What's great about it: Very solid router that measurably increases the performance of a home network
What's not so great: 5GHz band sounds great in the description but really is not necessary
This is a great router. As with all Netgear products it is incredibly easy to set up. I had it up and running within 15 minutes. I really liked the idea of the 2.4GHz and 5GHz channels running at the same time to increase the overall wireless transfer speeds. I have a wireless G Mac and looked around for usb adapters that could give me that dual-band functionality. It turns out that they can connect on one band at a time. Netgear sells a usb adapter that can run on both bands simultaneously but it is only for PC's. Just keep this in mind if you are trying to upgrade an older Mac. Otherwise the speeds are impressive. As part of purchasing the router I upgraded my home network to gigabit and it is an amazing speed increase. I have an NAS so the upgrade was necessary in order to achieve the maximum file transfer speeds.
Overall you can't go wrong with this router. Just consider purchasing a less expensive Netgear wireless N router that doesn't have the 5GHz band because you will probably find that you do not need it.

What's great about it: Easy to set up

This is my second 3700 router. My first was a v2 and it still works great. I gave my other one away and replaced it with this one which is different in that it has a faster CPU, more RAM and updated radio chip. A review I read on another website comparing this (v4) with a v2 stated it was faster and used less power than the previous model. That's all I needed to know. It's been problem free since I set it up.

What's not so great: Having a hard time figuring out how to change name and password.
It's easy to set up, it's compact and looks nice on the shelf. It either lays down or stands on its side, I like it on its side. I would just like to change the name and password, but can't figure it out. Oh yes, the Internet access is quick.

What's not so great: Haven't found anything wrong with it yet
Plug in turn on, use-nothing could be easier. It worked the first time and have not had to do anything to it. Just follow the instructions which are soooo easy

This wireless router seems to work fine with my laptop but is spotty with my girlfriends computer.

What's great about it: Fairly easy set up, haven't had to reset it yet
What's not so great: kind of tall
It has worked well for my small apartment. The internet has been reliable. It took a while to get used to all the lights on it that are on all the time, but overall I am happy with it.

What's great about it: Easy set up, easily identify by lights speed of wired connections & wireless connections working
What's not so great: haven't found anything so far
I like this router because it is very easy to identify that everything is working fine. It has lights to indicate that the power is on, internet is connected, connections secure, wireless 2.4 Ghz & 5 Ghz connections are actively working, and different color lights indicating the speed of wired connections. The set up was easy. I got this as a replacement to a Linksys router which stopped working before a year was up and had no indicator lights that anything was working or not working, which made it difficult to figure out where the various problems were before it stopped working.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This router is even easier to setup than an earlier version from Netgear. The instruction sheet was concise and easy to understand. It took less than ten minutes to get up and running.

What's great about it: Functionality, speed, capability, looks
What's not so great: Price is a bit of a stretch
I bought this to replace my WNDR3700 v1. I've been a fan of the wndr series for a while, this version works well in my house which is about 1500 sq ft. The wireless speeds are good and the gigabit Ethernet ports make for a nice wired home network. I found it odd that the LEDs don't blink during activity.

What's great about it: Worked without NAT issues for the Xbox straight out of the box. Setup was easy with only some knowledge of wireless.
What's not so great: A sizable piece of hardware. Wish I could more easily read the meaning of display lights.
Set up was quickly done and default settings were paired flawlessly for use with Xbox. Management of system is easy with smart phone app. On/off switches for power and for wi-fi are nice to have. Cannot speak to attachment of hard drive. Range seems fifteen feet further than previous technology going through brick and mortar. Main user interface software clear and easy to understand with some wireless tech knowledge.
