What's great about it: everything!
What's not so great: no wifi
I love this device it makes working with photoshop so much easier. There are a ton of quick keys that make switching back and forth from one command to another a braes. The only thing better would be if this came with wifi.

What's great about it: Precision, sensitivity
What's not so great: Pen rubber collects dust :)
I've tried two tablets of different brands. It was like scratching letters on a stone with wooden stick in comparison with Intuos experience. With Intuos4 you can feel what are you drawing. I think it's the best choice for people seriously involved in art and design.

What's great about it: Easy to use, satisfying.
It Comes with changeable tips for pen. It Usa sleek and rhoda cord is nice and long. I almost like our bet tet than the cintique because it is smoother to draw on compared to a glass screen.

What's great about it: Everything about it
What's not so great: Nothing, not a single thing
Well, I've been dabbling in digital media design for a long time, and my first tablet was the VisTablet original, which was a good tablet for when I was a beginner. As I got more serious about my work, I began to notice that working with the VisTablet was not as great as it had originally seemed, and although it was a good tablet it lacked the features that I required.
So I started my search for a new Tablet. I knew from the get-go that I wanted to get an Intuos4, but I had been somewhat hesitant on the price (since at my current rate of pay, ~$400 is a lot of money.) Well, I decided to take the plunge - if it was a good investment, great - if not, lesson learned.
I'm happy to say that I took the plunge, made the purchase, and my work has improved 200%. The sensitivity of the pen is amazing, the active area is the perfect size for any project no matter how big or small, and the smart keys on the side (including the touch pad) are just amazing tools to have at your disposal.
All of this adds up to a tablet that will not only change the way you work and draw, but will change the way you look at digital art.

What's great about it: smooth and easy to use, quick and easy set up
What's not so great: usb cable wears out quickly, scratches easily
I bought my intuos4 towards the end of this past March. I was very excited to get a new drawing tablet because my old tablet had broke. As soon as I got home and had opened the package, I installed my tablet onto my macbook and began to draw. I was very satisfied at first with the drawing tablet. It was very smooth and easy to use. After a few months went by, the USB cable started acting funky, and just today, the USB cable broke. I hadn't noticed until it was too late, but my tablet didn't include the extra USB cable that it was supposed to come with, so now I have nothing to replace the broken cable. I just wonder what Wacom was thinking when they designed this tablet. They put the USB cable on the side, when it should have been put on the top. I am very disappointed in Wacom. They're products have been of really bad quality lately.

What's great about it: pressure sensitivity, laptop compatibility, overall design, it's light weight, easiness to produce professional work
What's not so great: price, catches fingerprints, easiness to accidently press pen's programmable buttons, nib wear
Overall, this is the best birthday gift I've gotten hands down!!! After a day, I wonder why I never owned one sooner.
Wacom makes excellent tablets. All of them are top of the line and the intos4 is no exception. This tablet works like an absolute dream come true. As for me, I was torn between this tablet and the Wacom bamboo fun since this is my FIRST tablet and also a beginning graphic design artist. I heard many reviews stating that if you were a beginner in the tablet sector then bamboo fun was the way to go. That may have been true for some but I'm so glad I stuck with just getting this tablet. It took me about an hour to get use to hand eye coordination since you do NOT look down at the tablet to use it. (You look at the screen). I did a few drawings and after that first hour I pretty much had everything down and the third picture I drew looked very professional!
One thing I liked a lot was the fact that it worked so perfectly with my laptop. That was my biggest worry. I have a 16 inch hp G60-440US laptop and I wasn't sure if this medium tablet would work ok on my laptop since I have seen many people using this medium tablet on their 20 inch and above desktops! I know that Wacoms intuos4 small worked fine for laptops but the size of the active area (roughly 6 x 4) was just too small for me. But, I found that my laptop is formated in HD widscreen as is the tablet so it ended up working perfect. The active area (8.8 x 5.5) is not too big but big enough to handle comfortably. I would reconmend that artists who use A4 paper or have wide strokes consider a intous4 large instead of medium since the active screen wouldn't run out on you while you try to stroke.
Another thing I liked was the overall design. It's incredibly sleek and black is just a great add on. The tablet is surprisingly not heavy at all. I found that I worked comfortably with the tablet on my lap and my laptop on my left side (I'm right handed). This awkward postioning was made easy with the particularly long USB cord. I also want to point out that it works for both left handed and right handed people. Also, the feel of the pen was very nice. It was very comfortable though I would say that you have to be careful how you hold it because the two programmable buttons on the pen can be easy to accidently press if not careful.
Oh, and the pressure sensitivity blew me away! I barely had to use opacity or change brushes. For the third picture I drew, I did a portrait without having to change brushes! It also works great on Gimp which is another photo editing program I have besides photoshop. The only thing about Gimp is that you can't utilize all of the expression keys and the zoom, scroll, and picture rotation don't work on Gimp. (Which doesn't suck that bad because Gimp has these tools on the program itself so you just have to do some manual penning.)
The one thing that quickly became annoying was the smudge marks from fingerprints. Though the design is attractive to the eye, the area where the expression keys are is a very glossy black plastic. It picks up fingerprints like bees pick up pollen. So as you can probably imagine, that area is covered with fingerprints. I also noticed some prints on the actual active area. That starts getting really annoying after awhile. But it's impossible to prevent while trying to work comfortably. Another problem was the nib wear. I did start seeing minor nib wear. Very minor but it was still there. I have only been using this product for a couple of days too. So I know that I will be going through nibs like how paris hilton goes through clothes (No offense intended!). That may prove to be a problem since I am a college student. I can't afford to buy nibs all the time when I have other more important expenses to take care of first. But since this is my first tablet, I'm not as heated with the nib wear like those who have upgraded from an intous2 or 3 where the nibs lasted for years. With that note, I'd also like to say that you better take care of your tablet and try not to lose things like nibs and the pen because they are expensive! (Pens run for like $99)
But in the end, despite minor things, this tablet is the way to go. It beats a mouse even on a bad day. The price is quite hefty. (I am a college student.. anything over $50 is hefty..even if that much!) If it wasn't for the birthday money I got (and it was a lot), I probably wouldn't have been able to purchase this which would be bad because, I don't know how I could have been doing graphic designing in the fall without this. But I can honestly say that you get great quality with this product. I also would tell anyone interested in digital art to use this pronto!

