The key board and mouse look cool and are comfortable to use. It does have a signal issue if you are an iPhone user. If you leave your phone in the proximity of the keyboard and walk way for 1-2 minutes it will drop the signal from your computer and you have to remove a battery for a moment and put it back in to reset. This happens to me multiple times a day. Other than that it works fine.
What's not so great: Connectivity issues

Installs quick and easy, don't need CD if running Win 7. As stated above great keyboard, good features and hot keys etc... Mouse is lousey, sketchy and bouncy/all over the place rediclous. Fix was to kill mouse and use other BT mouse, and it works fine. For the price both should work...
What's great about it: Keyboard and install
What's not so great: Mouse does not work well even after callibration.

I needed a new mouse, my faithful old MS wireless mouse started missing left clicks. I saw this combo and thought it would be cool to upgrade my keyboard too.
The keyboard works great and I love all the customizable buttons on it.
The mouse however has trouble tracking on the surface of my desk. I find this odd because my old MS mouse with the red laser worked fine on this surface and they're saying this new blue laser works better on more surfaces. I now have to put a notepad or something under my mouse in order to get it to track smoothly. BTW, my desk is the typical office issue dark walnut faux veneer that adorn most offices across the country. I may be returning this today for a logitech setup.
What's great about it: easy setup, super-customizable
What's not so great: blue laser thingy can't handle a surface that was never an issue for my old red laser mouse
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This keyboard/mouse combo package is absolutely wonderful!!
Though a little bit pricey, it is definitely worth the purchase.
Set up was easy with the CD-ROM that came with the purchase.
Now I just plug in the small USB receiver and both the keyboard and mouse work like a charm! No delay at all, great connectivity, range, and sensitivity!
THE ONLY COMPLAINT I HAVE is that on the keyboard, there are "Next, Previous, Pause/Play, and Stop" buttons established for music.
When using iTunes, my default music player, pushing the "Next" or "Previous" buttons causes the media player to skip two songs, instead of one. This is not a big deal, since I usually have my music on a shuffle setting, but the overactive/sensitive buttons have been slightly frustrating.
But considering that THIS is my ONLY complaint, I would ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND THIS deal!
Works perfectly otherwise!
What's great about it: Convenient, easy set up, great sensitivity, range, versatility
What's not so great: over-active/sensitive "Next" and "Previous" buttons for music on the keyboard, a little bit pricey
I would recommend this to a friend!

i really like using my keyboard and mouse and 9 time out of 10 will use the keyboard instead of the one that is on my laptop if it is hooked up
it comes with 4 batteries (2 keyboard, 2 mouse(however it will work with one))
the mouse is nice sized and feels great, however i cant use it without pulling out my keyboard tray a little bit as my hand will not fit
it comes with nice software with shows a volume meter evey time you hit a volume button and the tree light for the caps, number pad, and scroll lock also pop up in a box like this
there are many keys that will open things like your music player and email. there is also 5 keys that you can assign to open anything you want
i dont know if i would pay 80 dollars for it, as i got mine way on sale
some people may have trouble with this if their wireless router uses the 2.4ghz frequency (i dont know if it will affect your neighbors if your in an apartment)
also has nice weight, so you know it is made good
What's great about it: 5 programal keys, 5 button mouse, quick lanch keys, software, blue track laser
What's not so great: finger prints show up on glossy finish, but wash off easy
I would recommend this to a friend!

I almost bought an Apple wireless keyboard and mouse combo for over twice the price, but when I saw Apple only has 1 offering (and I discovered it was extremely tiny and only compatible with their latest OS) I started searching for a better option. THIS keyboard and mouse combo are PERFECT. Instantly compatible with my less than brand new Mac, installation was as easy as it gets, and with a Mac it defaults to all the Mac shortcut keys - no work required. The design is PERFECT for laptop use with the wrist rest and curved back panel. This is the first non-Apple hardware I've bought, and its my favorite peripheral. It is easily worth twice the price.
What's great about it: Perfect full-sized Mac compatible keyboard
What's not so great: Nothing

I only gave this product 4/5 stars because the fact that it came to me BROKEN. I had to open up the keyboard and realign the buttons! Once I did that however everything seems to be working, in fact I am using the keyboard this very second. No lag, all the buttons on the keyboard work and a a function. Mouse is a little big in the hands, but who cares? Overall this is a great product! Just hope you don't get a defective one like I did.
What's great about it: Easy setup, great functionality
What's not so great: price is a tad high

