"bought this to replace the Insignia that I returned because it wouldn't play some blurays I really liked that player and even tried to replace it with another Insignia before buying this unit. This plays everything it claims works well with Samsung TV absolutely no problems but center speaker could be a little louder"

What's great about it: Nice looking System What's not so great: Confusing setup, WTH with the unit Buttons
"Bought the HT1250 to pair up with my Samsung 52" LCD. Installation of cables and speakers was a breeze. I've had the unit now for a couple of weeks and for the most part pleased with the system. Some Quirks: The buttons exist on top of the unit. When you move the unit to plug in another cable, your hand/fingers touch the very sensitive buttons and power on/off, eject the tray etc. Annoying. The remote from the HT is similar to my TV remote, however if you want to bring up the TV source menu, you have to press the "TV" button, then "source". The user has to indicate which device he/she wants the remote button to function with. This does not appear to be the case with volume, just menus. I was thinking i was going to connect this system up to my network with a wireless USB. However, in very fine print in the user manual, you can't use just any wireless USB, you have to BUY samsung's wireless USB. So I hard wired. No biggie. Also, make sure that if you want sound to come from the TV through the HT, you HAVE to have a digital optical audio cable. My son's xbox is connected into the TV. TV Shows won't work either. So goto monoprice-dot-com and get your cables (way cheaper than retail). Still not fully understanding the way the HT shows up in my source list (there is a HDMI2 and a Anynet). I thought they were the same?? I'll figure it out. Over all, nice system when paired with your samsung TV. Need to figure out how to mount the rear speakers. They don't seem to have a standardized back for a wall mount. Still think its a good buy!"

"I got this to go with my Samsung tv. After purchasing the seperate wireless receiver for the rear speakers and the Audio digital cable, I finally got it up and running fully. The remote is not always recognized by the receiver. The sound quality is really good for the size of speakers. The ipod hook up is a nice touch."

"Purchased unit shortly after X-mas and have proved to be very difficult to use. Unit is connected to a Samsung TV, however the "anynet" capabilities do not always work- disconnects from "anynet" when switching input. Switching between system and other inputs causes issues as well. At times it takes at least 10 minutes to get sound Once sound is on the system does sound and operate well. Also NO Audio in connections. Volume button is on top of machine (a large round button) which makes it impossible to stack other components on top. BAD design."

"I've had this home theater system for a couple of months now and I'm impressed! The THX Surround Sound is as good as being in a high-end theater! I connected my Sony multichannel SACD player to it and it's like sitting in the orchestra pit! My only dissapointment is that the wireless receiver for the rear speakers has to be purchased seperately and right now, they are on back order."

"I bought this unit less than a month ago which had an older firmware version on it, it turned off randomly once a day so I returned it today hoping to get one with the newer firmware release. To my luck I did. I now have youtube, pandora, netflix, and blockbuster. Sound quality is very good especially for the sale price I got it for, $400. This system is great for smaller rooms, it has more than enough power, larger rooms I would recommend getting a component system. The blue-ray quality is great and the up-conversions look better than my sony all-in-one I previously had. Looks like Samsong figured out the problems with the firmware and released units with 1.08 (my previous I think had 1.06). I tried to update when I got home and said it was all up to date. Overall very happy. If you are having tin like sounds out of the center speaker... move it on to a solid piece of wood. I originally had it on my T.V. stand and it was making that sound, I moved it to the wood table and great sound."

"Fairly easy setup, Sounds like a $400 setup. I really wanted a system that turns the amp. (sound) on and off with the TV. This set only turns off with the TV, When you use the Blue-Ray player or use BD wise and then shut it down to watch TV it defaults to Channel 4 on the TV instead of finding my signal on the HDMI input. That's annoying. '"

"I have a insignia blue-ray player. On it i can see any of movies from Netflix.I can screen over 100's of movie I want to see and choice which one I want to see.With samsung I need a computer to set up the movies I want to see and put them on query.So I have to be going back and forth all the time. The sub is very small with a small speaker.The bass is very low.Speakers are small too.On the wireless wifi, You need to buy another part for it in order to work.This is the worse one I have ever seen.I took it back."

