My story is simple – These headphones sounded great until they broke. This was the first Sennheiser product I’ve ever owned, and I’ve only heard good things about both the audio quality and build quality from the company. The strange thing is that before I wrote this review I read the other eleven ones already listed, and it turns out that the reviewer “xenith” had his break in exactly the same spot as mine!!! They broke right where the gold-plated plug begins to get wrapped in plastic/rubber. Mine broke after about 2 months of VERY delicate and infrequent use. “xenith” had their pair break after 2 weeks, so this definitely seems to be an issue with build quality and not user misuse. It’s a shame, I really liked them, but now will be returning.

What's great about it: Everything
What's not so great: Nothing
Loved the first pair i bought before this current design i think i used them for 3 years till the cord started shorting out. I bought my current pair and when BBY had them on sale i bought another pair to have as spares. They have great response and i would say they are as good or better than the Beats earbuds.
These are awesome for using on a plane because the are very effective at blocking out noise (though not as effective as active Noise Cancellation Cans'). I would recommend these to anyone that wants a great pair of earbuds and doesn't mind paying a few extra bucks. they are well worth the value.

What's great about it: The sound quality is better than I expected for the price.
What's not so great: Honestly, I can't really find a downside to these phones.
I honestly don't understand all the negativity for these in-ear headphones at all (on this site). There are some rules when buying audio products, and most notable of all, you get what you pay for. True, there are some brands out there that are extremely overpriced (BOSE for example), but this really is true for the most part.
That being said, I've already got a good pair of cans for my home theater, but this time I wanted something that was going to do well enough for my listening purposes at work (in a cubicle). I wanted good sound with decent bass (but not too much bass) in the $50-$60 range. Am I getting the best sonic experience for this price range? Of course not... but for a secondary set of 'phones for work, I wanted to find the best in its class. Spending $200 simply wasn't an option.
The Sennheisers deliver, and I couldn't be happier. They're comfortable, the sound is superb and much better than I would have credited buds in this price range to have, and their build is durable enough for my inactive usage (again, at work in a cubicle). The fact they come in a leather pouch case is great, as I can just toss them into my backpack on a daily basis when I'm done and not have to worry about the cords catching on something and pulling out of the buds. Great value for the money. Complainers need to remember one thing - You get what you pay for.

What's great about it: Bass, overall sound quality, comfort
What's not so great: Thin cord
These are some of the best in-ear headphones you'll find for the money. They fit nicely in the ear and are very comfortable. They block out sounds very well and are basically ear plugs with speakers in them. I use them for playing sports and they do the job well. The only thing I don't like about them is that the cords are a little to thin. My first pair got cut nearly in half and I didn't even notice when it happened.

This was my first upgrade from the standard Apple earbuds. You will definitely hear things you haven't heard before! I got them on sale for $50 and picked them up in-store. I was thinking about buying them on Amazon or another cheaper store, but as I researched these, I found that the cx300's are a highly counterfeited item, so if you're getting them for $25, they're probably fake. I wanted to make sure I was getting genuine ones, so I bought from an authorized dealer. These earbuds have very good bass, which was one of the main things I was looking for, but there are also good mids and highs too(I have the equalizer set to bass booster, since I really like strong bass). They are very comfortable and I didn't have any problem fitting them in my ears. The cord does act like a stethoscope when it rubs against something, but I'm not usually moving when I use them, so it's not really a problem for me. They have very good sound isolation and I here nothing with music playing, not even yelling or noise while riding in the car. Overall, these are good quality earbuds, a little more expensive then some, but it was worth it to me.

What's great about it: quality, size, price (on sale)
What's not so great: weird wiring system, large plug
I am a firm believer that, except for the cheapies, earbud style headphones all sound pretty much the same. well, that is incorrect apparently.
i usually get the cheaper (not <$20) ones. I've been very happy with a set of Sony buds I picked up for $30. The sound is ok, but the comfort is excellent. No more sore ear after 30 min of listening like the stiff buds.
I picked these up on sale and put them on in the store before leaving. I mostly got them because I left mine at home, but had the Sansa and needed some music for the commute. As soon as I turned the player on, I couldn't hear anything around me. People talking, music, etc, nothing was getting to my ear drums except beautiful music selected by yours truly.
The one complaint I have RIGHT AWAY is the size of the plug. D*mn it's big. I'm sure it's because thats the first part of the bud to go, but d*mn it's huge. Also, not too thrilled about the shorter wire on the left side, but I guess I'll get used to it. Hopefully I wont snag it on my handlebars like I did the others.
I'm really liking them so far. Time will tell, cause with most new things, you like them at first but then....
They did come with a case, but I haven't even taken it out of the packaging, still in my bag.
I also added a link to the other ones I usually get because of the comfort and price and my Sansa. This time I wanted to try something new.