At first I was frustrated to the point of returning this. For some reason the wireless keyboard was acting up and would lag intermittently etc. The transceiver is supposed to have a 30ft range of which I was about a whole 5 of. Anyway it finally dawned on me that my router is unfortunately broadcasting B/G which is a 2.4GHz freq. Well guess what freq this setup operates on? Yeah so I basically just changed the channel to auto and averted the obvious interference that was happening. Once this happened I immediately had the reliability that one should expect from Microsoft keyboards/mice. I love the form factor and can honestly say that I type faster on this keyboard than almost any. The Bluetrack technology on the mouse makes DPI ridiculous and even gamers can utilize this. Sadly Logitech (who I also love) have nothing comparable as far as a bundle. They do have an exceptional stand alone keyboard but it costs as much as this whole package. Dollar for dollar you can't even touch this (hammer time).
What's great about it: Battery life, ergonomics, lightweight, and signal strength
What's not so great: Funky keyboard layout, no refresh button to be found
I would recommend this to a friend!

Just picked up the Microsoft Desktop 3000 combo a few days ago, so I cannot rate the longevity of the batteries, etc. I can say the range from equipment to USB receiver will make it to 15 feet, but I am unable to test beyond that range right now.
Simply put, after trying a Rocketfish combo, I love the Microsoft 3000 combo. The keyboard and mouse both have a great feel to them, and everything works. I can highlight text in any application reliably with the mouse or keyboard, and so far, I have not been able to type or move the mouse faster than the signal can handle.
I've read two constant complaints about this combo:
1. The signal may not be secure.
2. The function keys are not very usable.
My personal opinion is 1.) Having an insecure keyboard to receiver signal for 30 feet is really not going to make any difference, unless someone is sitting in your back yard with some extremely sophisticated test equipment allowing them to hack your keyboard strokes, so who cares? And 2.) Yes, the function key setup on the keyboard is a little strange. I wish Microsoft had put the primary functions on the F keys themselves, and put the shortcuts in the background. However, I found that if you install the Microsoft Intellipoint software for full functionality, then when you set the F lock to on, it will stay that way each time you log on, so you don't have to worry about it. ( I use the actual function keys much more than the shortcuts associated with the same function keys, so I just leave the function keys locked on).
However, despite these things, the combo is great, it works as advertised, and the software for the mouse and keyboard allow you to configure each in almost any fashion you like. And, just for extra bonus, you can actually uninstall Intellipoint software if you choose, as opposed to Logitech Setpoint software, which you have to yank out of your computer's registry with hooks and chains.
What's great about it: Very functional with Windows 7, good quality, mouse and keyboard buttons all programmable.
What's not so great: Function keys setup as secondary in priority behind shortcuts on same keys.

It's a pretty good keyboard/mouse combo, but the function keys are lame. As a programmer, I'm always using the function keys (F5 to debug, F10/F11 to step, etc), and this keyboard just doesn't cut it for that type of work.
What's great about it: functionality, programmability, wireless
What's not so great: function keys make it unusable

I got this keyboard/mouse set as a house warming gift back in August. For the first two to three months, it was great. It types well and was total liberation from my old wired set. It's relaxing to read through pages and pages while lounging back in your office chair.
Then... the honeymoon ended. Consequently, right around the time that the return policy ended. Starting with the mouse, there is a little button on the right hand side of the mouse that will send the computer into a 'zoom' setting. An interesting addition - if I needed it! I accidentally press it all the time, as it sets right where my ring finger lies on the side of the mouse. So it's quite a hassle trying to close the program down. If I'm running a high-intensity program like the Adobe Suites, often the simple act of accidentally pressing the button will crash my entire system, forcing me to hard boot and loose all of my work!
Now, its possible to change the button settings, but every time I shut down my computer, the default settings come back! So, everytime I turn my system back on, I have to go through the 8 step process to turn the stupid thing off, in a poorly placed button that isn't important to begin with!
Now, the real hassle. I'm not sure if my USB drive that comes with the system has blown out or if the system is simply poorly made, but it seems at LEAST once a day my keyboard AND mouse will become completely unresponsive! It forces me to (again!) hardboot my computer, unplug the USB drive which is quite a feat in itself, as my computer is underneath my desk and pushed against a wall, find a new USB outlet, plug it back in, and turn the computer on. Again, this causes me to lose my work! There's no system to it, it happens randomly but at least four or five times a week.
An absolute nightmare. For a while, it got to the point where I completely scrapped it and went back to my old keyboard and mouse. Which were terrible!
When this system works, it works great! But it malfunctions too much to see the good anymore. I LOVE having a wireless keyboard, just don't buy this one. Unless you're a masochist and fond of headaches.
What's great about it: Types great, keys are durable
What's not so great: Malfunctions often, poorly designed
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

