What's great about it: Great picture, sleek design
What's not so great: Dead in a week, LED bleeding on edges, limited inputs

"I had this TV for 8 days and guess what, they whole screen went white while I was watching Netflix on my PS3. I went on Samsung's website and it said it needs to be serviced. Yea right, it's going back to best buy. I think I'm going to buy a Plasma. I was really disappointed, I thought Samsung was the best. The picture was very good, a lot of options to adjust and the TV itself is really nice looking. The thing has a ton of HDMI's, but only one component/composite input, very limiting. Also, no RCA out for Audio so I had to use the optical, no big deal. I just can't justify a good rating on a TV that lasted such a short period of time. I still wouldn't say "Don't buy it", but I'm just a little angry at the situation.

I currently have my three year old, off-brand Olevia LCD in front of it, haha, big brands names aren't everything.

What's great about it: Amazing picture.
What's not so great: Sound should be deeper/stronger/more dynamic

"I have owned a 34" PANASONIC PICTURE TUBE HDTV for 9 years. After buying a SAMSUNG 19" for the kitchen, we were no longer PANASONIC loyalists. The 19" was so sharp looking when connected to basic cable, we were amazed. After a YEAR of looking and researching, the price at BEST BUY met my budget. We have owned the tv for 10 days and stare at it, trying not to comment on the clarity/depth/quality of the picture, while watching programs. It was delivered and I was supposed to wait for special installation issues to be resolved at the house by the GEEK SQUAD the next day. I plugged it in and watched the tv on a digital hookup without the GEEK SQUAD. We watched it for 6 hours without any tech help. AMAZING TV before HD hook up. BEST BUY and the TV are amazing."

What's great about it: great picture, great price
What's not so great: sound

"Well, after swooning over this TV for ages, looking up countless reviews, and fighting the urge to spend money on something else i bought it. i asked my local electronics store about the "flashlight effect" they told me they had never heard of such a thing best buy told me they had never seen the tv in the dark so they couldn't comment. I decided to buy from best buy because they had it in store and i could take it home that day. i couldn't be happier thing i like most is the size of the screen, having only owned a 32 inch tv before this was a large step up. then i plugged in my xbox and fired up Modern Warfare 2. the lag caused by the 120Hz made it unplayable but, a quick change to Game Mode and it plays perfectly. (i like how Game Mode turns on whenever i use that hdmi port for my xbox and stays off for everything else) For blu-ray movies the tv looks amazing and football is better than i have EVER seen it.

*FLASHLIGHT EFFECT*
When you read the negative reveiws all you're going to hear is about how it's so terrible and noticable and you can't fix it and blah blah blah... I've seen what people have returned the TV's for and i was shocked to find out what a MINOR flaw this actually was, first of all, in daylight, you CANNOT SEE IT. if you are watching something in full screen YOU CANNOT SEE IT even in the dark, on a screen with completely black edges, if the picture is designed to go to the corners of the screen i could not see the LED's. now if the room is dim (doesn't require complete darkness) and you are watching a movie that has a letterbox you will see a faint glow coming from the corners, not the top or bottom. in a completely dark room in the same situation you can see a glow from the top and bottom. it's not as bad as people point it out to be but, it is there. honestly i would buy this tv again, i would recommend it to a friend (although none of them can afford it) and i don't see why people returned it to the store. i think the people that complained that it ruins the entire tv and returned it are the same people who think they'll die if they don't get an extra large band-aid and neosporin for a papercut.

A+ and no complaints or regrets

What's great about it: Such a crystal clear picture
What's not so great: Not sure yet; just bought today

"I have never seen a picture this clear. Once getting it set up, I put in a blu-ray disc (Transformers 2). I have NEVER seen a movie in such a crisp and clear way. It is so amazing, it gives the illusion of looking through a peice of glass right at the live action. Things are so highly defined, it almost gives the illusion of depth/3D viewing. After seeing the picture for myself in my house, I can honestly say this blows away any other high definition tv I have ever seen (this is replacing a 720p Panasonic plasma).

If there is a downside to this tv, I will come back and update this review. As I said, I just got this today, and have been blown away by the picture. I honestly didn't know this is what high def was supposed to be.

I'm giving the sound a 4, but this may not be entirely accurate. I don't use the tv's built in sound. What is quite nice is that I connect all of my HDMI components to the tv, and then the tv has a single digital out that feeds my audio receiver. Perfect setup!

What's great about it: Picture in high def jumps out at you
What's not so great: I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that - The TV had a mind of its own

"I bought this TV from Best Buy in June 2009.