"Bought the unit and set it up. The system began having glitches in the picture and sound then a few minutes later would freeze. I sent it back to Samsung and they took over a month to get it back to me. When it showed up I hooked it up and it did the exact same thing it was dong before I sent it in. Customer service was aweful and did nothing to help solve my problem. Many other people I have talked to said they have had bad experiences with Samsungs customer service as well."

"We bought this on a black friday deal, and couldn't beat the price! The sound, picture, and features were great for an all-in-one system. We really liked the Pandora/Netflix streaming options. Unfortunately 24 days after purchase the Blu-ray player froze. This appeared to be a fairly common problem after googling it and consulting Samsung's website. We chose to send it in for repairs rather than return in because the price was so good. Hopefully it comes back quickly and stays operational!"

What's great about it: Love the little great-sounding speakers with convenient connections. What's not so great: You can't see the controls on the unit! No AM radio. No remote speaker inputs.
"A blu-ray DVD player that lets you listen to Pandora, watch YouTube videos, stream instant Netflix and Blockbuster movies! What's not to like! Little things, like a minimal Netflix interface (you can't add to your instant queue without going to a computer), clumsy search for YouTube, no AB speaker switch to hook up the kitchen speakers to the unit, and most significantly, almost invisible, touch sensitive, front panel controls. The unit looks great, which is why I guess they did it, but c'mon! In a cabinet, with my old eyes, I just start rubbing and poking until it does something. Or grab the remote.
I don't mean to carp. I like the unit. And almost every bit of packaging was recyclable! Is that unusual to Samsung? Or is that the new standard? 99% was hauled away for free via curbside recycling!"

"Scratched a brand new DVD to the point it won't work on a different dvd systems. Blue ray dvd doesn't always work. , 40 % of time it works...Did I mention this was purchsed in Mid Dec of 2009. The wireless option is nice.( netflix, BLOCKBUSTER, YOU TUBE,ETC) but the wireless adapter is $80.00. steep... When the system is working, its awesome.. so i conflicted about getting a another model or brand..."

"Bought this back in November, used it for a while with out many issues. I have the wireless adapter too, used netflix and pandora with no issues at all. Blu-ray froze once while watching movie, then pixely glitches through out every blu-ray after that. I returned today and exchanged for a new system (no problems with exchange). New system I got today was the 1250a, so it has youtube and blockbuster in addition to pandora and netflix. The firmware was already updated and all glitches and problems were gone. Sound is great, only complaint is that during movie previews the sound doesn't kick in, I think it is more of an encoding issue with the blu-ray. You do have to mess with sound setting every time you switch modes from blu ray to streaming or inputs. It would be nice if it had HDMI inputs, but the toslink inputs work for me. Overall great system for the price, if you are looking to buy one, buy a 1250a model, read the sticker on the box to find it, basically if it has youtube and blockbuster on it, that's the one you want."

What's great about it: To me the sound is great, and it was very easy to set up. What's not so great: Doesn't like to play DVD's and the speaker wires are too short.

The setup, overall sound, and the price were all great which would make me slightly recommend this product... but there is one major problem i've been encountering ever since i bought it.
This player does like take DVD's very kindly. By that i mean most of the time it takes a couple seconds, if not minutes to finally read and start playing the DVD. Some DVD's do not play at all on this player. If you have a slightly scratched DVD forget about it.
Blu-Ray discs start right up, but it does not like my DVD's for some reason... even brand new ones.
Also, the speaker wires are not long enough. The only way you could get the rear speakers set up properly is if your couches/chairs are set up closly to the tv. could use 10ft more cable per speaker"

Netflix and pandora are fantastic additions, and come off without a hitch, except if you have to go wireless; prepare to pay $60-$80 for $amsung's proprietary lan schtick or, IF YOU OWN A LAPTOP, set it up as network bridge, and jack it in when streaming. you'll thank me. go donate $20 to spca for me."
