Worked great out of the box. Clearly labeled hook-ups for components. Easy/intuitive programing features. Packaging was quite large, don't try picking this up with a car.

What's great about it: Very easy to set up
What's not so great: Once turning on the tv, I must wait several minutes for the remote to function: volume adjustment, switch channel, etc.
I've had this TVnow for three weeks. So far I have no major complaints. The picture is crystal clear and beautiful. From having read the many reviews, I expected the sound not to be perfect, as this appears to be the one issue so many people needed adjustment with. So far that has not been a problem for me. However. I plan to add a sound system and at least a one more component. We'll see how that goes.

What's not so great: I have to dust everyday to keep it looking as great as when i bought it
I had a plasma before and wow what a difference great color great looks sleak and clean we love this tv easy set up basic just plug and go easy ports to hook the wii up when we play located on the side of tv great all around

What's great about it: love the picture, it's like your there while filming
What's not so great: the sound , for this kind of money should have been a whole lot better
The price was right, the picture awesome, but the sound quality stinks. Overall a good buy, great since I have a separate surround sound system.

What's great about it: The way it looks in living room and the performance. Also, got it for a good affordable price than the other name brands
What's not so great: nothing so far. Everything is working great.
The LG 55" TV is great. Is giving me a movie theater experience in my own home at a reasonable price. It is beautifully styled and it looks great in my living room. I will never regret buying this product and with 4 HDMI inputs it is very versatile.

What's great about it: Easy to set up. TV is VERY sleek and nice looking! Crystal clear picture!
What's not so great: The sound! I'll definately be buying an hd surround sound soon! Sound is par at best for such a nice tv!
After shopping around and weighing our options we bought the LG 55" 120hz tv. This was to replace our current 48" 720p hd tv. Never have I had a tv that's picture came close to looking this good! We bought this right before the super bowl and watched it on our HD receiver with hdmi cables going to our new tv and it looked amazing! Very happy with the tv and I believe it was a good buy ($1500) for such a big LG LCD TV. My ONLY gripe, along with everyone else, is the sound! How could LG make such a nice, new, cutting edge tv with such bad sound? The tv has almost zero bass at all, even turned up in the settings. Also seems like the sound is projected behind the tv instead of in front giving it a very mono sound. Nothing a surround sound cant fix, but it shouldn't have to! Its hard to tell how good the sound is/isn't in the store but if you don't plan on buying a surround sound like me then you might want to consider buying a tv with better built in sound. Don't get me wrong I love my tv but for $1600 I expected better sound than my 7year old tv.

What's great about it: Picture is amazing, great price

Me and my wife have been using a 37 inch westinghouse for almost 2 years and finally decided to upgrade. So we bought this unit paired with the Panasonic 7.1 Blu-Ray player/speaker package. It's AMAZING! Watching movies on HD on it with the Tru-motion is weird getting used to but now I hate watching TV's without it! Also a blast to have HD cables on my x-box and play my 360 in HD. Definently a must buy, even if it was the original price!!! Oh, we also hung it on the wall and we recommend getting the higher end wall mount because this TV is a bit heavy, but well worth the price of the mount!

i had a HP plasma 42 " for 2 years , then i decided to upgrade to a better quality picture and bigger screen without spend a lot of money on it. in my opinion the LCD tvs are much better picture quality than PLASMA tvs. this TV has a better picture quality i ever seen , and when i bought that i checked so many other diferent tvs always comparing between price and features ... i decided for that 55" LG tv . i satisfied with but i did a small mistake . i have a SONY BRAVIA home theater at my living room ; that i bought 2 years ago. that home theater works on my LG tv but just for watch movies on that , not for watch my regular tv , or video games . when i watch regular tv or playing my Playstation 3 the sound comes just from tv speakers because that tv doesn't have a audio out input , that just have digital optical input( and my home theater doesn't have digital optical input ) . i really can't understand that because 99 % of tvs has audio out inputs and that tv doesn't .Now i have to buy another home theater for my tv , because i love the sound quality , and i like to hear it loud !