First the bad: Shortly after the initial set up, the TV would start cycling through the menu choices all on its own once or twice a day. I thought maybe there was interference causing it. So, I started taking batteries out of other remotes, turning off other electronics, etc. Since it was only once or twice a day, it was not too obnoxious. But I should have brought it back within Best Buy’s 30-day exchange guarantee because it started to get worse after the 30 days. But I live 90miles from a Best Buy, so doing an exchange is not trouble free. When I finally called Best Buy, I was told that I had to go through Samsung for warranty work, even though I had bought the five-year Geek Squad service agreement. I had read horror stories online about Samsung’s service department, so I was not happy. But Samsung did get a service technician out within 14 days. He put a new control board in and it seemed to work. But shortly after he left, the TV went into the Store Demo mode all on its own. I could not even get out of it by using the remote. I had to get up and physically touch the TV to stop the cycle and then use the remote to reset it for home use. The touching made me think that maybe a better ground will solve the problem but it did not. To make matters worse, the TV would go into Store Demo mode dozens of times a day. They had actually made it worse! Samsung got a different service tech out within 2 weeks. He put a new turner in and it seems to work. But, alas, shortly after he left, it started doing its Store Demo mode all on its own again. Samsung finally had a firmware update that I tried to no avail. After another two weeks, the third time out, the service tech put in a new remote control sensor and a new touch pad control sensor on the TV. It has worked ever since without cycling through any modes. But the TV will not memorize or retain any of my custom settings after the TV is turned off. Sometimes the TV will blink black while I am watching it and lose its settings. I have not called Samsung back because I am happy just to finally have a TV that I can watch. And, like the first time they came out, I am afraid that they could make it worse if they work on it again. If I insist on a replacement, I am not guaranteed a new one. I would probably get someone else’s returned set. My guess is that the original problem had to do with a defective touch sensor on the TV panel. The sensor is actually a heat sensor and that is why it would stop its cycling when I touched the frame.

The other bad: The TV sound is simply awful. I expected that from reading other reviews but I am not one to want to run my 500-watt surround sound system just to watch news. So, I bought a cheap self-powered stereo speaker box that could be plugged into the TV’s external sound mini jack. That works great for everyday watching of news and TV shows. I wish the TV had more than one component video input. But I would have had to buy a component video switching box anyway for my three older non-HDMI components.

Now the good: The TV’s high def picture is simply one of the best I have ever seen. There is absolutely no ghosting as others have complained. The blacks have the deepest contrasts of even a plasma screen. I enjoy the fact that the TV is not an energy hog (and I am not an eco-freak). The Samsung service people were very nice and understanding at all times. I cannot fault the service people in anyway. That being said, I will not buy a Samsung again.

What's great about it: Fantastiic picture, setup, remote control
What's not so great: edge backlighting is a distraction, sound quality is "typical" for flat panels

"I love this TV, and would buy it again given the deal I got before X-mas.

(If money was no object though, I would have bought the 8500 in a heartbeat to get full LED backlight and avoid edge "spotlight" issues during black background scenes)

With that said, here's a non-partial review after owning for a month:

1) picture quality is absolutely amazing -- crisp, off angle viewing is great, can't see blur, almost like 3-d
2) during black background scenes (which is very common), edge backlights shine like spotlights from all corners, and middle top & bottom. Once you notice this, it's always there "staring" at you. More annoying than anything else given the price and what you expect from such a great TV. Likely friends coming over would never notice -- but you will.
3) TV looks like fine art hanging on the wall (great job installing geek squad)
4) sound quality is what it is -- typical for a flat panel TV -- hard to hear voice playback without turning up volume. It's good enough, but I'm really considering buying a bose cinemate to get sound quality that equals the picture quality.
5) remote control is great -- don't have to point directly at TV to work

What's not so great: Owned this TV for slightly over a month now, haven't found anything "not so great" yet.

"My husband is picky beyond belief. He finds fault with everything, but with this TV all he has said, (multiple times now) is that the picture is unbelievably amazing! I would have to agree. Color appears true and great quality. Clarity is unbelievable especially in HD. Very happy with the TV overall. Would recommend it to anyone."

What's great about it: Picture, easy setup, WiFi connection to home computer
What's not so great: I have not heard the speakers. I use an amp/receiver

"We are completely satisfied with this TV. The picture quality is uncomparable. It almost looks 3D. We got a really nice Blu-Ray player included with the tv that is awesome.

Blu-Ray looks completely real. We love the wireless that we can connect to our home computer WiFi and watch our videos, pictures, and listen to music that is on our computer in a different room.

