What's great about it: Has a great look and features. The price was also outstanding!
What's not so great: I would have like a 120 Hz or higher, but I could not beat the price on this one.

"Some picture fuziness on a standard digital cannel but not bad. On a HD station the picture looks great. Sound is pretty good too. Over all this is a great produce for a great price."

"This tv is great. Got this tv for only about $1000 after tax and everything. Xbox, PS3, and football looks simply amazing on this television set. It is a must to have a high definition cable or satellite provider because it is amazing. Although the new 120Hz or 240 Hz technology is not implemented this tv looks fantastic during fast action scenes. Get this tv while it was on sale you will not regret it!!!"

What's great about it: All is impressive for 3 to 6 months
What's not so great: 3 to 6 months after purchase, the HDMIs stop functioning or cross-feed, resulting in poor picture quality and low or no

"HDMI ports lock up after 3 to 6 months. Only way to fix this is to replace TV's motherboard.

Visit http://forums.cnet.com/5208-4_102-0.html?messageID=3219596#3219596

Several reviews discuss the increasing problem Samsung has with the HDMI technology. In summary, the HDMI ports either cross-talk or stop working altogether. The picture quality resultingly goes worse than standard definition TVs. Samsung has not made any efforts to fix their HDMI problems to this date."

"This set is truly amazing. From watching professional sports in HD and Blu-ray movies to the display from my XBox, this display far surpasses any competitive model researched. Awesome television !!!!!! I added a Boston Acoustics home theater system (sound bar and sub-woofer) and this is the best viewing / listening experience that I believe I have ever had."

What's great about it: Picture Quality, Value, Everything
What's not so great: Sound

"My intention was to buy a Sony Bravia but after much pondering i decided to go with this samsung tv. The picture quality seems to pop a little more then the bravia. Picture is amazing when playing blue ray's and in HD on Direct TV. I'm very glad I decided to go with this tv. I feel like i got a great deal for my budget and would recomend this to anyone trying to stay under or close to $1000."

What's great about it: Price, Picture Quality
What's not so great: Sound could be a little better

"Recently purchased this with the Blue Ray player ($999) special. The picture quality is amazing both with DvDs and HDTV. Even the non HDTV stations look remarkable. This is really worth the price. Very lightweight as well. The only issue I have is the sound, although good, could be better. But that will easily be fixed with sound system. I recommend this 100%."

What's great about it: Good Picture when new.
What's not so great: Short lifespan

"I paid $2000 for the Samsung 46 inch LCD 26 months ago. The screen went blue so I took it to the repair shop. They told me the panel was bad and that a new one, if it could even be found, would cost between $600 and $1000 dollars. This does not include the cost to do the repair. I cannot recommend this TV unless your a looking to spend a lot of money on a very big paperweight. The TV repair shop told me that he see's Samsung more than any other Brand.
I called Samsung and they were no help. They asked me if I was sure the TV was plugged in... come on!

What's great about it: Relatively inexpensive, Decent amount of inputs, swivel stand, very solid picture
What's not so great: Difficult time finding perfect picture settings, No S-Video inputs, Remote

"I purchased this TV about 2-3 weeks ago, and so far I am very pleased. I spent many, many hours reading reviews on various Plasmas and LCDs within this price range/size. As well a few hours comparing TV's within the store. After much deliberation this seemed to be the obvious choice.

Setup was quick and easy. Thanks in part to the swivel stand. (Which I didn't realize how much I would appreciate until I had it.) The inputs are very accessible and are also spaced apart well. The lack of S-Video inputs bothers me a bit but, you can always get an S-Video to Component cable so its not a huge loss. I can't imagine the average consumer would use S-Video now anyways.

The black levels are nice, and far better than I would have expected from a relatively cheap set. The whites are also great. As to be expected. The only trouble I've had with colors is skin tones. There's an option in the picture settings to adjust skin tones but, it doesn't seem to work universally. After a lot of tinkering with the color balance itself, it seems to be at a more than acceptable but, not absolutely perfect level.

