This was a fantastic cyber Monday buy. Quality was much better than expected, the setup was a cinch. The remote and screen controls are easy to use and understand.
I anticipated a long load time for Blu-Rays and this player has a very acceptable load time.
The YouTube and netflix streaming are a fantastic bonus!
My only complaint is that the USB port will only read pictures or music, no videos.
What's great about it: easy to set up, great price, superb picture
What's not so great: the usb port only reads pics & music, no video

Upgraded from a Panasonic Blu-ray player (moved to bedroom). Night and day difference.
The LG was a cinch to set up. Plugged the ethernet cable and power in. Connected Blu-ray player to my Yamaha audio-video receiver with an HMDI cable, and the receiver to the TV with another HMDI cable. Upon turning on, machine automatically found a firmware update and invited me to update, which I did. Then a simple setup and I found myself looking at the home screen, including icons for Netflix and Youtube. Was very easy to sign in to my Netflix account (the main reason I picked the LG player).
Discs load much faster than in my old player, and the remote is easy to use and intuitive.
I give it my highest recommendation, a pretty tough standard for this picky engineer.
What's great about it: Easy Setup, Great Picture, Terrific Value
What's not so great: Can't think of one thing

I have been using this Blu-Ray player for over a year and it has yet to encounter a problem when playing a movie. The Netflix and other streaming services work fine (although I wish they would have issued an update to allow Netflix browsing instead of having to set up through the online queue). Regardless, if you happen to come across one of these at what I am sure will be a great price, it is worth it still.
What's great about it: Picture quality, reliability, streaming
What's not so great: No Netflix browsing (must use online queue)

I bought this as an open box item without a power cable and remote. Not a problem as my LG TV remote worked fine, and the power cable was inexpensive and easy to find. The player is an older model without a lot of bells and whistles, but everything works great and a great picture. I do wish it had wireless networking, but for the price, I cannot complain.
What's great about it: quality equipment

I just found that the menu didn't have as advanced a controls I was looking for. There were some issues getting it to output 1080p, and get the sound to work with my receiver. The web apps work fine, and there are just way too many firmware updates! But, the picture quality is great and it's a great stand alone BD player!

What's not so great: Menu ease of use

I bought the LG 370 based largely on the recent review in Consumer's Reports. The picture it produces is excellent for Blu-ray as well as conventional DVD's. I found the remote to fell kinda cheap although it does what it needs to do. My old DVD player provided options to display time remaining, track/title number, etc. and the LG 370 Blu-ray player doesn't provide that capability, and I find that I miss it more than I expected.
What's great about it: Nice, simple blu-ray player
What's not so great: Limited features, cheesy remote

I got this as an open box value for $125, wanted a stand-alone player so I wouldn't wear out my PS3 so I picked it up. This player has very low volume on my Home Theatre System, so much so that when using it I have to turn up my volume to near 50 to get good sound, tried different settings in the menus but after researching online I found out everyone has this problem with this player. Picture quality was good, no complaints there, although DVDs look a little pixelated. I am returning this and getting a different brand, unless someone at the store can assure me a different LG player won't have the same problems. If you don't have a Home Theatre or just want a player for your bedroom, this one may be fine for you.
What's great about it: Nice Picture, Internet connection
What's not so great: Very low volume when hooked to home theatre, remote and menus are lacking

First of all to the genius HTScustomInstaller there is an eject button on the front. It's located on the bottom left of the gray bezel that surrounds the power button on the front. If you push it...SURPRISE! the disc tray is ejected and you can place the desired DVD/CD/Blu-Ray disc and even remove it when you are done!
This Blue-Ray player doesn't disappoint. No problems after 6+ months of use. The picture quality is excellent and the up convert looks great for conventional DVD. The menu can be glitchy and freezes on occasion but not enough to be frustrating. Setting up Netflix was relatively easy and it is a great feature if you don't feel like going out and renting movies. That being said I have to shut off any electronics (PCs and XBOX 360) in the house that are using the my network or else the quality and speed of the streaming suffers. Not a huge problem unless you want to watch a movie and someone else wants to surf/game. Streaming quality is average (standard definition) although some programs are available in HD and that quality is outstanding. Setup of the unit was easy for me although I am more tech inclined than your average person.
Overall this is a very good unit although with the recent price drop of the comparable Sony I might consider that first since Blu-Ray is their baby. When reading reviews keep in mind that there are a lot of foolish/ignorant people out there and that no matter who makes the product there are usually a few lemons in the bunch.
What's great about it: Blu-Ray Resolution, Streams Netflix, Modern appearance
What's not so great: Menus can be clunky and freeze sometimes, Netflix quality o.k.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I am very pleased with this unit. Has played all discs that I have tried, including AVCHD format. BD disc load times are good. Picture quality has been excellent, with very good upscaling of dvds. Netflix and Youtube have worked fine. The remote is uncluttered and easy to memorize. Some reviewers said that unit has no eject button, this is not true. It is well camouflaged...lower left corner of the bezel around the power button. My only complaint is that the USB port should be in back...for aesthetic reasons.
What's great about it: Great picture, Netflix, Youtube
What's not so great: USB port should be in back

