Blew out my wall outlet!

What's not so great: Cheap quality. Not worth the price tag.
After having this for only two months, this GE microwave short circuited and blew out our wall outlet/receptacle. For the past few weeks, the fan (motor?) was getting louder and louder as the food was being cooked. This microwave is only used for reheating food and never goes above the two minute mark.
The wall outlet had to be replaced. Now I am stuck with a dead microwave. The original packaging and box were disposed so it can't be shipped back for warranty repairs. Now I may have to buy another microwave.
Never again with a GE product. I thought by paying a little extra the quality would be higher. Boy, was I mislead.
Stay away from this microwave!

What's great about it: Heating capabilities and sensor
What's not so great: Magnetron that burnt and caused very loud noise. Discontinued part!!!!
Bought this 11/1/11. Was very happy with its heating capability and noise level which was low. Then in January, it started to buzz very loudly. Set up service appointment with GE. Turns out that the Magnetron (whatever that is) was burnt per the GE serviceman. The part is no longer made and so was told to bring it back to BB to exchange for a new one on 1/31/12. So the product lasted less than 3 months.
BB was great in the exchange process. Customer service and salesgirl were very helpful. No hassle whatsoever! Only hassle was having to lug the microwave into the store.

We wanted a microwave with basic functions and reasonable price. I haven't any complaints about how it cooks. I like how it blends into the cabinet space with it's subtle key panel and door. We have purchased TWO of these microwaves and are satisfied.

What's great about it: The quality for the price,cooks fast.

We made this purchase because it had everything my wife neede and wanted in this nice size microwave.
Extremely easy to use, and a nice compact size compared to our old microwave. We have used this for awhile and have had no problem since our purchase. It is so easy our kids are able to reheat something without asking a lot of questions.

What's great about it: Works well, ease of use and can handle large items.
I purchased this microwave for my daughter for Christmas and she loves it. She says it's easy to use and works very well. She also says the size is perfect for her because she has a small kitchen, but the interior is large enough to hold casserole size bowls in it.

What's great about it: Size and works well.
What's not so great: Shorts out in less than two years.
Bought this unit about 18 months ago, and it was working great. Then the keypad shorted out. To fix Keypad price is more than I paid for the unit. I would like something to last more than 18 months for this price, but it was the perfect size for us and I can't find another one that is 1.4 cu.ft. We might buy this unit again and hope for the best.

What's great about it: Awesome features!
What's not so great: Hard to see digital numbers if not standing directly in front.
I am really amazed at what this microwave can do! The "popcorn" button cooked a bag of microwave popcorn perfectly. There were no burned kernals, and very few were left unpopped. The "potato" button cooked a potato to perfection. I used the "beverage" option to heat up a cup of water for hot chocolate, and it came out the perfect temperature! I like the "Add 30 sec." option and the kitchen timer. The keypad is easy to read and well laid out. If there was one thing that I wish I could change, it would be the green digital numbers... They're set back inside about three fourths of an inch from the face of the microwave. It makes them hard to see if you're not standing directly in front of them. But other than that, this microwave has everything that I could possibly want.

Bought this unit to upgrade from a .7 cu/ft to a larger unit. 18 months after purchase keypad shorted out. Keypad price is more than I paid for the unit. I need something to last more than 18 months with money as tight as it is.When the unit was working it was great.

The shortcut buttons are the best, cooks quickly and evenly. The midsize is great for not taking up a lot of space on the countertop. I am surprised at how easy and simple it is to use.

What's not so great: It is not built to last.
I bought my wife this microwave in December of 2009 and it stopped working in September of 2011. This unit was clearly *not* built to last. I would guess our family uses the microwave less than most families, as we tend to cook most of our meals on a stove or grill. In addition, we have the unit on it's own electrical circuit and clean it frequently. In less than two years the microwave stopped heating food all together.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: good price
What's not so great: paint peeling from inside
This microwave is good for me, big enough to handle my dishes but small enough to fit on the counter. I do not mind sound level, helps me to hear when finished since I leave the room to do other things. I did replace mine because the paint started to peel from the roof of the inside of the microwave.

After purchasing and returning a smaller microwave, I found this one. It is a great size; my plates fit perfectly in it for warming up dinner or leftovers. The power is great too! Really heats things up quick, and it's very quiet. Love all the features...especially the popcorn and potato buttons! It looks really nice too...almost retro.

Issue with quality and issue with design.
Quality-something is wrong with the fan or some spinning part inside the unit. Quite loud, sounds like a cheap microwave.

Design- clock/timer is so recessed that when standing close to the microwave as it sits on the counter, I have to bend down to read the clock/timer...and I'm only 6'0''. GE was NOT thinking when they designed it. Other than that it looks great. :/

I recently purchased this microwave to replace the same model that I've had since 1997. It works perfectly and has a few extra buttons that my other model did not have. I love the 'Reheat' feature and the fact that not as much as time is needed to cook my food as before.

What's great about it: sensor and add 30 sec features
I am a GE man from way back I love the add 30 sec feature and 1 button for minutes up to 5 also the popcorn button works really well took a few tries but im guessing cause it was new the sensor wasnt 100% out of the box
