheel
What's not so great: Short battery life, Grip scratches off, Mouse feet do not last, Nasty double-clicking issue, expensive
Originally I bought this mouse for light gaming and every day use.
Left click and right click are more sensitive + easy to click as expected and it comes in handy for first person shooter games.
The shape and ergonomics of the mouse are good/adequate for long gaming sessions as well as every day use. Mouse does not feel heavy even though it looks large. Side buttons are comfortable and well positioned. You may accidentally hit the DPI adjustment buttons which are placed on the left click button's top side but this has only happened to me a few times.
The sensor (DPI) is very good and it is adjustable on the fly. Scroll wheel is smooth. Colors add a nice touch.
Conversion from wireless to wired is good and necessary due to short battery life.
The mouse build quality/durability is below average, noticed after using for a little over a year. The surface of the mouse has a thin rubberized grip feel that has started to scrape off and is about 50% gone. It looks terrible and it really is not due to palm sweat as I do not particularly have that issue; it will just happen from regular use. This mouse is not fully compatible with Mac's OSX and you may require external drivers and apps like USB overdrive if you have this operating system. Without a dedicated mouse pad the teflon feet will last about 6 months at best before you start noticing the increased friction on hard surfaces, after 1 year it is no longer smooth on table top and it grinds on any debris or table imperfection. I have not tried this mouse on glass.
Battery life is not good. Even though mouse is rechargeable you will have to dock the mouse every night. Using wire directly into mouse is very helpful if you forget to charge and there is a slightly noticeable increase in speed.
Double-click problem renders it useless for gaming. Just crossing the one year mark, the mouse begins to register single-click on the left button as double-click randomly. It happens with more frequency as time goes by and by now even web browsing is tedious as it makes a lot of mistakes and forces the user to deliberately click anything slowly to try to prevent issue.
I was very excited buying this Razer mouse and hoped that the cost would bring a quality and durable mouse that could last but with the problems that I've had, one can't justify the price tag. It should be $50.00 and no more. Expect it to begin breaking down in 1-2 years.
Per Razer website this mouse's limited warranty is 2 years with PROOF OF PURCHASE. But you can certainly avoid the desperate search for sales receipts, and hassle of determining what they can cover on your mouse if you simply skip on this product.

Hence the great price, I guess. I bought this as a gift for my girlfriend. She enjoys it. So far so good. I've had a pair of Razer Carchurias headphones for more than 18 months... they still work GREAT... no shorts in the wire... and I slay headphones like bugs. If the mouse is ANYthing like my headphones, it'll last for years. Also the wireless/wired feature rocks.

What's not so great: Needs a separate charging unit. I only run my gamer when I play normally, but I am running it now to make sure the Mamba
By FAR the best mouse I've ever used, and I had a Razer before. It's soooo smooth and accurate and it definitely improved my game. You don't know how the wire affects you until you get rid of it. 5 STARS, NO DOUBT. Well worth the $. The complaints come from folks who don't know what they are doing. I know, I read them, and I have seen what they are talking about, and they are NOT an issue at all, specially the battery life. YOUR COMPUTER MUST BE RUNNING TO CHARGE THE MAMBA. If I ever wear it out, I will buy another:)

I can't say enough good things about this mouse. I found it was almost impossible to live without. I purchased it in Sept. 2009 and a few weeks ago the cursor quit working. I contacted Razer and sent the mouse back. In little more than a week I had my replacement. Their customer service was outstanding, which isn't always the case nowadays. I am eagerly awaiting the release of their xbox box controller. Great product and great service!

