What's great about it: NOTHING
What's not so great: VERY DIFFICULT TO INSTALL AND USED
I found the intructions difficult to understand and very lacking. I was expecting a "Plug and Play" but it isn't.
It is difficult to use and I get very little use.
I REALLY REGRET BUYING THIS UNIT!!
My laptop did not come with a CD/DVD drive I so read the BET BUY reviews and ordered what thought would be to best and easierst to use ....WRONG

What's great about it: Easy Installation, Price, Takes up very little space
What's not so great: Nothing
I was kinda worried when I bought it because it was on clearance and doubted whether or not it would work for what I needed it for. I WAS WRONG!!!! I plugged it in and it automatically installed itself, I didnt have to do a thing, I immediately started burning dvd's with no problems whatsoever. I highly recomend this burner for everyone, especially if your new to computers and dont want to go through the hassle of installing a new internal burner.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought this drive to install programs in my new netbook. The drive is a real plug and play device. No manual to read, no driver to install, just plug in and it is ready to use. It is Windows 7 compatible.

What's great about it: Works great, no special drivers or experience needed
What's not so great: I have no negative comments, great product.
Probably one of the easiest peripherals I have ever purchased. It worked great on my Asus netbook, then I plugged it into my 5 year old Dell desktop since the internal DVD burner is malfunctioning. Win XP recognized it, and quickly had it working. I burned Dual Layer DVD's almost immediately and it worked perfectly. All my DVD apps had no problem working with the drive.
If only all DVD peripherals could work this well!

What's great about it: Easy set up, price
I love this product! I got it up and running in a matter of minutes (actually seconds). I just plugged it in, and go! Very easy. The price is good too. Would definitely recommend it.
The only issue is having to using two usb ports, but I have plenty of them available on my computer.

I like it. I bought a Asus eee netbook and needed a CD DVD drive for it.
I use VLC media reader with the drive and am satisfied with the performance of the drive

This product WILLNOT work with my front mount USB ports! I have to install it with the REAR ports. The cables are TOO SHORT to reach my rear ports. I've bought longer cables, but not yet used them.

What's great about it: Fast, quiet.
What's not so great: Requires 2 USB ports.
Works well, I tested it out on Windows XP, Vista, and also a couple flavors of Linux. Auto detect on all systems, no drivers were needed. Needs 2 USB ports close together (side by side or over / under) because one port can't supply enough power (not a big problem these days, as most computers have multiple USB ports, but it's not really mentioned on the outside of the box).

Hey Everybody I bought his DVD Burner for my computer, its really easy to install, took me 5 mins. You can burn DVDs and watch Movies on it ( you need a program that can allow you to watch Movies),

I loved this amazing product! Ever since a got it i have been burning home movie for family members in a flash using a video burning software (ConverterXtoDVD). Making up for the double usb chord you have to use to sharge and burn at the same time, it has fast burning speeds i burned 5, 20 min videos (one big iso file) in about ten minutes! Dang thats fast comparing to my old dvd writer that took a long time to burn! This is something i'm definetly recomending to freinds!

What's not so great: haven't found one yet
Okay ,I have had it for about a month and it was easy to install ,plug it in a go.The software was great all so.To play movies on netbook,need to get a video player software off the web then you can play movies. As far as burning dvd's and cd's software thats come with is great....good luck with your if you buy one.

This is my first external DVD writer. I brought this since the DVD writter inmy HP Pavalion laptop stopped working. Have had this for about a month now and have been able to write CD's and DVD's easily and without issues. Some of the users had mentioned difficulty in setting it up, but I did not face any such issues. The writer is also small in size and easy to carry.
The only disadvantage for me is that it uses 2 USB drives for charging. I would still recomend this product for the price and ease of use.

If you have a laptop that only has 2 usb ports, makes it hard to do anything else. I also have a usb hub that is powered, it doesn't work at all with that.
As much as I like it, I HAD to return it to the store.

What's great about it: Quick, Doesn't look cheap for the price.

I burned a 4GB DVD in under 7 minutes. Its quick and quiet (someone said it was noisy but I didn't hear anything until the drive popped out when it finished burning) and it was very easy to instal. My HP Mini had the Cyberlink software already on it so it was plug and play. Comes with a stand but I doubt I will use it but its a good option. How can you go wrong for 60 bucks, pick this up, you will be shocked how well it works compared to the bigger brands.
I would recommend this to a friend!

It is nice and compact. It also has good performance as well and is very easy to set up. It has the software to burn cds and dvds but it doesn't play dvd movies with out the software to do so which my netbook did not have.
I would recommend this to a friend!

my nephew didnt need me to show him how to use it I took it out of the box loaded the programs on his netbook and the rest was up to him ... he was loading games and playing them with no troubles at all.
