I've had a pair of these earphones for about 2 and a half years now and they've served me well. Very clear audio with a strong bass line. The buds block out most other noise very well. They've been great for the several plane rides I've used them on. As classical musician and performer, I recommend these for anyone listening to music with many different instruments and layers of sounds and textures; they allow you to hear all the voices in the music.
However, after over two years of use, the sound in the right bud keeps cutting in and out depending on the position of the cord. I keep having to wiggle the cord around until I find a position where the sound streams continuously. With the amount I use them, I hardly blame Shure, though the warranty already expired. I'll probably have to buy a new set or maybe upgrade to the SE210.
Great earphones, great sound quality. Suitable for many uses. Just don't expect them to last forever.
What's great about it: Great sound, comfortable for extended periods of time, variety of earbuds, decent price - good value.
What's not so great: Speaker failure after a few years.
Best Uses: When I travel, At work, At home

these headphones had great sound quality but were not cofterbil by any means very Durable horrible for working out since the wire was so heavy it created a unnecessary pulling not worth 100 dalliers if i were to spend 100 bucks again on headphones i would get Bose cheapest noise canceling over the ear headphones or the Sony extra bass mdrxb300 witch only coast 50 witch is a great deal

I was a bit skeptical about spending $113 (w/ shipping) on a pair of headphones, but man was it worth EVERY penny.
I looked at some Klipsch, Bose, and Beats by Dr. Dre but these Shure's were by far the highest rating I have seen.
They take a little bit of time to get used to, with these you don't wear them like you normally would...you wrap them around your ears, which I personally like alot better and they stay in your ear. they come with 8 different ear pieces to choose from, so anyone can use these headphones.
The bass is incredible, just the right amount and you can hear notes and instruments you wouldn't even know were in a song. After reading a few poor reviews of these on this website I decided to still buy them anyways, don't beleive these people who say the bass sucks or the headphones are not worth it...THEY ARE SO WORTH IT!
What's great about it: Everything
What's not so great: your ears might be a little sensitive to these after a while of using them, but still very comfortable.

I love these headphones! They sound great and really do block out the noise. I like to listen to my music where ever I go and with these headphones I can without having to listen to the scream of jet engines or little babies or just the ho hum of a store. Well worth the money!
What's great about it: really stops the noise
What's not so great: the cord attachment is kind of odd but you get used to it

This Earphones. They kept going and going and going for me. I am an assistant sound tech for a church and also in the worship band. I use these earphones for IEM's (In Ear Monitors). They just kept going. They were hang stepped on and even thrown at times. These are a pair of road worth earphones. The sound quality is pristine. These are definately what you want to buy if you are wanting a good durable set of earphones. the highs, mids and lows are outstanding. They are yet slightly muddy. I have on order a pair of SE210s. They are said to be less muddy and be good for iPod and IEM use. I have used other Shure products such as the SCL3 IEM's. They had no bass at all. I made sure that I had a good ear seal before returning them. They were the most horrible earphones for an iPod. But they were great onstage. These had bass beyond any of my dreams. I have been reading reviews for the SE210s and the SE series in general. People are saying that they have "No bass." Well they actually do, the whole line does. Theres is a certain way to put them in your ears. Go online to www.shure.com/americas for the video on how to put them in. I have had over 400+ hrs on them and they finally quit on me. O and also... if you are having problems with bass or sound quality, make sure the canals of the Earphones are clean and try the different of the 6 pairs of tips that they come with... I yet had a problem with wearing for extended periods of time. My ears are tiny so that have had a factor.
Bottom line. Best earphones on the market for less than 100 bucks
What's great about it: Sound Quality, Durability
What's not so great: Comfort for extended periods

These headphones are amazing. I had a pair of Shure headphones that broke after 7 years of hard use. So naturally the model I had was out and these seemed to be the most relative replacement. These may be better than my old pair as far as fit and versatility. I am still impressed by the Shure company and will be a lifelong customer. Just please make sure you read the instructions on how to fit Shure headphones into your ear. You'll never want another brand again,
What's great about it: Durable and Great Sound,
What's not so great: Very Hard To Find.