1 Word. Amazing. This piece of work is fantastic! I have booked hundreds of hours playing games with this thing and I have to admit. The edge it gives is substantial. I play games ranging from Dawn of War to Call of Duty to Audiosurf to World of Warcraft and this bad boy parties with me all the way! This was the first Razer Product i bought and the impression it gave forced me to buy more of their products. Although it is a bit pricey for what you get, It bears the name Razer, and razer=quality gaming. If you play anything, this mouse is great! You can program the buttons to do anything. The ability to change DPS at the click of the upper left hand side of the mouse is verryy nice. I love the way this mouse feels, the way it fits your hand. I have a hard time using any other mouse now, all of them seem too small. Wired Wireless is a beautiful touch and the LEDs in the scroll wheel and dock look breathtaking. Razer stole my heart with this product and I will always be a fan!
PROS: Excellent and Comfortable Design for any amount of time (ive played 16 hours straight... it works :D), Plenty of Buttons for your programming needs, Rapid DPS change, Gorgeous Looks, Ultra Responsive, Wired/Wireless, Long Battery Life, Fancy Braided VERY long cable to plug anywhere, Cable does not knot easily
CONS: A Bit Pricey (although i have not seen a mouse that even compares to this), Once used to, makes every other mouse seem tiny and uncomfortable (But Thats okay cause with this, you dont need another mouse)
OVERALL: This mouse is fantastic. This is top of the line equipment. I would reccomend this to all of my gamer and non-gamer friends. I have no clue what the other people are saying when they say scrolling issues and lag. It is absolutely fantastic. If you are really worried about it, spend the 15 bucks on the Black Tie warrenty and enjoy without worry!!

What's great about it: Pretty blue lights
What's not so great: Broke after 90 days with little use.
I purchased my Mamba Razor at the beginning of October and it stopped working on December 30. Both the verticle and horizontal movement of the cursor was none functional. The other buttons on the mouse stayed functional. I called Razor and I am in the process of trying to use the factory warranty. I will reply again once they have taken care of this piece of junk.
This mouse in general is no different than any other lazer mouse. It uses a special lithium battery and it has pretty blue lights but is not worth the $130 price tag. The software that it uses to control the cursor speed is also difficult to use. Plugging and unplugging the usb cord from the mouse to the charger stand is also a poor design. I would not recommend this product to anyone under any circumstances. This is the first and last Razor product I will purchase.

What's great about it: Wired/wireless option, software (generally)
What's not so great: Poor mouse wheel design, poor 'visual enhancements' (glued paper to plastic for look & feel)
Overall it's a good mouse, as others have stated, even those with bad reviews.
I've used this mouse for just over 1 year, and I'm about to replace my 2nd Mamba.
I got my first one December 09, by April the mouse week started to squeak whenever I moved the mouse wheel. Razer claimed it was a defect and Best Buy's Customer service replaced it promptly without issue.
December '10, my 2nd Mamba starts to have the same issue...
As others have stated, the 'paper' that's glued on in various places starts to come loose over time, and perhaps that throws the balance off on the mouse wheel (which also has one of the glued paper parts).. In any case, it makes a noticeable squeak every time I use it now.
Overall I enjoyed the mouse, and the 'poor battery life' can be adjusted by using a lower polling time..
My only issues:
1) Mouse wheel squeaking, as stated above.
2) Occasionally the mouse 'stopped' responding and had to be unplugged & replugged for it to work promptly. This happened without any button pressing or setting changes, probably once or twice a week and could be triggered just by moving the mouse

What's great about it: Very well designed mouse
What's not so great: Price
This is the first gaming mouse that have I bought. I used to use the mice that came with those keyboard/mouse combos, so it was quite the upgrade. The only thing bad about this mouse (in my opinion) is the price.
The mouse is both wireless and wired. It has a fancy USB cable that connects either to the charging dock or the mouse itself. While gaming, I keep the mouse wired so I don't randomly lose power while playing. The only time I use the wireless mode is when I watch movies or TV on my computer from my bed.
You can customize the buttons on the mouse to function how you want and if you don't like the lights on the charging dock and mouse, you can turn them off.
I can't say for sure if this is a reasonable price for this mouse, but I feel like I got my money's worth. The mouse feels great in my hand and all the buttons are accessible and responsive.

This has by far been the worse gaming mouse I've owned! Not sure if it's compatibility with my Mac that's the problem, but it is almost impossible to play BF2142(my game of choice) because it will not scroll well at all! And for $129, I expected the opposite experience. Very very disappointed.

