Purchased together with an iMac. My previous printer was a Lexmark all in-one, but without wireless. The HP is very noisy. At times, it must be cleaning print heads as it moves back and forth while clicking. If you print on both sides of the paper it pauses for few seconds to let the ink dry! My Lexmark didn't do that. There is not tray to receive the printed pages and thus the paper falls in the floor. My Lexmark does have a tray to hold the pager. Wireless was easy to configure. Over-all I seem to have taken a few steps backwards in terms of printer features.
What's great about it: Wireless.
What's not so great: Loud. Double sided printing very slow.

I have had a couple of glitches where the printer has frozen up and refused to shut down, or print, or copy. I have found that if I unplug the printer cable and allow it to set a short while, then replug it and restart, the printer again operates as it should. I figure it must get something in it's memory that normal commands cannot get past, and it has to be cleared out before it can operate.
What's great about it: It operates at a good rate of speed, and prints photos clearly
What's not so great: When it freezes up at an unopertune time when I am in a hurry

I've had this printer for less than a year and the wireless function has stopped working. HP has been no help at all. The reason I bought this printer was for the wireless connection. Two error messages -- it keeps telling me that there is an unauthorized USB device connected (not true) and the diagnostic says that a critical failure of the wireless system has occurred. This is going to the garbage tomorrow and I will NEVER buy an HP product again.
What's great about it: Nothing
What's not so great: It doesn't work

This is the worst printer I have ever had the misfortune of purchasing, I only wish I had used it more to learn that before my return time was up! I have been working with computers and printers since 1984 and take my word for it, this is the absolute worst to use printer of all printers. What a disappointment for being a HP! It has given me nothing but problem when trying to print to the photo paper, or when trying to scan in multiple documents from the document feeder, I have had to call tech support 3 times to get it to work right, and they gave me a lot of bad attitude. I personally will never buy any product from HP again, after years of buying different HP products!
What's great about it: nothing
What's not so great: it doesnt work half the time.

Once we were able to get it all setup properly, it is awesome! Love the wireless feature and being able to print from your phone or send something wi-fi from another location. Pretty sweet!!
What's great about it: Love the wireless and wi-fi features!
What's not so great: Wish setup was a little less labor intensive

I like this printer a lot. It has great features, good print speed, and a lot of flexibility. It eats ink cartridges, as others have indicated. I gave it 2 stars though because I am on my third one in 15 months. Each time I have returned it, it is for the same issue - the rollers won't pick up the paper in the feed tray. I've tried all types of paper, including the official HP inkjet printer paper, and can't get it to last more than 7 months. So it's a decent printer, but make sure you buy the extended warranty!!
What's great about it: Good price, lots of features
What's not so great: Not built to last

The wireless aspect is great. Can print from my laptop on home wireless network. The photo printing is just as good as from a professional developer. Very happy with this product.

I can fax via feeder, The scanner is incredible depth. I had a photo smart 5180 was Incredible with photos, this is even better. Wifi, I have no idea what the blue tooth can do yet. The feeder 50 pages, prints fast and easy to put paper, the CD printer has been perfected. PROBLEM: Ink Jet Cartridges. I bought a Full set from HP, I reccomend the XL, its high capacity, no question you save money and the hastle. I price matched the printer and got it for 169$ but the cartridges cost me $113. I wouldve considered other brands because of that HP factor, But there is only HP when it comes to printers. I work around by using econo mode when I can. 800 sheets for black is pretty good, this is Laser quality, if at best. My next printer will be in a few years, when the color laser all in one like this one comes out in photosmart.
What's great about it: It does everything, All features and then some, and the Quality is incredible, I am having fun with this printer,
What's not so great: The ink jet cartridges are outrageous. Dont by refurbs. It will ruin your printer eventually.

This printer sold itself to me with the laundry list of features in a compact design. Color LCD is plus. WiFi to put the printer on your network. Duplex Printing (although through slight of hand not automatically). This printer can also print photos and they are frame worthy. This is only a passable fax machine due to the eon that it takes to cancel a fax job (think wrong number). You can find yourself in for long minutes of latency waiting for an errant fax job to purge.
What's great about it: WiFi built in and Duplex
What's not so great: Faxing is twitchy.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The function panel is designed to be easily learned and even easier to use. I do wish the printer was quieter. When I first got it, its beginning active printing sounds troubled me because I thought they were signifying a break down.
What's great about it: Its print quality and multiple ink cartridges
What's not so great: Very Noisy

I have had this for a couple of months and use it for light home printing. I have not had any of the problems mention in some review. This is a great printer and I am pleased with my purchases at Best Buy. It was on sale.