Pros: Thumping bass, great treble, good balance between bass and treble (not many headphones succeed at this), comfortable fit, got it on clearance.
Cons: Moderate weight cord (not like that's a HUGE deal).
I have been on a search for nearly 2 years now for a great pair of headphones, after my last pair fell apart. Bouncing around from pair to pair, and driving everybody around me insane with my constant complaints about major flaws in pairs I buy, I finally landed on the goldmine of the Shure SE115 headphones. The pair I bought were on clearance for about $90, and this is the most I have ever spent for, well, anything before. I must say, if you want excellent audio performance for under $100, BUY THESE HEADPHONES!!! No pair I had before these have even come in the same category as these amazing headphones. The only problems I have with them is, of course, the weight of the cord, and the fact that the "correct" way to wear them is so bizzare from looping them over your ear, but they can actually be worn like any other headphones perfectly fine. I must say that if you are "on the fence" about a great pair of headphones, buy these, and unless your pair is faulty somehow (like almost every pair I get is, technology hates me most of the time) these will be some of the best headphones you will find anywhere for under $100.
What's great about it: AMAZING sound
What's not so great: kind of heavy cord

These headphones have lasted longer than any other in the past. The quality is amazing, crisp highs with surprising lows. I have had this pair for almost 2 years now and not a problem to mention. It comes with various size buds to form a comfortable seal.
The headphone line splits apart, so if you wear a small clip-on MP3 player, then you dont have to have all the excess cord. Great idea.
Once these eventually break or get lost, I will definitely replace with another pair.
What's great about it: Sound quality, comfort, construction, fit, breakaway headphone line
What's not so great: None

I purchased these last year and have retired them. I just stepped up to the pros with the Shure SE530 (which are by far the most amazing earphones I've ever owned! Seriously!) They fit my ears very well and sealed them really well as to cancel any outside noise. With some tweaking of the EQ on my iPhone 3Gs the bass is very up front. I love bass. I listen to thrash/metal and i find bass important. Mids are brought up front as well but highs are a tad rolled off so its not as bright and crisp as my Klipsch Image S4 (I honestly hate these with a passion. They do not fit well and the sound was too bright and thin for me). The extension cord it came with was durable and I never had a problem (my Klipsch S4s ripped and I never sent them back for warranty repair). I liked the buds it came with although I used the "spongy" ones as they sealed the best. I feel they are overpriced and should be about $80 range. But overall really good earphones if you like bass. But some have said they sound "dull" but not to me. I did however buy the Klipsch S4s and found them to be a lot more bright so if you like highs and less bass then the S4s are for you.
What's great about it: Fit (tight seal), finish, sound quality (big Bass!)
What's not so great: Over Priced, rolled off highs

I currently own Bose and Sony ear Buds. After spending hours of research, for my budget $100 and below, I had two choices Klipsch S4 and the Shure's.
When I listened to these, the Bose ones were and still are much superior. The Shure do not some close.
The wires are very think and the sound, similar to Sony ear buds. I returned the Shure and got the Klipsch, and there is no comparison. The sound quality of the Klipsch is 100X better; every beat is clear. The base the treble..... WOW!!!! Right now I am listening to the Klipsch and I am happy.
What's great about it: I can't think of any good thing about these
What's not so great: Confort, sound, size
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The quality of sound was great....nice bass after adjusting my ipod EQ. Ear buds came with numerous fittings to customize the fit. Doubles as a noise reducer on flights when not listening to music. The length of line easily made it from my head to my pants pockets.
After a while of daily use (6-8 mo.) noticed the sound quality started to decline. Thought it was my ipod acting up, but tested headphones on numerous other ipods and sounded the same. Did some trouble shooting and determined the line going into my ipod needed to be bent certain ways to get normal sound. If not it sounds like your listening to music with extreme echo. The connector plug from the ear buds to the main line is also a little heavy when moving around.
What's great about it: Sound Quality, Comfort, Length of Line
What's not so great: Durability, Weight of Ear Bud Joint to Main Line
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Previously, I owned a pair of the Bose in-ear headphones. The sound quality of these is comparable--- very clear. For my personal tastes, I would like to hear a little bass, but once you get to listening with them for a while, it sounds great regardless.
The biggest advantage with these over the Bose earphones in my opinion is the foam pad used. The Bose earpiece, while comfortable, didn't fit very snugly in the ear, and would fall out whenever I even turned my head too quickly. The earpieces would even fall off the earphones if I happened to bump them up against something while carrying them. These fit very securely, block out more sound than the Bose earphones, and stay in place even through moderate physical activity.
What's great about it: Comfortable, stay in place, good sound quality
What's not so great: Could use a little more bass, headphone adapter falls at chest