Easy setup for everything. I didn't even know it had speakers as we use our surround sound system, so I can't really review the quality of the speakers.

Thinner than our framed pictures in the house. Great viewing at any angle. Very little reflection during day use.

We are thrilled with this tv. Best we have ever had.

What's not so great: sound

"I just purchased the 7100 55 inch LED from Samsung over the Thanksgiving weekend for a great price, $2199.00. I was going to buy this tv eventually so I figured I would save 600 bucks and get it now. The picture is great, blue ray movies are amazing. 120hz looks great for basketball and football games. The sound is mediocre as in most LCD tvs usually are. 2749 was a bit pricey but for 2200 it was a great deal"

What's great about it: The picture is clean and bright and detailed. One of the best I've ever seen.
What's not so great: Sound, but this is understandable, especially if wall mounted.

"I looked around, and the best bang for the buck seemed to be this model.
I liked the idea that it had direct internet connectivity, as well as all of the features in the 6000 series. Clean picture with none of the artifacting or light/color bleed mentioned about SAMSUNG monitors seen so far.

This unit is BRIGHT! I have to tune it down for fear of retinal burn from 12' away! The viewing angle is awesome! Up, down or side to side, the picture remains viewable from almost 180 degrees, with no or little degrigation.

Insofar as the much touted INTERNET connectivity.... Meh. I'm not a great proponent of Yahoo!, so the reliance of this unit on them for content (there are others but many are missing) is a minus, thus my rating of 4 for features. As of now you cannot stream HULU, NBC, FOX or ABC with the present incarnation of the software.

Sound. Not the greatest in the world, but not bad. I've tried this panel in three configurations. Against the wall, 1' out and 3' out, in a 12' listening space. The rear mounted speakers seem to work the best at the 1' - 18' from the wall. Anything more, and the sound has no separation, anything less and you have to listen at 50% volume or better.

As of now, I am happy with this unit. However the very limited internet connectivity makes me less happy about my choice of the 7100 over the 6000 series Samsung. My hope is that the online offerings will continue to grow.

What's great about it: Simply everything
What's not so great: Price maybe

"Well, Samsung did to other TV makers what apple did to the discman. They have set the bar so high, only paper TV will break it. Over the Air TV on HD is so sharp I ask myself what the people complaining expect. I'm not a gamer but my panasonic BD player turns my living room to a movie theater. The internet connectivity is so smooth.... With my uverse package, i couldn't ask for more. This was my wish for this year and I am glad I looked past all the tempting XBRs with their sky high prices. Way to go and Thumbs up SAMSUNG. You definitely rule.
My daughter already loves the Boowa Kwala song and looks fwd to it everytime I sit her infront of the TV. The 30W speakers arent that bad. I can easily watch the news at volume setting 6 only. Wow... I am glad for my choice. Go for it if you can afford it! The difference between this and the 240 HZ one ??? Hmmm , unless you have cat eyes, I don't see what all those experts out there are seeing. This exceeds my expectations so no noise here.......

There was a lot of uneven white light throughout. This could be seen in dark scenes and on the black borders. I took it back and got the 860 series 58" Plasma from Best Buy and never looked back! Get that instead. It's basically the same price but you get so much more in picture quality.

What's great about it: The picture is absolutely mind-blowing
What's not so great: Paying for stuff you'll never use

"W-O-W! This TV is by far the most amazing thing I have ever seen. It looks 10X better than it did in the store! I have DirecTV and all the High Def channels are crystal clear. I also have the PS3 and the blu-ray and video games are awesome! I am so glad I purchased this TV, it really is amazing.

The cons I would say is paying for stuff you'd never use. It has some thing called "widgets" which is games and cooking recipes etc. I mean, it sounds great, and maybe some people will use it, but I never will, and I'd rather just pay less and have it strictly for television. It also comes with other stuff like a "mini" remote etc. I can't help but think how much cheaper the TV would be without these but oh well. This is a minor con though.

Bottom line, if you have the money, buy this TV. I did a lot of research, and although the LED's are new, it surpasses any LCD and Plasma out there right now.

What's great about it: Picture is real looking, Geek squad set up, no problems
What's not so great: Nothing

"Purchased Samsung 7100 LED TV, BostonTvee Sound Bar,Insignia Blu-Ray DVD, Stand all from Best Buy. Geek Squad set it all up, on time, polite and no problems.Note when you buy the HDMI cables, get 8 feet- 4 feet to short for stand set up and to be able to hide wires.Sound with the sound bar is awsome. I took down my Yamaha surround sound. Plus it looks good!"
