What's great about it: Sound quality, noise isolation What's not so great: The fit
"Excellent sound quality. Tremendous clarity and detail. I'm hearing things in my music that I never knew existed with any other pair of headphones I've ever owned. Of course, I've never had a pair this nice, but still. Also very comfortable. My only gripe is that the earbuds themselves don't always stay in my ears easily. Maybe I need to experiment with the different sizes of ear tips. But hey, don't let that one small complaint stop you from buying these amazing headphones! $80 well spent."

What's great about it: Excellent sound quality, comfortable, and great value. What's not so great: Cord is slightly too thin.
"Having used Shure, Bose, and Phillips, these ear-buds are hands down the best value and best sound quality I have yet to find. At 20hz to 20khz, these ear-buds provide excellent mid, high, and bass sound production. Acoustic songs emphasize the vocal characteristics, and techno/dance songs demonstrate solid bass performance. Overall, these ear-buds are a great value for excellent sound quality comparable to any of the other big name headphone makers."

What's great about it: Sound quality is equal to some costing 2x as much....I know, I tried them and returned What's not so great: nothing yet
"These are some awesome headphones, and for the price, man I feel like one of the other reviewers here and may buy a pair to bury in my drawer. I too auditioned the Shure SE115..a little to much bass for me. I tried the Monster Turbines and those are heavy, do not fit my ear and are very bass heavy. These BackBeat Pros are very nicely balanced and sound crisp. I also noticed on my box Ultimate Ears...they do look a little like the Superfi 4's, which arent too bad sounding either (cousin has them), but these cheaper and sound just as good."

What's great about it: The fit is as good or better than the Shures What's not so great: Cord too long
"I'm wicked picky about in-ear headphone fit as I work in a very noisy place and work out at a gym that plays ldiotic music. These have a fantastic sound while sealing out all of the annoying noise around me. Light, too....they don't fall out if you have them in right. There's a choice of 4 different size earbuds that should fit anyone. I also like the fact that they have a 90 degree plug and a 2 year warranty. My all time favorite for years were the entry level Shures, but I think I have a new fav. We'll see how they stand up..."

What's great about it: Awesome sound quality, don't fall out while running. What's not so great: Haven't noticed anything yet.
"Upgraded to these Altec headphones after the left wire frayed and gave out on my Skullcandy pair. I couldn't be happier! The sound quality is absolutely fantastic in my opinion. Plus, you can really pump up the volume on them and maintain that quality. Beyond that, they fit snugly and comfortably in the ear, don't fall out when I run in them, and look great. I don't think you can go wrong with these."

What's great about it: they remind me of studio monitors What's not so great: t
"I bought these at bestbuy about two weeks now and they are the first pair of headphones that did not sound like there was a drop in mid range it did not sound to me like it was emphasizeing anything they sound flat and harsh like studio monitors and i like that, i am considering buying a few more, i have bought alot of headphones some too bright some too boomy these sound like the last three letters in their name pro, thats just how i feel i bought quite a few headphones, what i've come to realize they are all designed to be of some character i definately love these though, some people are looking for some sweet sound of some kind if thats for an ipod go a head but to do other stuff like music you dont need all the glitter."

Greatly disappointed!05/25/2009
By Stanmanfrom Cerritos, CA
What's great about it: The soft-sided case. What's not so great: The sound is nowhere close to the BackBeat 206 or 326 models. Detail is very poor.
"This might be one of the worst purchases I made in headphones since the Shure SE110 headphones I bought several years ago. I was totally blown away with the Altec Lansing BackBeat 326 headphones & very pleased with the 206 model. When it comes to great sounding headphones its very addicting because it'll make you want to hear something even better later on. Altec Lansing made such a great product in the BackBeat 326 model and its very surprising these BackBeat Pro (606) model sound far worse than the 206 model. The bass is good but not clean, it's a bit muddy. The most shocking thing about these headphones is the detail. The highs are poor & the mids are under powered, it's just really sad. They changed the cord from cloth to clear plastic like the V-moda vibe headphones, which I thought was pointless. There was nothing good I found in these headphones except for the nice soft case. In my past reviews I wrote the Sennheiser CX300 headphones were a forgettable set of headphones. Well these BackBeat Pro headphones are even worse! Save yourself the time & buy the BackBeat 206 or 325 models. Altec Lansing skimped on quality with this model."

What's great about it: Sound Quality and Comfortable fit What's not so great: NA
"I returned the cumbersome Shure SE 115 headphones and picked up these Altec's yesterday and couldn't be happier! I was a little concerned that after hearing how great the Shure model sounded that anything else would pale in comparison... luckily, that is not the case with these guys! The sound is incredible and you don't have to deal with the bulky extension cable like with the Shure design and the ear buds don't pop off easily, which is a common complaint with the Bose. For this price range, the Altec's cannot be beat!!!"