Setting the brightness doesn't seem to be quite so universal as well. Now, don't get me wrong. I don't watch TV, movies, and play video games all on the same video settings but, there can be a noticeable difference from game to game or movie to movie. Its not a ridiculous amount in the least. Just a slight adjustment here and there and it looks great.

The picture settings are pretty expansive. More than I expected. You can easily adjust your black levels, and white saturation. There's plenty more options and if you know what you're doing, you'll definitely put them to use.

Minus those two minor omissions, the picture is fantastic. Great color balance, clarity, contrast and sharpness. I use my Xbox 360, and HD-DVD player via HDMI and the quality is stunning. You haven't seen a movie until you watch it in HD.

I honestly don't understand what people are griping about with the speakers. Are you going to be able to crank the volume up all the way with scenes that have deep bass? No. With a TV like this, you shouldn't be watching everything through the TV speakers anyways. They're more than capable of every day use. There's an equalizer with limited but decent settings as well as surround sound simulation to make it more than audibly pleasing. Get a decent(doesn't even have to be expensive) 5 or 7.1 surround sound for movies/games and you're set.

The remote has irritated me a few times. The receiver is underneath the right side of the screen and you practically have to point the remote directly at it or it won't receive the signal. Its not always so picky but, it can be frustrating.

Feature wise there's nothing special about it. Everything you need, and a couple extras that you may or may not like. There's edge enhancement, which I'm not too fond of though some people may enjoy it. More expensive sets definitely offer more bells and whistles though, I personally see no need for things like browsing the internet on my TV.

All this marketing about a 60, 120, or 240hz LCD is not as significant if you might think. I did notice a difference between the 60hz and 120hz model but, the difference is almost negligible. I'd say a good 85-90% of the time the blurring you see is the video itself, not the TV. You also really have to pay attention or want to see it to really notice it the few times its actually this TV. The $400 step up for the 120hz model just isn't worth it in my opinion.

Overall, this is a great TV and you can't beat it for the price, performance and size. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking to get a solid TV.

What's great about it: Picture Quality
What's not so great: No Complaints

"I bought this TV weeks ago (Father's Day weekend). I wanted to wait to write a review based on my like/dislike of the TV. I don't know how/why people have complained about their purchase. I saved 10 percent on my purchase with the Father's Day promotion they were running. That in itself paid for the Black Tie protection. Sure, someone can pay a significant amount more for another TV, but only to get very little improvement (if any) over what this TV offers. My wife and I stood for hours looking and tweeking at the Sony's and the newer version of this model only to decide that this TV was as good (if not better) than the others on the wall (Cheaper Too). We already had a 40" Samsung, but we wanted another TV so she could watch TV while I play my 360. So of course I went bigger (and better). And we do have surround sound (as someone had suggested) so the TV's internal speakers mean very little to me. People need not complain about this purchase. If they had round about $3000 then they would have bought Samsung's LED (but they didn't). In my case, however, for $1200, this TV and the Black Tie protection was an amazing buy. Save yourself money and dissapointment and buy Samsung..."

What's great about it: the specifications exceed the way you tweak it... great picture.
What's not so great: you have to adjust the settings out of the box.

"First of all, this television automatically detects the frame rate and resolution through the hdmi connection and syncs to it. 120hz hdtv was invented because it is he lowest common denominator of 24 (blu ray frame rate) and 30 (tv frame). no consumer visual media is over 60hz, so this set shows objectively whatever media you feed it and you don't have to think about it. if you think a 240hz television that artificially enhances the picture is better, fine.

you can get a tv with higher native and dynamic contrast, but the fact is that i don't even turn those features up all the way on this tv. just put it in movie mode, set the black tone to dark and the dynamic contrast to medium. i haven't decided whether i like the edge enhancement.

bottom line? sure there you'll notice imperfections, but it's more likely that it's because of the digital media (the particular blu ray or cable show) than the tv itself.

i am not rating the sound of this. buy some nice speakers and a good receiver.