Razer Mamba Wired/Wireless Laser Gaming Mouse Well wired is right but the wireless sometimes get very frustrating because if you don’t move the mouse while using the wireless ability it goes in to stand by so that you have to move it to wake it up and if you’re playing a game and you probably will be because it is made for gamer, that split second that it takes to wake it up is more time then you have that is a big Down side to having it wireless but when its wired it is perfect so the question is why pay about 30.00 more for the wireless option if you’re not going to want to use it, however the wireless is good for everything else but not gaming.

What's great about it: everything
What's not so great: nothing so far
I purchased this mouse two weeks ago and am kicking myself for not having done so sooner. Everything about it rocks. Just the right amount of buttons. The prgramability is excellent. The ability to change your DPI on the fly is amazing when using it for 1st person shooters. The wireless life is great. ! thing I had an issue with was plugging the cord into the base of the charger which you must do for it to work wirelessly. You really have to jam the cord in hard to get it to go all the way in and connect I was worried I was going to break it if I pushed to hard and couldn't tell if it was connected until I actually found a picture of the cord plugged in and saw I didnt have it in far enough, other than that it has been perfect.

Hey all! well just picked this bad boy up at my local BEST BUY and was reading the reviews in store like i always do before i buy and read good and bad..... well those who had bad reviews did not pay attention on the drivers web site. I have Windows 7 64bit and went to http://razerzone.com/ to get the drivers... all you have to do is to take it out of the amazing case plug it in go to razerzone.com go to support, go to drivers pick out the product you bought and select your operating system i.e. windows 7 64bit but its tricky you have to go to razor mamba and select more choices... then you will see driver version for win7 64 or 32. version 1.6

What's great about it: Sensitivity, Design, battery life, comfortable.
What's not so great: cord is extremely long, which is not bad.
I had not bought this mouse quite yet, but this is one of the best mouses I ever used. If you are looking for a mouse for extreme gaming, this is one of them. The mouse sensitivity is perfect to move across the screen in a blink of an eye, while keeping track of the mouse. The best part of this mouse is, you can adjust your mouse speed to how you like it while making it faster as you get used to each speed. The wheel is also a very nice thing to have on this mouse as it rolls with ease. The charger on this mouse is also a great thing to the mouse, when you are done with you mouse, you can place it on its tray for charging, but when you mouse is dieing while gaming, just remove the wire from the tray, and place it in to the mouse and charges while you are gaming! The hand design on this mouse is also the best part, you will get lack of hand cramps and easy to move the mouse with your wrist. This mouse also has a very long battery life of about 8 - 12 hours.

What's great about it: feels good in your hand, very responsive, high dpi
What's not so great: It isn't wireless and lacks features other high end mice have
If you are looking at this because you want a wireless mouse, this is not the mouse for you.
I define wireless as "no wires required to use the mouse."
The mouse comes with a wire. You plug this wire into your computer and then you have the option of plugging it into the charging station or the mouse. If you plug it into the mouse it works like any other mouse. If you plug it into the charging station then the mouse may be used like a wireless mouse in the sense that it is not tied to the computer. However, if you were to remove the wired charging station from the computer the mouse ceases to function, therefore it is not a wireless mouse.
This might be a small distinction for a desktop user, but if you are using a laptop the wired charging dock causes more issues than just plugging the mouse in. Additionally, if you are a laptop user that does not leave your computer on, when you are done using the mouse and set it on the charger, it does not recharge because your laptop is off. I personally never leave my laptop on as they do not cool as effiecently as a desktop and it shortens their life. So I do not know how the designers expected a laptop user to recharge the mouse.
I read some reviews that indicated its battery life while wireless wasn't so good either. But I could not use it wirelessly long enough to find out, as the stand added more complications than just using it as a wired mouse.
As a wired gaming mouse, it was comfortable, responsive, and easy to use. The problem is so are alot of other gaming mice. There are mid-level priced gaming mice and high end. At a price tag of 130.00, this mouse should sport all the high end features, but it doesn't.
Missing features:
an insane number of programable buttons
color changing
interchangable weights
interchangable grips
outlet charging (for wireless charging while the computer isn't on)
Without at least a few of these features, it is just a mid-level gaming mouse at a high end price point. It isn't that I think the mouse was bad. As a wired mouse it was very good. But so is the Logitech G500, which retails around 69.99 and can be easily found on sale for even less. It doesn't support its price point without real wireless connectivity.
I bought this mouse because the wireless reciever for my previous mouse (Logitech MX Revolution) was damaged (again), so I figured it was time for an upgrade as the MX revolution is out-dated and has a low dpi (~800). I am returning the Mamba today, because while I liked the mouse fine, there is no way I can justify 130.00 for another wired mouse. I also own a logitech G500 and Steelseries World of Warcarft mouse. I would have considered keeping the Mamba at a $60.00 price point had I needed a wired mouse. So if you need a wired gaming mouse, and you find one on the cheap, it is worth considering. However if you need a wireless mouse or it is full price, then you are better off selecting something else.

