What's great about it: Easy setup, great price, vivid clean picture, many varied device connection options.
"This is a great product. I saw the reviews about lip sync, but no issues with the TV we purchased. Video and Audio are great! This ties into our existing home theater setup very nicely."

LG 47" LCD FLAT PANEL, BEST FOR YOUR BUCK
02/06/2010
By SAL66

What's great about it: you name it, it is great, PICTURE,COLOR, SOUND, EVERYTHING
What's not so great: NOTHING SO FAR
"My Wife and I spent months on the web looking for the best TV for us, we almost settled on a Toshiba, but after going to the BestBuy store and seeing the TV'sside by side, but could not see the Toshiba itself do to it not being turnd on, and asking a lot of questions to the sale person, we decided on this 47" LG. Am I happy we did, it is a fantastic TV. those who complain about sound, trumotion, backlight, color, picture and everything you can think of, most likely didnot adjust anything on the TV. I went through all the motions and adjusted everything on the TV like the demo showed and what a great TV this LG really is. I would recommend this TV to anyone who is looking for a great TV."

Great Purchase!

What's great about it: Easy to set up, packed well, well worth the sale price, nice small frame, sharp
What's not so great: Slight motion problem sometimes, sound could be a little better.
"We bought this to replace a Sanyo LCD. The Sanyo from Walmart did not last very long. We had the Sanyo for only about three years. We did like our Sanyo untill the screen started to have black streaks appear across it rapidly. We bought the LG due to the salespersons advice and we got the extra warranty just in case. So far it is a huge improvement over the Sanyo in Picture and Sound. We will see about the life of it in time. You seem to get a lot more from LG besides the 47 inch at a lower price than you do from Sony's 46 inch. Bottom line, we are pleased with the purchase and the three years of no interest made Best Buy our choice hands down."

What a Picture
02/04/2010
By whoslappedjon

What's great about it: Picture is so good I thought I was the camera man.
What's not so great: Not much, if anything to complain about I would say the remote is uncomfortably long.
"I started searching for a LCD TV around Christmas time saving my pennies along the way. I am a salesmens worst nightmare an "informed shopper" I do a lot of research before I buy anything. So after a month in a half of reading and watching reviews. I chose this LG over the 46in Samsung who I have been a fan of forever. The only difference between the two is 10,000 in contrast ratio and this LG is about $100 Less. I am also a little crazy, I prefer using like company products and was looking for a matching blue ray player. After reading many many reviews about the problems with Samsung blue ray locking issues once connected to a Samsung TV. I had to go LG. I have had it for a short time but I am really happy with. The picture looks amazing, at sometimes I feel its too amazing. I almost feel like the camera man. The picture calibrator is super easy to use and makes the picture looks even better for your viewing area. As for sound I run into a Audio Video Receiver so I have not had any of the voice sync problem, and hope the don't show their head. Get this TV Just my thoughts,"

Great TV

What's great about it: Price/Clarity
What's not so great: The fact that it wasn't free
"I purchased this TV about 4 weeks ago (which came free with an LG Blu Ray Player) and it has performed flawlessly. The clarity on it is unreal. When we first started watching standard TV we were amazed at how awesome it looked. It almost felt like things were too real and moving too quickly. If you are looking for an outstanding tv look no further."

What's great about it: Picture awesome
What's not so great: Trumotion hurts my eyeballs
"Trumotion definatly makes picture look better. The problem is that it looks unrealistic sometimes. Not to mention it hurts my eyeballs and gives me a headache. Might be just me, doesn't effect my girlfriend. So I turned it off and not using it. Otherwise It's awesome."

Great TV
01/30/2010
By Scotchbrite

|
What's great about it: No issues with glare from external light, good picture
What's not so great: Can't think of one, but this is my first HDTV
"I should start by mentioning this is my first flat panel TV. I love watching TV shows and movies on this TV compared to the 32" CRT TV I had before. The thing that suprised me the most is the lack of glare on the screen from windows and lamps. I hated that with our old TV, but it's not an issue with this one.
One word of experience for those like me switching from old equipment. I'm still using my old Sony component stereo, 15yrs and still sounds great. The only audio output on this TV is digitial. In order to connect it to the "legacy" home theatre receiver is to get a converter. Giffin is the only one I found and you need to use the more expensive converter that does the 5.1 dolby if you want to enjoy the same sound quality that is broadcast by most HD channels. The other option is to input all of your individual components into the stereo. I thought it was easier to input all of the audio to the TV and then have just one source into the stereo."

