Ibelieve that the Windows 7 upgrade is a fantastic one. It only takes about 15-20 minutes to upgrade and it's well worth the price.

What's great about it: Speed of handling large programs
What's not so great: Haven't really found anything yet.
I am pleased with this program for use on my household computer. It's a good improvement over Vista and XP. Non technical people in family needed no instruction to get up-to-speed on how to use it.

What's great about it: Easy to install, Good Bang For the Buck
What's not so great: Takes a long time to upgrade 3 to 4 hours
I took a older HP DV7 that was Running windows vista Its running like new. Downloaded the windows 7 upgrade adviser fixed or removed items that would hinder the upgrade. For people who are having issues with slowdown, errors and just overall performance on vista. Its amazing what it can do. One suggestion i also took the 4gb of memory and upgraded it to 8gb now its lightning fast. After the upgrade it 18 seconds for a full boot.

What's great about it: Ease of use
What's not so great: Price is high and no manuals
I was reluctant to upgrade to Windows 7 from Vista because I thought it would be difficult to set up hardware compatibility and maybe some of my existing software would have to be upgraded. Turns out the upgrade was a snap and I didn't have to do much of anything other than answer a few basic questions during the installation. The upgrade took several hours to complete with only a few mouse clicks on my part. Most of that time the upgrade was downloading the latest service packs from Microsoft and installing the latest hardware drivers for my laptop. Windows 7 is prettier than Vista, more stable, and there isn't much of a learning curve. If you know Vista then you can run Win 7. I bought a book online that's full of tips and tweaks to fine tune the OS. Lastly, I migrated my contacts and messages from Outlook to Windows Live Mail which was also very easy and I like Live Mail better.

What's great about it: Very easy to install.
What's not so great: I expected more changes from Vista but didn't notice many.
I upgraded from Windows Vista & had no problems w/ the installation. I have only basic computer skils. First, I read & printed all the directions & followed all the precautions to save my programs.
It took me 3h to get the process completed but it uneventful.

What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Messages popping up saying that it is a pirated copy on both 32-bit and 64-bit.
I like Windows 7 over other versions of Windows, but I have to say I have had problems with Windows 7. This is my third time trying Windows 7. I have installed Windows 7 32-bit and received a message that it was a pirated copy. I thought this had to be a mistake since I bought it from Best Buy. This copy distroyed my computer. I then installed Windows 64-bit and had the same problem, but immediately stopped using it so it wouldn't destroy this computer and took my computer back to Best Buy. They had to completely wipe my hard drive clean and reinstall the brand new copy of Windows 7. Is there some kind of virus installed on Windows 7 so that we must keep buying it in order for it to work and not damage our computers? If it happens again with this copy I am buying a MAC.

What's great about it: not Vista, support for 3TB disks
What's not so great: installation took a LONG time.
A 3TB drive was not usable under Vista so I took a chance and upgraded to Windows 7. The installation from DVD went well though a bit nerve wracking when it seemed to be stuck at 60% of completion. Installation did complete and the 3TB drive worked immediately upon installation.
Windows 7 install took at least 18 hours as far as I could see. But files were left in the same place and overall the process was painless.

It was relatively easy to install in view of the fact that I had heard many stories about how long it would take. I can't tell a whole lot of difference so far but I'm sure I'll come to appreciate its value. I would have liked to be able to install it on my laptop as well as my desktop for the same cost

What's great about it: The ease of transfer
What's not so great: maybe the cost
If I had know how simple it was going to be to go from Vista to Windows 7 I would have done it much much sooner. I had worried about transfering all of my programs but it was absolutly no chore.

What's great about it: Cost-effective, great functionality
What's not so great: No complaints
Older HP laptop running Vista would not accept updates and was operating slowly. $120 and less than an hour later, Windows 7 exceeded expectations! It's like having a new computer.
All of software that ran before still runs. :-)
