What's great about it: Easy to set up and all works great with 'hidden' components
What's not so great: No complaints at all now that they're compatible with OS Lion
I love this remote from Logitech, but I had to wait a few weeks until Logitech had provided a firmware update to be compatible with OS Lion.
I can't express how EASY the set up was. All my components are hidden behind cabinet doors and this makes them all talk to one another effortlessly.
My old system of RF and IR was bulky, fragile and had yards of wiring. This is simple, efficient and super-easy to use.
I've always loved Logitech products and this item is now my new favorite.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: It's pretty to look at
What's not so great: 2 years in and it is NOT worth the money spent
My husband and I were pretty excited when we got this on a black friday deal and immediately went home and set it up. It seemed like such a great idea to have one remote to control everything. 2 years in. It doesn't keep time, doesn't turn things off and on consistently, doesn't correctly coordinate which input is needed for a device. More than half the time I will try to watch a blu-ray and the input will have never changed from the DVR input. and then when I go to turn the system off, it will turn the sound system off (like it should) and then turn it back on again. Yes, I have updated the software and that has NOT corrected the MANY issues. There is also a BIG TIME lag between commands. In this amount of time you could have easily turned on the tv and DVR to watch tv. I am going to cross my fingers and reset it to see if that helps. It's funny that I just now tried to watch TV and it never turned the DVR on. This is not a purchase I would make again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: RF function is great feture
What's not so great: Setup can be little tricky
I was planning to install Control4 for my home theater system in basement. Instead I purchased this remote to control my HTS components. So far I love it! RF function is great help because my components are outside of Home Theater room. Setup can be little tricky for novice users but certainly do not require you to be geek. I control my Projector/Receiver/Lighting/DVD/Blu-Ray/STB with this remote. I had no issue adding any components and macro. This is my second Harmony Remote and so far I love it. Only thing I can complain about is, my old remote battery stop charging on cradle so I had to purchase separate charger for battery.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is a replacement for an older harmony RF remote. RF set up and function is significantly improved from 890 remote. 890 remote failed without warning and had issues with LCD screen. This seems to be much more durable and reliable.

What's great about it: Good mix of design and functionality. Easy to use.
What's not so great: Set-up failed first three times. Almost took it back.
I had two Harmony 1000 touch screen remotes that failed after two years. They were a problem from the start with problems in set-up. They also required constant re-booting by removing the batteries. I had decided never to get another Logitech Harmony. However, there is not much available if you want an RF remote and a friend recommended this one, as he had good luck with it. It works great great. No problems. No rebooting. But, I had to go through the set-up on three different computers before it finally started up. Worked fine once it was set-up.

This is the best universal remote i have ever owned. I previously owned a less expensive rf remote from universal remote, and it did the job but it was a pain to program and use. This remote took no time to program and you push one button to turn everything on and you are ready to go. I got it on sale for 240.00 which i felt was a good buy. My only complaint is the power button is awkward to push, but that is a very minor complaint. If you need a rf universal remote this is it.

What's great about it: nothing
What's not so great: does not work well. must be close to equipment to get a response.
the only model Best Buys offers. that is short sighted and unfortunate.
i had the original logitech 900 RF remote. it was awesome. immediate response from all equipment and great distance range. the best. the contact units for the charger wore out.
the new model did not work at all. it would not work thru the glass cabinet that holds the equipment. the old 900 did work thru glass no problem.
i returned the new 900 for refund.

What's great about it: The interface on the device, the interface on the software to set up the device, the responsiveness of the touch screen
What's not so great: Just doesn't work reliably
I don't think what I'm trying to do is very involved for a $350 remote. Watch TV and Watch DVD ... turn on the correct components for each and turn off everything at the end. I've spent about 5 hours of my own time and 2.5 hours on the phone with 2 tech support people and the remote just doesn't do what it's supposed to do. Maybe 60% of the time it works and then you press "off" and it leaves the projector and DVD player on. Or maybe it turns on the DVD player when you pressed "watch TV," or maybe the receiver never turned on at all. I love the idea of what this remote can do, but I cannot reliably make it do what it's supposed to do.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I replaced my Harmony 890 and it's like night and day. Took me about 20 minutes to set everything up and set my RF Blaster and mini blasters. A great improvement!

I purchased this remote at Bestbuy about 3 weeks ago to compliment my new TV-AVR system (Samsung UN46D7000 TV, Denon AVR and Samsung Blue Ray player). It took about 20 minutes to setup the remote and it has been working perfectly since then. My wife loves it as it replaced 4 remotes! Easy to use even for a novice. I highly recommend it!!!

What's not so great: a little slick, shows fingerprints badly
great unit easy set up, works great with all the features with 8 different devices. rechargable is great as the sony unit ate batteries and even with rechargeable batteries the sony was only good for three weeks and it was 4 AAA. Single charge last 2 weeks with same usage.
A must buy for the tech savvy or not. Price is reasonable for all the features and if set up is followed correctly inside the cabinet all components work with ease with no drilling holes and no fuse.
I would recommend this to everyone and best but had the best price.

What's great about it: Single remote for all devices, no more holding remote pointed at devices
What's not so great: Installation and setup
We absolutely love the Harmony remotes, this is our third. Even though this model is a little pricey, I still think it is good value for the price. The best part of this model is the ability to set up the IR transmitters by your devices, which now means no more holding your remote pointed at the devices as they all turn on! Now when the parents or in-laws are staying over we don't have to give a course on how to use the TV. And we also like the ability to set up "favorites." Another great item for when company is over, they can choose the "ESPN" or "Lifetime" button instead of scrolling through pages and pages on the guide.
And the bad, the setup. If you have setup a Harmony in the past, you are aware of the difficulties setting these up. Doing my 5th setup (I have done a couple for friends) this still took me about an hour and a half to setup. Even then, adding the icons for my "Favorites" was not real easy.
Even with that, I still highly recommend this remote, I won't control my TVs any other way!

What's not so great: Needs to control TV better, turn on receiver after it is manually turned off, control more equipment features.
It works well, except when the TV is left in internet mode and the next user wants to watch network TV programming. Also, if the receiver is turned off at the receiver unit, the remote does not turn the receiver on, it must be turned on manually. It would also be nice if the remote could be used to turn the receivers zone 2 function on and set it up.

Great to use, but difficult to set up for multiple devices. Once set up the remote is great. Would recommend to anyone who wants to get rid of all those remotes they currently use to watch a program.

I bought this because it's easy to use. Specifically, for my girlfriend. The built in Help feature saves me many phone calls when stuff isn't working properly because she clicked the wrong buttons or whatever.

It can control pretty much everything as far as being a remote. The remote can hook up to the computer to easy to program. The only defaults are when the activities don't work and the remote tries to fix the problem and it never does. (for example the tv power did not turn on). You have to do it manually. The other problem was I had 2 Onkyo receivers (different models) and the remote controlled both. That was kind of annoying. Otherwise good remote.

I really wanted to like this remote, but how can you when it wont go through the setup on either Leopard or Snow Leopard (I tried both). I kept this for almost two weeks, and tried everything that Logitech said, everything in the forums, everything in blogs, etc., etc., etc. I wasted a good 15 hours trying to get this to go, but it never got past trying to talk to the Logitech website to set it up. OSX recognized the remote as a network device, but the Logitech software never got anywhere. Good luck if you run OSX...