Really love my new toy. I have wanted to be able to streamline movies from Netflix to my tv instead of watching them on my computer for a while. Works really well, simple to operate. I also like that I do not have to replace all my existing DVD's as that would be quite costly.
What's great about it: Allows me to play dvds, and streamline Netflix and Utube to my tv.
What's not so great: When streamlining movies from Netflix, if there is an issue with your internet provider it can disrupt transmission.

I have had this unit for about 6 mounths now and it works great,I have been watching a lot of NETFLIX on it and that work great too.
The biggest complaint I have is no WiFi but I got around that with a NETGEAR eathernet power line adapter (it costs $99) it works great, you can hook it up strait to a router if you want , Wi Fi would have been better.
The remote is ok,nouthing to brag about.(standerd remote)
What's great about it: Good BD player and NETFLIX,YOU TUBE,ETC...

This unit was purchased as a gift for a family member. This blue-ray disk player was selected because of the excellant results that I had with an identical unit. The process for connecting the unit was easy and accessing an on-line movie download worked smoothly the first time. The quality of the color and sharpness of the picture on a HD television is excellant.

So far I have had this blu-ray player for two months and had watched 11 blu-ray discs and 75 DVDs. It does a great job playing blu-ray discs (none of the long delays loading enhanced menus I read about for some other blu-ray players), plays BD-Live content just fine, even when using internal memory (some blu-ray players require a memory stick or thumb drive before they do BD-Live; you can use either internal memory or a thumb drive on this player). For most standard DVDs recorded in letterbox, this rescales on the HDMI port to fill my HD TV screen automatically. (I haven't tried any other outputs from the LG BD390.)
I have a Netflix account and tried a movie, and it streams a movie from Netflix just fine, my test showing it and the Roku HD Digital Video Player box (formerly called Roku Netflix Box) producing identical results for the few streams I have tried.
Overall, I am quite pleased with this box.
My setup is the LG BD390 hooked up via HDMI cable to my Samsung 46" LCD TV (120hz). The times I tested the BD390's Internet connection (Netflix streaming, YouTube, BD-Live, software update), it was connected to my router via an Ethernet cable.
Now the down sides:
- The remote has to be pointed directly at the LG BD390; my other remotes are more forgiving, allowing me to be up to 45 degrees off, so I had to adapt to that.
- When playing a blu-ray disc, if one powers off and comes back later, the disc wants to start at the beginning. Fortunately, if one had jotted down the time into the feature, it is rather easy to navigate back to the same spot. Contrast that to a DVD, which will automatically start playing from where it was when it was powered off.
- YouTube videos are a mixed bag; some are positively ugly (and some are ugly on the PC screen when expanded to fill the monitor). Also, a change at the YouTube end no longer brings up one's favorites on the LG BD390, but the search interface is tolerable if one remembers the title.
- An occasional older DVD recorded in letterbox won't automatically rescale to make maximum use of screen real estate. I think that is an issue with the encoding on the disc, not a player problem.
For my uses, I consider these issues minor.
Overall, I am quite pleased with the LG BD390--it does quite well what I had purchased it to do: to watch blu-ray discs and DVDs I rent from Netflix on my 46" LCD TV,and I consider it well worth the money I paid for it.
What's great about it: So far, everything.
What's not so great: nothing major (see below)

Had to pay $35 to have it looked at since labor warranty is only 3 months. Service department called to inform me that repair would cost $150 in labor. They told me that I don't even want to know what the parts cost, like it was a good thing that the parts were still covered for 1 year. They recommended that I buy a service contract if I choose to buy another unit.
I have purchased THOUSANDS of dollars worth of LG equipment for my clients over the last 3 years, including over $17000 for 1 job alone, but that ends today. I will never recommend any products from LG to my customers from this moment forward, nor will I buy any. I read the reviews here and must concur with the service reported by those who had trouble with this unit. Think before you buy. Sony offers a 1 year warranty on parts & labor on their BDP units.
What's great about it: Nice case, decent home page.
What's not so great: Quit playing Blu ray discs after only 6 months. No eject button on front... how stupid!