After several years dealing with multiple Dell Bluetooth keyboards that either worked intermittantly or just failed completely, I finally converted to the Microsoft Wireless Desktop 3000 after reading online reviews and comparing specs. So far, the system has worked flawlessly and has never dropped connection with my PC. The keyboard is ergonomic and well laid out and the mouse is very comfortable in the hand.
What's great about it: Really simple to install, and stays connected wirelessly with fast response time, even in game play
What's not so great: Haven't found any flaws yet

No software to install, full size keyboard, very quiet. Very comfortable mouse, very precise, nice scrolling. Compatible with Windows 7. The one thing I don't like about it is you can't tell if the caps locks is on. Other than that, I am more than pleased with this item.
What's great about it: Nothing to install, just plug in the wireless remote and it works. Compatible with Windows 7.

I'm an Industrial Design BFA Major who uses the computer between 4 and 12 hours a day. I also love some serious gaming. Both of these tasks require precision and good response time between your input and the computer.
I have a home theater PC setup (Windows 7 64-bit/Vista 32-bit dual boot) in my house. So I like to sit at the couch and play/work comfortably. -In other words, cut the cords. This is my third wireless mouse and keyboard setup. The first was the Rocketfish combo. The second was the Logitech s520 combo.
In a nutshell, the 'EPIC FAIL' with the first two sets (which I do not recommend purchasing; both were used for at least 6 months - +1 year) are as follows:
The Rocketfish Combo had a great range (+60 ft), but, was often difficult to sync without a restart, and would experience a input overload while playing games. Leaving you running in the same direction shooting your gun until you and your teammates were dead.
The Logitech s520 had a minimal profile and nice configurability, but, It would often randomly disconnect and reconnect at its own will (like the Rocketfish, but 3 times more). -Even if you forced your USB ports to stay on 24/7. It also failed miserably at range. If you didn't literally sit 5 feet in front of the sensor, or angle it right, only half of your input would be received and you would fail instantly. -You're dead Jim.. dead.
Now, all high end artistic and manufacturing software I use aside, I would consider myself a serious gamer. I beat most of my competitors using a wireless setup. I play Left for Dead 1 & 2 a ton. Often hours on end. The biggest problem I've had is 'disconnect' because it is wireless. My friends swear by 'corded' keyboards and mice like most gamers do because it gives them 'an edge' and they don't disconnect. -Every millisecond, right?.. -So namely, slower response time, and wireless disconnect.
I have a 46" TV, and don't like sitting 2 feet in front of it. So I've been searching for a decent wireless mouse and keyboard combo for a while. - I believe I've found it.
I've owned and used this set everyday for +2 months now, and it hasn't disconnected on me once the whole time. -Not once, not ever (Now that alone, is enough of a reason to purchase this product). But there's more.
I am usually a Microsoft skeptic and opt-out for trusted Logitech products. But I took a chance on this set, and am surprisingly not disappointed for once.
Gamers take:
Pros:
-NEVER disconnects. Ever.
-Plug and Play. Only need to install the software to program special keys.
-Really does get good wireless range +12 ft (unless you've got lots of obstructions). -Unlike Logitech s520.
-Very fast response time. Better than the other two by far. -Gamer worthy in my opinion.-Fragtastic!
-Sleek design. Nice feel. Extra keys.
-Blue Track is amazing. Surfaces aren't a problem anymore.
Cons:
-Scroller lacks rolling 'clicks' and over/under-scrolls sometimes. -Will annoy some. I don't use it to cycle weapons etc., it takes too long in battle. -I assign buttons so I'm ok with it.
-No lights for those gamers that have to look down at their keyboards at night.
-Some say it eats batteries. But I haven't had to replace mine yet.
-Function keys are smaller and have a Fn-key. -Not a big deal.
Bottom line:
Gamers. Consider this wireless combo for gaming. It doesn't disconnect, has a fast response time, and tracks on nearly any surface. I deem it gamer worthy.
What's great about it: Never disconnects. Ever. Period.
What's not so great: Smooth scroller can be inaccurate.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Overall is it an above average keyboard and an average mouse. It was expensive as compared to competitors with no real advantages.
What's great about it: The straight keyboard does not take up too much space on the desktop.
What's not so great: Mouse wheel moves to silently without clicking to a point to move from.