What's great about it: This tablet makes working in photoshop much quicker
What's not so great: Price is a little steep but you get a high quality product
I've just started a photo studio and have been doing all of my photo editing on an imac. I work primarily with Adobe Photoshop. Using the mouse for some editing got to be very tedious and hard to control. My son told me that using a tablet is much more efficient and easier to handle when working with layers and other editing tools. After much research, I decided to try the Wacom Intuos 4 Medium Tablet. What a great tool!! It's fun to use and extremely versatile. I have just scratched the surface of its capabilities and I'm very impressed with the quality. I would definitely recommend this tablet to anyone working with photo editing or graphic design.

What's great about it: sensitive
What's not so great: nips wear out easily
If you use bamboo product before, you will see that bamboo just a real toy. This intuos very sensitive but nibs were very easily wear out, that's not a big deal at all. If you are a pro artist and must use this very day, after one week you must change 1 or 2 nib, and after 1 or 2 months you pay 10 bucks for a pack of new nibs. However, I really fall in love with this tablet but I must pay 120 bucks after 1 year of using it :(

Excellent tablet and great for with Photoshop. I would prefer that the cable plugged in on the other side so that it would be more out of the way, but this may be the most valuable tool for use with design software.

What's great about it: VERY easy to set up on a Mac.
What's not so great: Wish it had just a bit more tablet space to move around on... but works fantastically well.
This Wacom tablet is an incredibly great product for any graphic designer out there. Its ease of use and set up gets you going very quickly. Tons of options and capabilities bring the tablet to life, too.

What's great about it: Easy to set up and fun to use.
What's not so great: I wish that it came with more brushes
I am retired and wanted to enhance my photo's. After reading many reviews I decided on the Wacom tablet. Then I had to find the size that would fit my 20 inch monitor and found that the Intuos4 Medium was recommended. As I use it, I see that space on my desk would be unusable if I purchased anything larger. Next my attention turned to price, which almost made me take the smaller tablet, but having reward coupons helped offset the cost. Lastly, the ease of use. Using the tablet is easy, but learning what brushes to use is another matter.. I have Photoshop CS4 and learning to draw is a challenge but if I wanted simple, I would buy a box of crayons.

What's great about it: Quick and easy to setup on Windows 7, pen is easy to get used to
What's not so great: The button on the pen is kind of annoying, but you just turn it around so that you don't click it
I actually borrowed my buddy's Intuos4 and loved it! I didn't think that I would be able to get to used to it this quickly! I wanted to get the same one but wanted to test it out before I spent the money- it's definitely worth it. I think however that I'll end up buying the smaller one- this size is nice, but I think the smaller one would work just as well!
**In the photo attached.** I borrowed my friend's Intuos4 to draw the hair, eyelashes, eyebrows and the tie. I also used it to fine-tune the skin a little bit. I couldn't have done those parts without the tablet and the pen was super smooth and easy to get used to!
