What's great about it: The incredible, detailed, professional looking pictures you get almost automatically
What's not so great: Really can't say anything bad
"There is a setting where you can take pictures out the window (of birds for example), which I've come to love because of the incredible detail I get. The camera automatically focuses on the subject and puts the background just out of focus, like a professional magazine picture! The zoom is fantastic as well."

Great Camera

What's great about it: Takes great pictures, great zoom, long battery life
What's not so great: Lens cap, HUGE instruction manual, pictures a little dark
"I just bought this camera after having a regular digital camera. I bought it mainly for my kids dance recitals, and sports games. I was looking for a lithium battery, and a great zoom, all of which this camer has. I have had the camer now for about a week and all of the pictures that I have taken hav ecome out pretty good. I have only used it in the auto mode, as the instructution manual is so large I have not had time to read it ! I am sure once I get use to the camera the photos will be wonderful. I love the zoom. I took a picture of my daughter ice skating from about 25 feet away, and it looks like I am right there ! All in all, this camera is a great buy and is a wonderful purchase for a scrapbooking mom like me !"

"I use this camera to take pictures at Lacrosse games, parties, and just senic views. It's amazing I love it. I had to decide between the Nikon and The canon and I choose the Nikon becuas eof the burst mode. But After using it for a little over A month I love this camera it is great. I would tell anyone to buy the P90!"

Great camera

"This camera is great. It is everything I expected and more. Many people wrote bad reviews, and said it was horible because their photos came out orange. If it came out orange that is because of bad lighting while taking indoor photos. Easily fixed with more light, or changing the settings to one of the shooting modes that slows down the shutter speed allowing more light into the camera. I'm convinced these people did not read the manual. The manaul says to push the shutter in half way and the camera will tell if the picture will turn right or not. I only have bad pictures when the lighting is bad, so I adjust and get a good picture.
I thought I might want to take it back because all the bad reviews, but now that I have it, I love it. The bad reviews are from people that didn't take time to learn the camera."

"The Picture quality is amaizing! the sport shot feature is great. the optical zoom works beutifully. i love this camera, the speed, the tilt screen, the quality of the pics. nikon transfer software works great. files are a lil bulky, on average each pic is 2.5mb making uploading and downloading time consuming but well worth it"

"We purchased this camera with the intention of getting some great sports shots of our kids due to the zoom. All pictures taken, still and moving were blurred and slightly out of focus. All of the pictures taken had a yellowish cast to them. I changed the settings, called tech support and even took it to a camera store to have it looked at. I finally returned the camera and am currently researching (more carefully this time) a new camera. Please do not waste your money on this camera, you will be very disappointed."

"For $400 the camera was dirt. The pictures turn out way to blurry or they were yellow and orange. I had a good SD card and it still took way to long for the pictures down load in between takes. I wanted a camera that I could just go click click click. No way! The only thing I have good to say is the flip screen! I did love that feature. I did reutrn it and I got the Canon PowerShot. And I saved $100. The camera was not worth a penny. Don't waste your money!"

"I purchased this for my wife for her birthday, and ended up returning it after a few days of nothing but yellow and orange tinted pictures. We read the entire manual and adjust all the settings that it suggested to correct the problem and all it did was change the quality.
We returned it to the store and purchased a Canon Xsi. Which is truly amazing right out of the box. I would recommend not wasting your time on the Nikon."

modes and the results were more than I expected. The best was a multiple

What's great about it: Long range zoom for distance and nature shooting.
What's not so great: Nothing negative about it.
"This Nikon P90 was purchased for its 24X zoom in a small compact package. Living next to a large body of water I can shoot ducks, tow boats, Osprey, anything else, at distances of 100 yards and even further. This is best done on a tripod to eliminate shake and to keep the object centered. Truly the 24X zoom is superb in replacing expensive long lens of the best quality. The camera is light but feels solid. Controls are intuitively where fingers are placed. The vibration reduction cannot be faulted even at maximum zoom. It must be one of the best anti shake designs made. Rapid fire makes for great pics of birds in flight and sports shots. The P90 exceeds my expectations."

"The get started guide offers helpful information; however the higher functions seem convoluted to a hobby photographer like myself. "I thought a camera like this would have a fast shutter for capturing my kids and get me great pictures that I could enlarge for frames. I was hoping for something as close as possible to a DSLR without the extra cost.
Boy was I disappointed! From reading the reviews, the consensus seemed to be "great camera if you can figure out how to use it" and I was determined to figure it out. But it took way too much time messing with the ISOs and other options to get a DECENT picture. The Auto option was pretty much worthless. And once I finally got a decent picture, the clarity was still disappointing.
Since this camera is still considered a Point and Shoot, the Auto option should at least be somewhat reliable.
I returned this camera and got a cheaper Canon SD960 and am much happier. While its no DSLR, the picture quality is much better and even more importantly, the quality is reliable. I miss the variable lens, but not the bulk of this one."

"It doesn't work correctly! The lighting, the focus, the whole mechanics of the camera are inferior to all the other cameras I have owned! The Fuji brand I have is superior and so are the two Sony ones. I should have stuck with the ones I knew instead of a lemon it may just be this one out of a million, but it is bad!"
