What's great about it: Great picture, great price, so easy to set up.
What's not so great: no S-video, but that's all

"Just bought this yesterday and WOW!! Had it set up and running in less that 20 minutes. The picture is just great and the sound is awesome. We have it in the kitchen and level 18 is more than loud enough. Got it on sale with great financing (18mo/0 interest). Cannot say enough good things about this set. And it doesn't weigh a ton (like my old 36" set). LG makes sets that you DO NOT have to be a techie to set-up and use. This set is very user-friendly and I am definitely NOT a young, techie person. I do advise having someone to help you move it. It's not heavy, but it's just too wide for most peoples' arms to handle it safely."

"Its a great TV for the price. The picture is great. Sound is okay but I have it hooked up to a surround sound system. Was so easy to take out of the box and set up. Was up and running in a matter of minutes. Even a better TV if your lucky like me and get it on sale."

What's not so great: One of the hdmi inputs didn't connect but there are 2 others so not a big deal at the moment.

"I bought this 37'' tv after researching many tv's in the price range and size. This had one of the best pictures at the store. I have no complaints. The HD channels are great and the standard def are fine..this is my first HDTV so I may not be the best judge, but I'm completely satisfied. Also, the sound is great. Its only at 20% and it's more than loud enough.
Some people may want more inputs, but I only have a dvd player and a cable box so they are more than enough for me."

What's great about it: Price, Size, 1080P, Easy to use
What's not so great: Not very bright, Dark shots are very dark with low detail

"The screen looks very beautiful in 1080P with XBOX 360!
Uverse DVD Looks Good too. (10180i)

Even after using professional calibration tools, the bottom end of dark greys are cut off, so detail in dim shots is lost.
Dark Knight was hard to see details on.
(Whether you have adaptive contrast on or off...)

The screen is quite non-reflective, and works well in my white living room even at sunset. (Why I picked this set, apart from price.)

For the price you pay (when it is on sale..) I don't think you can get a much better TV of a similar size. (Maybe the Dynex 42" if you can find it in stock)

I'd say this is a great bargain for the price, but don't expect the picture to compete with high end sets."

"I settled on this TV after having anohter TV with awful menus. The menus on this TV are great and very user friendly.

However, I'm having a problem with this TV that I need to share with others to warn. Every couple of days, I get an error message on the screen that says Invalid format. The only think I can do to get it to come on is turn it on and off for 5-7 times. DirecTV says it's not them or their cable box. I replaced the HDMI cable that came from DirecTV with a store bought cable, and that has helped. But in the last few days I'm having this problem come back. I have also gotten the same error message when trying to connect the PC. My guess is the the circuit board or whatever you call the board where all the connections go is bad. All I know is it's time to get this repair or return going."

"I bought this TV a couple of months ago and I still haven't gotten over how awesome it is. This was my first HDTV and I researched for weeks on what to get. I paid $899 for it and it was worth every penny. I mostly watch standard cable on it and standard cable looks fine. The local HD channels look so nice and playing my xbox 360 on it is the best thing ever. Even the remote control is good it works without even without pointing at the TV. I was all worried about having to calibrate the TV's picture but the TV comes with "Picture Wizard" on it. Which is basically as good as a calibration DVD. So you can make sure your whites are white and your blues are blues. I didn't want to spend the extra $200 for the 120 hertz version. But I have seen some older lcd's that blur like crazy. Thank goodness this TV isn't bad at all. You really have to look for it on really fast motion action. PROBABLY ONE OF THE BEST 60 HERTZ LCD TVS OUT THERE."

"My favorite part of this TV is its outer appearance. Its style is a great addition to my apartment.. Some attributes that I found on this unit was the anti glare screen protector, which makes it easy to clean. TV looks bigger than 37"! Great Picture and I don't even have HD or a digital box... Its not outstanding like if it had and HD signal, but I've watched DVDs that made me smile because of how good they looked. Speakers are great for watching regular shows and news but not so great for movies. Overall I'm highly excited to have bought this tv.. I don't even care that it didn't fit in my entertainment center.. I would rather sell my entertainment center than to take back this tv.."

"Very happy with the picture and the amount of inputs. I especially love the optical out and dolby support. HD picture so far is great. I am using a receiver so I cannot vouch for the sound quality of the TV speaker.

I have only owned about a week and don't claim to be a tv expert, thus only giving it a 4 star and not 5 star rating."

