Quick to set up (does require the manual though). Easy to use (my wife who hates learning new gadgets can move from Netflix to DVD mode quite easily). And looks cool sitting under the matching Samsung LCD. One samsung remote controls the TV and player.
The only negatives are cosmetic in nature: the usb wireless dongle sticks out oddly, the attachable base feels flimsy and almost like an afterthought. (it is wall mountable but since I will be getting a wall mounted center speaker, I did not go with this option).
Overall great player.
What's great about it: Ease of set up, Ease of Use
What's not so great: Wireless Dongle sticks out the side

bought this to go with a new led and home theater both from Samsung and I didn't have any more cabinet space anynet is convienent and mounting at chest level on wall makes reading the touch "buttons" a snap along with loading discs. Plays fine Netflix works through the wireless dongle that is provided. My only complaint would be the price, even on sale it was $299 but it was the only option for me
What's great about it: mountable

Looks like a spaceship, picture is unbelievable, streaming of music, movies and internet is too cool. Overall, I am ecstatic with my new toy.
Sometimes loses wireless connection in the middle of youtube video or other function. Puzzling, since router is directly behind the wall.
Does not shut off without changing TV input.
What's great about it: Picture quality, inputs and streaming rocks!
What's not so great: Remote buttons are slow to respond

You can't use this player in a cabinet scenario. DVD access is on the right side of the player. The Netflix instant queue is only changeable from your pc. And is only viewable & playable, not interactive. Insignia players allow you to search 8 different genre's to play or add/remove from your instant queue from your tv. You aren't limited to only using your pc. Not having these Netflix features made me return it the next day.
What's great about it: Looks good.
What's not so great: DVD disk access & very limited Netflix features.

Samsung spec does not say it is not compatible to Windows 7. Anyone buying a new PC will get it with Windows 7, since you cant get XP anymore and Vista sucks. So their engineers did not bother to issue a firmware upgrade ever since Windows 7 was launched. If PC streaming is impotant to you, then think before you go for any Samsung player that advertises that feature. Some users have posted in forums that they got it to work (by entering the ip address of the PC in the setup) but I wasn't able to - besides the fact that ip addresses can change for your pc. Samsung support is quite unhelpful, I dont get any response even though I have told that it has been escalated to Tier 3 support (Product specialist) I wonder what they mean by "specialist" because anyone worth putting that tag against their name would have fixed the problem with a firmware release by now.
What's great about it: Futuristic look, wall mountable
What's not so great: PC Streaming does not work

I bought this product a month ago, excited that I would be able to watch Netflix instantly, only to find that my it would not connect to the internet. It comes with a LAN adapter that you need to plug into the back of the unit, and this piece was broken. My blue-ray would not even recognize the LAN.
So I brought it back the next day, and got a brand new one, same model. This one hooked up easily to the internet, but gave me problems every time I tried to play one of my dvds. They were not scratched, barely used. Sometimes the player would start the dvd fine, then stop half way through the movie and not start again. Other times, I would put the dvd in, and the screen would turn black and stay that way for 10 mins or so. I could not even get to the menu screen or eject the disc at this point.
I returned this item (my second return so far) only to find that the reason this one was so expensive was not because of the quality of the product, but because it was wall mountable.
I am afraid to go with Samsung again after these bad experiences. What a disappointment. Too bad, it could have been a great ride!
What's great about it: Netflix and Pandora were a breeze.
What's not so great: First player would not connect to internet, second player would not play dvds.

I bought the Samsung 32 inch touch of red hdtv and bought this to add to it. I alsoI bought this unit because it will connect on my home network to let me stream content from Netflix. I am waiting for my new computer to get here and set up the network and enjoy. In the meantime, this unit works so much better and faster than my SONY blu ray player. It loads quickly and the design is beautiful.

Bought this player to match my Samsung 50' Plasma which is the same black/red color. Looks great wall mounted next to it. Had to jimmy rig it so that it wouldn't slide around on the mount. Think something was off on the bracket. Love the netflix wifi feature, use it all the time with no problems. Also has Pandora, Blockbuster, and Youtube connection.
What's great about it: Super easy to set up.