What's great about it: Great Sound, Fit Well
What's not so great: Poor Build Quality, Expensive
I'm a big Sennheiser fan and I love these headphones. They fit in the ears very well and never fall out, even while running and lifting. The sound quality is excellent. Price is a little steep, but I'm hoping they last a while.
The only problem is that the input at the end of the headphones came out of the rubber sleeve that held it in place/protected the interior wires from being exposed. This happened within the first 2 weeks of use. This makes taking the headphones out of my iPod very difficult as I have to be very careful as to not damage the wires.

What's great about it: return policy
What's not so great: quality for the price
I had a pair of Sony MDR-EX90s for the longest time and lost them. Womp wah.
So I went to Best Buy to make a "distressed purchase" of new headphones, laying out $60 for the Sennheiser CX 300-II pair, and I was NOT happy with the fit (one hear bud was larger than the other for the largest pair) and the sound quality (a little tinny).
So I spent more time to look for something similar to my beloved MDR-EX90s and came across the Sony MDR-EX300s. WOW. I paid 25% less for them than for the Sennheiser CX 300-II pair and they sound like an IMPROVEMENT over the Sony MDR-EX90 as well! I've never made a better purchase decision.
Thank goodness for the Best Buy return policy, because the Sennheisers will be going back.

so far im in love with these headphones. i had perfect customer service from the mission valley location on selecting earbuds. i came in with no budget in mind, and they pointed me to these headphones even though i was originally looking at bose. i have never heard of this brand but im happy. i also got to test drive them before i left just in case i was unhappy.

What's great about it: Very Comfortable, Good Bass, Clear mids
What's not so great: Cord noise
The best headphones within $60. Very clean sound with noticalbe differnce with highs mids and lows. One con i will say to the head phones if you have the bass up it does take away from the high tones, but the best bass as far as the sony and the skull candy headphones go. These are no high end Shure or Sennheisers. I would well recommend these over the bose earbud.

What's great about it: Decent sound with great detail to highs & mids.
What's not so great: Ear gels don't fit all that good, uneven cord length. needs more bass to counter balance the midrange.
I've read many good reviews for these Sennheiser CX 300 headphones, so I felt it was time for me to hear them for myself. Right away you can notice how detailed the highs & mids are. Bass is alright. If you enjoy music where vocals & highs are important, Sennheiser might be one of the best in that category. Also with that being said, it might not be for everybody. Vocal detail is very impressive & the highs are bright. Music has a transparent & hollow sound, almost un-natural because everything is sounding too clear. The bass is not too boomy or tight. It's a very clean sounding bass because Sennheiser focused more on the vocal clarity with these headphones & that lessens bass impact. During bass heavy tracks at higher volumes, these headphones cry uncle! That's pretty sad if you ask me?!? The ear gels don't fit all that good; the small ones are too small for my ears & the medium are a tad bit too big. Sennheiser is the 1st brand I've ever had this problem with. If I'm standing still they stay in my ears fine, but if I go running they fall out easily. I also dislike the un-even cord length. In the price range, the sound from this Sennheiser CX 300 is forgettable compared to the Altec Lansing BackBeat 206's. With all that being said, these are the type of headphones I'd take along during less important activities. So if they get bumped, scratched, or even jacked.. I wouldn't care less because there rather forgettable. If Sennheiser is what you want, you're better off buying the CX 400 headphones. They have better bass response, with similar highs & mids of the CX 300's. Even with that, the CX 300 & CX 400 are no match for the Altec Lansing BackBeat 206 headphones. Plus Altec Lansing has a better model in the BackBeat 326's which currently is top dog in sound compared to headphones in the $99-$199 price range. Save your money and buy Altec Lansing or V-moda headphones, Sennheiser could've done a lot better with the CX 300 model.