Sometimes I think that people might get one bad out of a batch, that can happen to anthing.I have not had any problems with my LG at all. The picture is great and the sound is better than most flat screens.I have purchased two 37 inch for family and they are still going strong.LG puts out a pretty good TV.I got my 55 inch at bestbuy(complete)for 1100.00.Very easy to set up.I Love it on my bedroom wall.Sony and Samsung does put out a very good TV but please do not sleep on LG because they are running neck to neck with them.

My wife and i been wanting a bigger tv for a while now. Looked around for almost a year. We wanted a lcd this time and a much bigger one than our plasma 42 in. So we found this one on sale. Reviews were solid ect.... THe picture is out of this world and thats what we wanted. At first it was weird, getting use to the motion blur. Note: only reason i gave the sound a 3 is that i use a receiver. I'm sure the sound is fine but come on how good are they really in any flat tv. Surround sound is the only way to go. "i could go on but i want to get to the point"
Heres the BUT, I'm a graphics designer and i pay really really close attention to detail. At first i didn't notice anything but now i do. Im seeing a blur effect almost like seeing a slow bullet scene from the matrix. It's happening when people are walking or running from left or right of the TV. On there backs is where you would see this. Cant see it when they are walking/running tourge you. Basically a profile angle. Im seeing this all the time now. My wife had no idea until i pointed it out, but she saids, can only see it sometimes as i see it all the time. Anyone else out there is experiencing this problem? If it wasn't for this blur affect im seeing i would of given it all 5's. Might be a defect in my unit.

I purchased this as an upgrade for another TV that died. The first one was defective out of the box. After a couple of trips to BB. I had the TV set up. The picture is great. It looks like you can reach out and touch some one.
The only issue was the sound was out of snych with the lip movement. I read a fix from another review and solve the problem.

What's not so great: Haven't found a thing so far.
Very happy with this television. Fits beautifully into our entertainment center, no glare. Used to surround sound and haven't hooked it up yet, which is the only issue with the sound quality. Supposed to be able to control increased volume on commercials, but haven't figured that one out yet. Picture is amazing, clear, and sports action...WOW! It just seems to "pop"! We looked at a lot of televisions, this one is a great deal!

What's great about it: Good Price, picure so good it's scary.
What's not so great: Stand included with tv seems flimsy. We'll be wall mounting.
We bought this tv for the price and the size, but when we got it home we were really impressed by the picture quality. We are replacing a 51" Sony rear-projection tv and the difference is unreal. Our only complaint is that the stand included seems a little flimsy for such a large tv. Wall mounting is highly recomended.

Buy this tv before it's too late. We picked it up last night and it's superb. I play Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Wii and all look amazing on this set. The menus are easy to follow and the Intelligent Sensor is a cool feature. We are very happy with LG's family of products.

I am no tech guru or anything, so I did a ton of research before I bought a TV.
I went WITHOUT a TV for over 2 weeks just trying to make the right decision.
I finally went with this 55" LG model and it is OK....not great...
The sound seems a bit off like it is coming from behind the TV or something, and it is a little blurry with motion.
Have just used it for cartoons so far, so perhaps this will subside for sports and regular TV.
I saw many other TV's in stores that were better than this, but for the price I guess it is OK.

Honestly, for the price this TV is excellent. It deserves a 5 out of 5 on everything for its price range (if you catch it on sale). I was able to get this TV for $1200 so I am really happy with it for the price. I love the trumotion feature, even though some think it makes the picture look phony. The only drawback is the sound. The speakers aren't THAT good. They aren't horrible either, but compared to my Panasonic plasma, they aren't that great. This still doesn't take away from the TV because it will be primarily used for home theater and I will be adding a full surround sound system to it, so I don't feel like I was shorted at all.
I would recommend this to a friend!