But since i brought this into the house everything is better than his.

"Upgraded from a 26" tv on our dresser to this LG 37", mounted the tv on the wall across the room. WOW, what a nice addition to the bedroom. I was very apprehensive about the color settings. I went to CNET's website to look at the review. In thier review they give an extensive readout of the best professional setting they came up with. I used thier settings but did increase the brightness a little. Again, WOW. If you are not satisfied with your color settings...go to CNET's site, down by the picture area there is a TV screen you click on to give all the settings. Enjoy your TV, I know I am enjoying mine. Bought just the basic wall mount, makes the room look sharp, and uncluttered."

"I purchased this on 4/29/2009 at the Canton, OH Best Buy location on the Strip for $750 - It was on sale for $799.99, but I asked the guy what else he could do and this is what he offered, so I took it. I advise that you ask too at your location, because they can offer this price. This TV has outstanding color during daytime scenes. I just watched Star Wars III with an upscale DVD and HDMI cable, it was amazing. HOWEVER, during dark scenes you can actually see where the backlight lighting sources are located behind the panel. At first I thought it was the scene, but no... After several hours of testing during various other DVDs and other dark scenes, it's the backlight sources peaking through. I have a 32 inch Sharp LCD, two 19 inchers (Sony and LG), and a 13 inch Sharp... None of them are the backlight sources visible, so this was a rather large disappointment considering the technology should have evolved since I purchased my other sets 3 years ago. The sound of the TV is adequate, I mean, it's a TV... Not a Bose system, so you can't be too picky - It gets the job done, I can hear what I'm watching. There are a lot of options to adjust the color... Far too much in my opinion, I nearly lost my mind until I realized the default Standard setting is pretty dang perfect, so I simply increased the contrast to 100 percent, increased the brightness by 5 to 55 and lowered the sharpness to 50. I also turned down this fine line edge enhancer because I felt it was over exaggerating the effect and made the images look more grained up and static-like, adjusting this to low combined with a 50 sharpness fixed this. At the end of my first day with this set I'm happy with the unit - I don't recommend getting an LED LCD as consumers should boycott them until the prices match current LCDs. For one, LED backlights are not a new technology; therefore, no R&D money was spent developing this. Two, they cheaper than current LCD backlighting systems, so the manufacturer should pass these savings along to the consumer. Three, I'll rest my case by this example, and that's when Apple computer switched all of the laptops and desktops to LED backlighting systems, none of their products went up in price. So ask yourself, why are Samsung, Sony and LG LED TVs costing an arm and a leg. I hope this helped. Oh, by the way, Apple computers use LG LCD panels, which is why I decided on an LG. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase, but could not give it more than a 3 star review or recommending to a friend due to the backlight lighting sources showing through during dark scenes."

"I was searching for a new TV for my bedroom with a 40 inch in mind. I ended up buying this TV and i am so glad i did. After i adjusted the sound settings i have no issues what so ever with this TV. It is the perfect size and has a beautiful picture. The TV has alot of options for setting it up the exact way you want it with the ability to save your settings that you choose. I would reccomend this tv to anyone i knew"

"I bought this tv when it was on sale in november 2008. I was upgrading from a regular 24inch tv. I was originally looking at the 47 and 52 inch models, but I thought I should get something cheaper, because those tv's were twice as much. Well, when I took this home, it fit perfectly in my living room. I think a bigger tv would have been a little too big - I have just a one bedroom apartment. I love it, and I got a great price on it! I am glad I didn't go bigger, because this is perfect for me. Sometimes when I watch dvd's on it, I have to put the volume up pretty high, but I think I will get surround sound, which will be great to watch movies on. The picture quality is really nice too! I love it!"

"I was looking for a 37 inch flat screen for awhile , went to best buy and the sales rep was very informative helpful curtious. when igot the tv home i was pleaseantly surprised how easy the set up was and only took afew minutes. picture quality great....!!!!! (1080p) sound is really good but quality wise it could be improved alittle more...no big deal though its still awesome.it also has excellent features on the menu. the swivel stand is awesome,no matter where you sit or from whatever angle you sit at the pic quality is still great. i also like the thin body type. as well as the thin border around the front it just makes the screen look much bigger than a 37 inch wow illusions are great arent they.....!!! all and all its a wonderful tv and also a wonderful buy you will not be disappointed at all in my opinion.i bought this tv on 3/23/09 enjoy!!!!!"
