TomTom has made no attempt to correct known issues with this device . They instead try to place blame on the consumer, waist your time trying to fix a known defect then make you pay to ship it to them for repairs. I looked it up the net and the very same issues I have had are common. Customer support wastes your time. Save your self the headache buy from a different manufacture..

What's not so great: Poor Product, Know issues not resolved!

hi .This unit is worth buying just for the IQ routes! The most important feature of any GPS is its competence in routing. I have owned several brands of GPS, including Garmin and Mio. This one has the best routing yet! It always seems to choose a route that a local driver would choose. Some local drivers could even learn some better routes with this thing.
The text to speech voice works well. Like other TomToms, it is very easy to customize in terms of the information you wish to display on the screen.
The screen could be brighter. The windshield mount does not hold as securely as one would wish. I use an Arkon vent mount.
What's great about it: easy
What's not so great: screen

Purchased at Best Buy on 1 June - returned it on 3 june- worked great out of the box for the trip home. Conned=cted to TomTOM Home for updates and it downloaded updates and then started downloading the free map update. Took extremely long time using DSL. Failed during installation and it lost all maps. Found other reviews on the internet that described the same problem. Was unable to get it to reload maps after it failed.