Great Televiions from LG!

What's great about it: Fine tuning the picture is easy, the picture looks great with Blu-Ray, 120hz means smooth sports
What's not so great: Not much, maybe the sound could be a little better but I dont think people expect big sound from a LCD tv any more
"I purchased this television as a replacement for an few year old 32in Poloroid. I wanted a full 1080p television to enjoy blu-ray movies on and after doing some research on features and price points I decided on this LG.
After the shock of the size difference between the 32 and 47 inch screens I settled in and watched Swordfish on blu-ray. Let me tell you I was sold from the opening scene. The picture just looked amazing!
The television does well with standard definition and Time Warner HD channels. I would tell anyone that this is a great tv."

What's great about it: Best monitor I have ever owned
What's not so great: only VGA connection (no DVI)
"For those of you who are looking for more screen real estate for your PC, this TV (monitor) rocks! It runs at 1920 / 1080 flawlessly. No hiccups, no issues whatsoever. Add another dimension to your PC - buy a TV for your monitor; can't beat the price either."

Get a Samsung

What's great about it: Everything is fine... when it works
What's not so great: Picture went black 10 minutes after plugged it in.
"I bought this tv since it was on sale for 999.99. Plugged it in and watched tv for 10 minutes and it went black but still has sound. Called the tech support and she took me through several steps and it still didnt work. So she offered a repair technician to come but I decided to just take back and get a Samsung. Maybe it was just a lemon but I won't trust LG ever again."

By StLouieJ

What's great about it: value, set up, picture, sound
What's not so great: nothing yet
"I have been researching TVs for the past few months. I first decided on the Toshiba Regza 46xv645u...but there was a problem with the speakers, so I returned the Toshiba and purchased this LG. So far, I'm very pleased with my decision. I was aware of the lip sync problem that has been discussed in previous posts, but glad to say that is not an issue at all. The stand swivels which is a nice added feature. The TruMotion feature was a little weird at first, but does help blurring. Overall, a great TV."

What's great about it: Picture is awesome, easy to set up and excellent price
What's not so great: Nothing that I have found
"This was a great purchase. I went between LCD and Plasma before finally deciding on the LG LCD. I went with this purchase because of the quality of other LG products I have used. I also wanted the home theatre and tv to be the same brand. I could not be happier w/the product. I did wait a while before making my purchase because over the holidays I had seen the price fluctuating a lot and I ended up getting them to match the lowest price I have ever seen this tv from another Sunday ad. I could not be happier w/the tv. I would def recommend it. I have heard a lot about audio lag, but I have not experienced this problem so far."

Love this TV so far!!

What's great about it: Picture Quality
What's not so great: Lip Sync
"Got this TV delivered recently so they would take my Sony Rear Projection LCD which ended up being a horrible TV due to the Optical Block issues.
I had a lip sync issue but was able to correct it by entering into the special menu on my Verizon FIOS cable box and change the HDMI setting from "Auto" to one of the other settings, I think it was L-PRG or something like that.
I just love LG TVs. You can't beat the picture quality and the price."

What's great about it: Beautiful picture, software features, Simplink, price
What's not so great: Nothing to date
"I purchased this LCD while on sale to replace a 50" circa-1998 rear-projection. I had a size I was limited to and this fit for what I needed. I had researched LCDs for a few weeks before purchasing. I must say that I am extremely satisfied with this LG.
The picture is crisp and the amount of settings and features are great. It is an attractive looking TV. I have a very sunny location so anything with too glossy of a screen was out. So far, this is great in everything from sun (well, as good as you will get with any reflective item) to darkness. This LCD had a build date of November 2009, so there were no lip-sync issues (earlier reviewers had issues with the lip-sync - I assume the firmware was fixed a while back).
The Simplink makes connecting with and using the LG blu-ray player simple. There was only one other LG LCD in the house before this purchase and now we have 4. So far, so good. No complaints on any of them, especially not this one."