I bought this player last week and plugged in. It played the movie fine. But after I setup the wireless connection, it asked for the firmware upgrade. I accepted and the download took about 30 minutes. Then it started upgrade firmware process. It took 4 hours, still not done. I waited for another two hours, still not done. I unplugged the power, plugged it back, now the player display "LOAD". I left it overnight, still LOAD. I called Samsung support, they said I would need to send it to Samsung to fix. I googled on this Samsung model as well as BD-3600, BD-1600, they all have this known issue. Finally decided to return back to Bestbuy, so dissappointed. Firmware is what we need to upgrade often but with this issue, I DON'T RECOMMEND to buy any of these Samsung Blu Ray players.
What's great about it: Picture was OK.
What's not so great: Firmware upgrade issue.

The body looks great, love all the black on black.
Works like a charm for dvd and blu-ray disk. That's expected.
I connected the WiFi - that went well. Did the firmware upgrade, no problems there. It found my PC's share drive -- everything going well! Can play MP3, check. Can play most PC formats fairly well, but behavior is a little odd. If I press rewind goes to start of movie! If I FF to 2x speed all is well, but when I try to go to 4x speed it goes to start of movie again. This with MPEG4 content. If I pause for more than 60 seconds -- start of movie. Arg. I wondered if my WiFi was the problem, so connected it directly to the LAN. Same behavior.
I dorked about with it for a while, then just decided it was a lot easier to connect my laptop to the TV with an HDMI output cable (my Dell m2400 happens to have a HDMI friendly 'Display Port') and watch online content that way. Now I'm wondering why I spent the extra money for the WiFi in the Blu-ray player, the laptop is far better behaved. On the other hand, my laptop doesn't have a remote, so its not all cake.
Maybe Samsung will improve the streaming behavior with a firmware upgrade, we can hope!
What's great about it: Looks great
What's not so great: Can stream media over wifi, but can't rewind / fast forward streaming media very well

This is my first blu ray player and I did have some issues setting up the wifi connection, but I think that's mainly because the manual isn't too clear about how to exactly set it up. So with some trial and error I finally got it to work. Then I had to do a firmware update, but unfortunately I had to REDO my wifi setup so that was a bummer. But since I was a pro at setting up the wifi then it only took a few minutes.
Once I got everything all set up though I was impressed by the options that are available. Netflix is so amazing to use and Pandora is unbelievable. YouTube is cool as well. It was easy to access them and add my accounts to all of them. It doesn't take long to stream Netflix movies, takes about 30 seconds or less to get them started and didn't have any interruptions during the movies. In order to add movies to your Netflix you have to do it through your Netflix account online.
Playing Blu Rays/DVDs is a total breeze. I like the "touch" buttons on the top of the device. It has a very cool design. But you definitely need to consider WHERE you're placing it. You have to insert the discs on the right side of the device AND you have an inch to inch and a half wireless adapter to the left of it. It didn't end up fitting in the TV cabinet, so I just ended up putting it on top. It also does come with a wall mount so that's another option.
Overall I do love this product. The picture quality is excellent. I know the menus aren't great, but they're not horrible just play around with it and in no time it's easy to find your way around. There are some really bad reviews on it, but I was hoping it was just those devices that had those issues and that seems to be the case. I haven't had any issues so far *crosses fingers* but I would buy the Best Buy protection just because this is a pricey gadget and $30 is definitely worth the peace of mind once the warranty is over.
What's great about it: Picture quality, design, user friendly (eventually)
What's not so great: Setting it up
I would recommend this to a friend!

I chose this machine more for esthetics than for the technical quality. For a Blu-Ray, this machine is rather pricey compared to other brands. However, I had just purchased a new Samsung television and the remote works on this unit as well. I particularly like the in/out mechanism that needs know clearance for a door to open. The DVDs slide in and out from the end of the unit with ease.
What's great about it: The size and shape of the nit fits nicely on a narrow fireplace ledge.
What's not so great: It is very touch sensitive and the glossy finish attracts dust
