What's great about it: I like you can check for resturaunts around where you are, Love the simplicity of it.
What's not so great: Nothing so far
"I have purchased the Garmin for my Husband for Christmas, He has wanted one ever since they have came out. I and My husband do a lot of traveling so i thought this would come in handy for us. He has enjoyed since then and has helped us in our travels during christmas and i know will help in future travels."

What's great about it: features and price, car charger included

"This unit is billed as a mid-range GPS based on price, but when you compare features it is similar and in some cases exceeds the features of high-end models. The Garmin Nuvi 255W has voice capability but cannot be commanded with voice. It has a huge number of POI (Points of Interest) built in and you can add up to 1000 additional ones. You can also set proximity alerts when you are approaching a POI. You also have speed limits and the current speed indicators on the screen.The 255W also has an emergency button on the menu, which receives your exact coordinates (latitude and longitude), displays the nearest address and intersection, and feeds you with the nearest police station, hospital and gas stations. This is a very handy feature if you get lost. The Nuvi 255W also has the ability to view JPEG files. This comes very handy together with Google’s Panoramio if you plan your trip ahead of time. You can set your GPS unit to navigate you to the points where the photos are taken. You can even send addresses to the unit from Google Maps or Mapquest. In addition, there is an optional MSN Direct Connect to feed you the web favorites, local events and news headlines. As is the standard with all GPS units, the Garmin Nuvi 255W has an auto re-route function (recalculate the route to your destination if you happen to go off calculated route), route avoidance (such as highways and tolls), choice of route (fastest, shortest, eco, etc.) and the ability to receive traffic alerts. However if you have more than one waypoint on the way, it does not show the most direct route. Considering the cost of the unit and the cost of a lifetime membership to MSN Direct, the Garmin Nuvi 255W offers an excellent price to performance value. Fort this reason I would say it is a superior purchase."

What's great about it: great product and easy to use when driving.
"This is my second Garman GPS. I bought the second one for my second car because of my satisfaction with the first. It;s a great product and easy to use.
Every one who drives in areas they are not familiar with should have one. It can save you time and money. I have two other brands of GPS products and Garman is the easiest to use."

What's not so great: optional non-directional programs are not as easy to use
"I had a Magellan and after two years the update for new maps would have cost more than a new GPS so I bought a Garmin because you can get lifetime updates for a reasonable cost and it was rated better than the Magellan.
I am very pleased. It was ready out of the box easy and accurate. It even came with a free online map update to get the latest maps.What a great value!"

"I love Garmin GPS products. This my 3rd unit. I use them in all my vehicles. Auto rerouting is pretty quick, if you make a wrong turn don't worry about it, it will tell you where to go. This unit is great for rural driving. I drive average of 200 miles a day for work. This unit is replacing a unit from 2005 that has been in continuous use every day since buying it in 2005. It finally died and stopped linking to satelites. Had a competitor competitor that was junk. Will only buy Garmin for GPS."

What's great about it: Announces turns timely, clear, large display, crisp night display
What's not so great: Found a few roads open for over a year not yet programmed into unit
"This unit does a great job. I use it in my tractor trailer and it takes a lot of the pressure off. It announces the streets clearly and in plenty of time. The display is clear and bright and changes over to a night display automatically. As I said I did find some areas where the roads weren't programmed in yet. Overall, it's a great return for your dollar."