i will try to keep this short and sweet, and hopefully help anybody who is in the same situation i was in about a month ago.
i had been in debate between these and the bose in-ear for about a week. i had done tons of research, and asked the advice of many people, who mostly sided with the bose. i went with the bose for 2 reasons...#1 - i am really picky about the plug...i prefer the L-shaped plug, opposed to the straight one. #2 - i had read a review or two saying how much better the bass is with the bose. also (#3 i guess), 9 out of 10 friends, whom i thought were reliable in the audio department, preferred bose. so i bought them. they were ok, but i didn't pay $100 for "ok." i had a few issues with them, mostly being they never sat in my ear right, regardless of which size of sleeve i was using. they do not fit into the canal of the ear like the shure's do, but rather in the "bowl" of your ear. it's comfortable when they're in, but they fall out pretty easily, and also it seems like a lot of the sound leaks out. so i exchanged them for these 115's. A MILLION TIMES BETTER!!!! they fit sooooo snug. it's like you're hardly wearing anything! especially if you wrap the cord over the ear like recommended. also, the sound quality blows bose out of the water! the reviews i read about the bass being better with the bose couldn't be more wrong. truly, an incredible difference! i have never been so satisfied with a product! the noise isolation is out of this world! my issue with the straight plug is no longer even a thought in my mind. simply a PERFECT pair of headphones!
GET THESE OVER THE BOSE, and enjoy!! TRUST ME!
What's great about it: the fit, the sound, the quality
What's not so great: NOTHING

I am looking to upgrade from my old Sennheiser CX300's. Based on the good reviews I tried the Shure SE115. The main cord is much to short to be of any use at all, with a big heavy straight 3.5mm plug. With the cord extension the entire cord is so heavy the buds were pulled from my ears. Using the short cord and my Sansa Clip clipped to my shirt collar, the buds would stay in place but the sound was only marginally better than the Sennheiser's, certainly not another $80 worth. I did burn them in for 10 hours before using them.
What's great about it: Nothing that I discovered
What's not so great: Short Cord, Heavy Plug,

I just bought these so i don't know about the durability, but my stock ipod headphones broke so i needed new ones and had spent some time looking for an above average pair. I had pretty much made up my mind on buying the bose in ear headphones.
When I arrived at the store the guy at the mp3 area told me that if I was going to pay 100 bucks for headphones that the Shure 115s would blow the bose ones away. Well, they don't disappoint. I just got done listening to the new three days grace and breaking benjamin cd's and the quality is amazing. I can't hear my t.v. which is on normal volume. Also they are a heck of a lot more comfortable than the apple ones, which would fall out if I tried to do anything more than a slow jog. but these stayed in through my whole workout.
What's great about it: great audio, thick cord, really comfortable
What's not so great: none so far

These things sound great! My first impression i thought they were ok but the more i started listening to my music the more i wanted to listen to it. you will here things you've never noticed in your music. The sound isolation is like wearing ear plugs! They put you in your own world even in loud places. My wife hates them bc i cant ever hear her when she talks to me(but i like it :) ). There is plenty of bass any more would over power the sound. give yourself time to get the hang of the fit and swallow the price tag and you'll love them. Couldn't do with out them now. Wish i caould afford the se 530's. one day!

I have these for 4 years use them daily and never had any problems with them. It comes with different ear pieces in different sizes which was most excellent. They might seem a little pricy but they are worth it. The are light weight and cord goes behind the ears so it does not dang and get in your way when moving your hands.