This is our second HP printer in a month. We had to return the first one because it would lock up and then fail to turn off (you would have to unplug it to reset it). The second one has the same problem but not as often (typical HP). Printing quality is great.
What's great about it: Printing quality/even photos
What's not so great: It's an typical HP- problem with plug & locking up

I bought this printer to hook into my wireless network directly. It was a replacement for an HP6200. I love this printer! Wireless set up was a breeze. Print quality is excellent and so far, no trouble with the ink running out. I've only owned for a few weeks but I have been printing quite a bit. so after reading some of the reviews here, I was pleasantly surprised. The Photosmart software is easy to use and printing photos is a snap. It's a joy to use. I would definitely recommend this printer.
What's great about it: Easy wireless set up and good price
What's not so great: Nothing so far.

* Only printer I've ever seen that prints pre-designed "forms", from Sudoku puzzles to staff paper.

All that, and I snagged one onsale for under 175 Yankee dollars. Easily the best printer I've ever purchased.
What's great about it: Every feature I could imagine wanting in a printer and under $200, and no cables to keep track of except power supply.
What's not so great: Large (20" x 20" x 12" / 51cm x 51 cm x 30 cm) desk footprint. But that's literally ALL I can find to complain about.

The photo prints are vivid and awesome! Generally, the print is also very good. However, it has gone to La-La-Land with a paper jam or some other type of error. It does not recover quickly if something is wrong. I have had to unplug it a couple of times to reset it. Like any desktop unit, you must fan the papers before placing them in the feeder. It can pull multiple pages through as if it were just one sheet. Overall, I am satisfied with the unit and will continue to work through any issues.
What's great about it: vivid photo colors
What's not so great: error recovery is cryptic. Starter ink was skimpy.

The printer has been in use for a month. The setup was simple on a XP, Vista and 7. I use it for small business to scan to PDF and fax. The auto feeder which has been a problem in the past for every printer has been flawless. I wanted to be able to print pics and so far I have been impressed. My previous printer (Lexmark) was wireless and I had all kinds of connection issues, where this one has been perfect. My kids print a good deal of garbage and I was spending lots on ink. It appears I will be saving $ with the 4 separate ink cartridges. I was able to trade in an old HP printer for $50 and this was on sale for $199. Not a bad price for the value. I found this printer to get very high ratings in my research and I concur.
What's great about it: Easy setup, nice pics, lots of features
What's not so great: Software a little heavy on the pc.

The print quality is good on this printer. The paper feed is smooth and prints straight on the page. We're using it to print business brochures but it has huge ink and software problems. It is an ink hog. If you print in large volumes, install a continuous ink system. I found one for 564 cartridges on Amazon. The software fights the CISS but eventually gives up.
This printer seems like it is designed just to use ink. Each time I turn it on it tries to align the cartridges (a six minute process which uses tons of ink). Just cancel the alignment. It must count number of times the cartridge has printed and not the real ink level. If you try to use refill cartridges, it pretends there is no ink in the cartridge and does not print in that color. It warns you that your warranty will be void if you continue to use refill cartridges. That is not true. Some court has decided that it does not void the warranty.
The software is intrusive. It stops the printing process during each print session for one false alarm after another. It reminds me of the annoying check engine light on my car. The light itself is broken, not the engine. Just some red herring to get you to spend money.

I have the printers attached to my network with 4 computers. Two of the computers are running Vista 32bit, one running Home Premium and the other is running Ultimate editions. One of my computers is running Windows XP Pro and my laptop is running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. Other than having to download a Windows 7 64bit installation, the other computers installed with no problems. All have access to the printer and work well with it.
What's great about it: Easy to set up and has all the features I wanted. Works both wireless and wire to my network.
What's not so great: Drops off the network if it isn't used regularly.
I would recommend this to a friend!
