What's great about it: It has every feature that I wanted and more. It was easy to set up, and the price of the Refurbished model was great.
What's not so great: You have to download the manual -- the instructions with the unit leave too many questions.
"Because of Garmin's great reputation, I did not consider any other make, and, having used it on three short trips so far, I could not be more satisfied with it. Being a novice, I had reason to phone Garmin at their 1-800 number for clarification of a question, and their Customer Service department could not have been any nicer. Purchse of the Portable Auto Friction Mount has made the set-up very versatile."

After research, best choice for the money!

What's great about it: Easy to use, First Map Update Free, Free Traffic
What's not so great: Can't think of much
"I love that it seems to always have satellite. The free traffic notifications are very useful, too. You sometimes get a small advertisement when you stop, but not at all annoying. Even with a refurb, you get one free update within 60 days of using it. Because it was a refurb, I found that the online system, MyGarmin, wasn't giving me the update. I called Garmin, and in 10-15 mins they confirmed my purchase (by me emailing them my receipt from Best Buy) and the free update appeared online, for me to grab. Great Support! I also like the Google Maps feature that has the Garmin grab the POI right from Google Maps."

What's great about it: Ease of use, clear screen
What's not so great: Nothing
"I purchased a refurbished GPS to save on cash. Received the FIRST one, it worked great for about a week, then something happened and it wouldn't turn on. Was kind of a hastle to return the broken one, BUT Best Buy did send me a replacement immediatly.
The new one (also refurbished) has worked GREAT!!!"

Great Purchase

What's great about it: Easy setup, Easy to use, Great value, Highly functional
What's not so great: Lacks voice commands
"We've been on the fence about purchasing a GPS for years, as we rarely needed one in southeastern Michigan. My wife drove me down to Tennessee to shuttle me several times on an extended backpacking trip, and was concerned she wouldn't be able to find the trail crossings of backwoods roads, so I purchased this refurbished GPS at a deep discount to the original list price on short notice.
Delivery was very quick, and even my wife was able to set it up and get it working. It proved invaluable during our trip, and we found ourselves relying on it more and more. This model lacks voice command recognition, which would be nice for selecting destinations, especially if no one is in the car with you.
While we still don't really need it for Michigan driving, we will likely gift it to our directionally-challenged daughter when she returns from college."

Bad GPS

What's great about it: nothing...
What's not so great: Blown internal Speaker, screen flashes in and out...
"I should have bought a new one, I am having a lot of problem with the screen flashing in and out and sometimes the speakers doesn't voice my turns even when they are on. When it does speak it is distorted and sounds terrible."

What's great about it: Like the speed limit sign, the size, traffic icon
What's not so great: booklet & milages
"Like all the feaures. I did not find the booklet very helpful. It did not explain any of the features or how to use them. The mileages from the favorites to the Go btton is not the same. It is several miles different. The time of arrival is fine."

"I ordered a refurbished unit which arrived after 6 days. It refused to power up; I returned it to a local store. Anyway I have ordered another one and will update in a week :-)
I know it is a good model since my daughter has a similar one. The routing, traffic warnings and bluetooth work well.
It was just very disappointing to wait a week and receive a factory refurbihed unit that would not even power up."

Worth every penny

What's great about it: Ease of use, fully featured, plenty of extras
What's not so great: Haven't figured out how to delete via points without cancelling whole agenda
"I bought the nuvi 265WT about one month ago and think it is great. It does everything that is featured in the description and more. I can put all my friends into the favorites, and as we drive around, the unit shows us when we are near a friend's house. Terrific speed and response. No problems so far. Though you have to dig deep for some features, getting back to the main menu is as easy as holding down the back button for a few seconds. The bluetooth integration with the cell phone is also a plus. The call quality is high.
I am glad we made the choice for the refurbished model."

"I bought this unit because I wanted the features of a 265, and the price was better than a new unit. It's factory-refurbished, and still has a 1 year warranty, so I thought why not save a few bucks.
Out of the box, it set right up and worked with no problems. However, when I went to register it online with Garmin, it said the serial number has already been registered. A call to tech support fixed the problem in less than 5 minutes, if you don't count the 45 minutes I spen on hold!"