What's not so great: battery life to short, specially for gamers
I love the feel of the mouse, the lights on the mouse and even the recharging stand. I also love the ability to charge mouse as i play by moving usb cable from recharge stand, to being directly in the mouse itself.
However, i have found that i most of the time am required to have a "wired" mouse. I full charge the mouse and then get about 4-5 hours out of the battery before having to hook the usb cable back up. Thats pretty bad as my previous mouse that used 2 double A's i could go fro easily 20+days. So just be warned battery life was issue for me and could be a issue for you.

I do not recommend this mouse:
1. This is wireless mouse (if you want wired mouse you can buy something cheaper), but you can use this mouse very short time - with intensive work the battery of this mouse will dead after 5-6 hours. I have other wireless mouse and I change batteries in that mouse once per 2-3 weeks. Is this good for Mamba? No, it's really bad.
2. I use this mouse not very often and after ~ 6 month I totally do not like it. Why? Because rubber material on the left side of the mouse started to "bubble" up and move when I touch it. This is ridiculously bad for expensive device. I still can use it, I can remove rubber or use a special glue etc., but what next? Should I wait for next problem?
So, think before buy.

What's great about it: comfortable, responds well, looks amazing, long battery life, wireless
What's not so great: minor squeaking (easy fix)
overall great mouse, fits the hand very good and is very comfortable, looks cool and performs greatly, great wireless mouse for gaming. only problem i had with it was that the mouse wheel started squeaking 1 week from me purchasing it, it was an easy fix though, all i had to do was pop the cover up and grease up the axle and it was silent again.

What's great about it: ergonomics, cool box,
What's not so great: Long charge time, Short battery life, Software and Drivers fail in win7
If your using 64 bit Windows 7 and want more than a normal mouse Stay clear of this one. The drivers are not recognized in windows 7 it is always put as a HID compliant mouse. When you plug it in it recognizes it for about 10 second and then defaults back the driver to HID Compliant mouse...
I returned the first one thinking it was bad
After I noticed every time I changed dpi settings or assigned buttons the snyapsense on the mouse would freeze for abnormally long 5+Mins and the Mamba software would lock up 7 out of 10 times
Tried it on multi computers different locations and got the same results every time and even did a format and reload on clean install.
The Verdict the drivers and software for this mouse make it a comfortable WAY Over PRICED wireless mouse not a extreme gaming mouse.
I guess if you want to pay 130 dollars for a really comfortable wireless mouse or a really comfortable wired gaming mouse its for you. Ether way your not getting what you paid for.
I am nearing returning the second and getting a Sidewinder X8, The software and windows 7 is a real deal breaker here.
I would expect an all around quality product for this price
Over all the feeling I get very lopsided development all the money went in to ergonomics and presentation of the product and they ignored important areas such as quick charging times long battery life and good software.
All of which the sidewinder X8 has at a lower price
