What's great about it: clarity, loud
What's not so great: Subwoofer
The 2 speakers are amazing and clear sounding but when I turned it up to hear the subwoofer the sub sounded like it was going to blow. The subwoofer is not very loud and doesn't sound to amazing but the speakers definitely make up for it and they sound terrific! I would still recommend them to anyone.

What's great about it: Great all around sound & nice bass

After being disappoint with a set on Sony's, I returned them & decided to go with another set. Had my mind set on Logitech for about $49.99. Read really good reviews. When I got to the store, I checked out the displays. This model really impressed me. Never heard the brand before so I was a bit hesitant. After about 15 minutes of going back & forth with the Logitechs, I decided on these. I listen to a lot of bass heavy electronica/dubstep & this system definitely packs a punch. I also listen to a lot of metal & the mids/highs definitely satisfied me. Only gripe I had, very small, was the mess of cables. I got over it quick. Oh & not a huge fan of the look of speakers. Don't like the glossly look or the bright blue light. Small gripe. Definitely recommend this set.

This unit will by no means replace a home audio system, but for a small computer speaker system, it's great. The subwoofer obviously doesn't provide booming bass, but it does provide a nice, full sound for music. I'm not a gamer, so I can't speak for that use, but I imagine it would do quite nicely. When I initially hooked it up and was testing it out, my wife told him that she could hear it in the basement on the opposite side of the house.
The only thing I don't like, as has been commented on already by others, is the blue LED light. It is really bright. If you're in a dimly-lit room, it's like someone is shining a laser pointer in your eyes. But this can be easily remedied with a piece of tape.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's not so great: All the cords that are too short, ungodly bright blue light!
I was really excited to get these speakers so I could plug them into my laptop which doesn't have really good sound.
#1. The sound was only a tad better than my lap top adding only a little volume and some bass. No problem, I still got a good price.
#2. The cords, 4 of them, are all too short.
#3. I'm telling you. That bright blue light is insane! It's will light up a dark room and if you look at it in the dark, it's blinding. I'm not joking. I've tried putting objects in front of the light and finally used duct tape. You can still see the glow but it's not blinding. The cords are too short to move the speakers more that 3 feet from the object so the glow is always within sight.
Price aside, I wouldn't recommend these speakers.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bought these to replace my old school JBL Creatures after they finally gave up the ghost. For $70, these do a pretty good job. Bass response is decent given the size and relatively small power supply. My truck has 10" JL's, and my home theater has a 12" Velodyne with several hundred watts of power, so I like my bass. This certainly doesn't thump like my other systems by ANY means, but for streaming Pandora while working or playing some games, it does an ample job. Mids and highs are produced fairly well too.
Appearance matches my Samsung monitors well too, but as others have said the blue power LED is too bright.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I originally had the Bose Companion 2 set. After multiple defective units that had a high pitch buzzing, I decided to try these Insignia speakers... and I'm so glad I did!
They are very clear and crisp sounding. The sub-woofer is adjustable to add your preferred amount of bass.
The only complaint I have is that the LED is so bright it can blind you! Just put some tape over it and you'll be fine.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I purchased a "used" set of these, which is an understatement. They arrived just as if I had bought them new, but that's irrelevant. I picked these up extraordinarily cheap, but would have NO PROBLEM paying list price for them. They look similar to a 5.1 Logitech system I paid much more for, but sound for being a 2.1 system, is amazing. I tore them open and cranked them. They rocked my house. The iPod cradle is a nice touch. I especially like having a treble switch right on the front of the speaker. Combining my sound card's software EQ and using the switches on the subwoofer and switch on the speakers, I have what I'd call a perfect PC audio experience. Superb speakers. Once I turned them on and turned them up, I almost forgot this is a "store brand" system.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought these speakers to replace a cheap CA 2.1 system that I've been using for the last few years. I like that the satellites each have separate mid-range and tweeters. The sub-woofer puts out a surprisingly good amount of low bass, but it does suffer from the same "boomy" sound that smaller subs suffer from. It took a bit of tweaking with the equalizer software on my computer to get the right sound, but once I found it I was happy with the results.
The aux in and headphone jacks on the front of the right satellite are a nice touch. In addition to computer speakers this set would be great for using as a small stand-alone system with an iPod or other MP3 player., or even patching your computer into a receiver if it's nearby and you have a long enough cord.
The piano-black finish on the front of the satellites is attractive and actually matches my awesome Insignia 6.5 inch bookshelf speakers that are part of my main sound system.
Complaints are few and minor- the blue power light on the front is VERY bright. I had to put a small black piece of tape over it to keep it out of my eyes. I don't like that the bass adjustment is on the back of the sub instead of on the front of the right satellite with the other adjustments, although once set I have not had to touch it again.
Will this system replace your main stereo system? Nope, but for it's intended use as a computer sound system or even as a small bedroom or secondary system it's more than adequate!

I was at Best Buy browsing speakers for home PC and thought the Bose speakers sounded awesome, but for $299, I just couldn't pull the trigger. I saw these guys on sale for $59.99 and had a couple giftcards with like $20 on them. I paid a total of about $40 for these speakers and I couldn't be happier. The sound is crisp, nice bass, adjustable treble, and I never need to turn the volume beyond 1/3 of the way up. These babies can crank if you let them. I would recommend these to anybody looking for a sleek-looking and great sounding speaker for their PC. One thing I *might* say could be a negative for people is they are a little big and I had to organize my desk a little to make room, but they look great now. I use them with Winamp's SHOUTcast radio but there is also an Auxiliary port for connecting your mp3 player. I haven't tried this yet as I don't intend to ever use this feature.

I'll admit, $70 seems like a lot for a small 2.1 speaker setup, but the sound these put out is anything but small, and the sound quality is great, especially for a Best Buy knock-off brand. If you slapped a better known name (sony, logitech, altec-lansing, etc.# on this setup you would be paying more and CNet would post raving reviews about it. I bought the protection plan, bringing the cost up to $82, but I would do it again tomorrow #and if the product fails, I get a brand new set#. Folks complaining about the sound probably don't realize how many different factors on their pc or other device are involved with the sound output #sound card's software EQ and effects, their media player's EQ and effects, and then the controls on the speakers themselves).
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought these speakers 7 weeks ago, and already blew the left speaker. It started vibrating on the bass. Out of the box, these speakers just didn't have the push I would expect from the advertised wattage. I live in a 1300 sq ft apartment, and even with the sound maxed out, if I was 30 ft. away in a different room, I could barely hear the music.
I guess I expected more from a $70 speaker system. I got a lot more sound from my old Sony speakers that were only 5 watt speakers.
Not a good buy. Best Buy refunded me the price, and I'm going with a different set.
