What's great about it: Great picture, easy setup!
What's not so great: None that I can think of currently.
Bought this for my Bonus Room in the home, and I have loved every minute of having this product!
The picture is crisp, and in conjunction with my Onkyo receiver provides an incredible picture to go along with the sound. It has made my Bluray movies look great, and playing Madden with my PS3 on it is even more amazing.
I would highly recommend this product. For a 1080p projector for less than $1000 this is a can't miss in my book.

What's great about it: Good product for the price.
What's not so great: Rainbow effect on brights
Bought this in combination with a BluRay player, and HDMI Splitter (which allows me to send signal from the player to either the HDTV or to the HD projector, depending on what I want to watch.
The quality of the picture is fantastic, we've enjoyed crystal clear video at about 150" projection. My only caveat is that there is definitely noticeable "rainbow effect" - an artifact from the DLP projection system - some people notice it, and sadly, I'm one of those people. If you find that distracting (I occasionally do) you may want to look into the LCD instead of the DLP systems.
That said, I'm very satisfied with the value to quality ratio of the projector.

What's great about it: Perfection in video for less than $1,000
What's not so great: Nothing
I replaced a 720P projector with this one and I still can't believe how much better my Blu Rays look on my 11' screen. It is bright enough to have a vivid picture with minimal room lights, but it looks fabulous with the room dark. Colors are great and the sharpness and detail is amaziing.. especially for a projector selling for less than $1,000.
This is my third home theatre projector and by far the best and least expensive. I don't care if I ever set foot in a theater again.
I would strongly recomend the HD20 to anyone!

What's great about it: Quiet, quick power up and down
What's not so great: sell, promote or be informed of a decent ceiling mount for it
This projector is great. It is quiet, easy to use, lightweight and the picture is awesome. I mounted it where the previous noisy broken $10,000 projector was. It is ceiling mounted 15ft away from a 105" screen. The adjustments on the lens made it fit the screen perfectly. Best Buy only stocks universal mounts for this model. Don't waste your time. I found online from a different vendor a mount for the projector, the BM-5001U. No help from Best Buy on that one. I would highly recommend getting this if you do a ceiling mount.
So for the price of the projector(less than $1000), the mount($125), and the 4yr protection plan ($219 and highly recommended as the bulbs are not cheap), you will have an awesome viewing experience.

What's great about it: Great price and picture!
I bought this from Best Buy over 2 years ago, because it was the lowest priced 1080p projector they offered. I am very impressed at it's lifespan. I have 2500 hours on the bulb picture still great. I play lots of video games and blu-rays. Great for watching TV, you name it. I have it in light controlled basement at 112", Very satisfied. Only fault is the features, I wish there was PIP of some kind. Bang for buck!!

What's great about it: Beautiful picture on my 11' diagonal screen
What's not so great: Remote too bright, My unit cannot be controlled with remote after it warms up.
This is a great projector for the money. The High def pictures are superb! I have no issues with recommending this projector to a friend. Setup is no more or less complex than any other DLP projector. However, one problem exists - when the projector warms up, it can no longer be controlled with the remote. The issue is not with the remote, but with the projector itself. Unfortunately, this problem occurred just after the 14-day return period at Best Buy. They told me I would have to take it to the Geek Squad. I think I will live with the problem and let the projector turn itself off after 5 minutes of no signal.. That is a much better alternative than giving it to Geek squad and having to wait for over a month to get it back. (That's what happend with my last projector.)

What's great about it: Picture quality, easy set up, features, price, silent operation.
What's not so great: Room MUST be pretty dark to get the best picture quality.
This is my first projector. Won't be my last. I don't believe I will ever go TV shopping again. The picture quality is amazing enough to rival any HD TV in the market. I did not get a screen and am using the wall as a backdrop and the picture quality is still great. I set the projector 12-13 feet away and it is giving me a screen size of 95-110 inches. I keep it at 105. I have it set up on a coffee table about 6 inches from the floor and at a distance of 12 feet, the bottom of the image begins at around 18 inches from the floor. The projector runs incredibly quiet. I cannot hear it at all even during silent scenes while sitting two feet behind it. The only thing I don't like about it is that the room does need to be quite dark in order to get the best picture quality, but it is a projector, so this is to be expected. Sure, you can use the bright setting for that, but it will significantly lower lamp life and cause it to run hotter. Once the fan starts running, you WILL hear the projector.

This projector is excellent and very easy to use. The controls are simple and don't require studying a book before you can operate it. The only negatives are the limited amount of keystone adjustment and limited front height adjustment

What's great about it: everything
What's not so great: it wasn't free
WOW We have around a 100 inch screen and sit 10 feet away and the picture is awasome! Up convert dvd looks great and so does regular tv but bluray and HD tv is the only way to go to get your moneys worth. Sports in HD makes you feel like you are on the field or court and blu ray movies will make your eyes water while making your face smile really really big.You will loose interest in going to the movies and want to stay home instead. PS3 and 360 games are breath taking making you feal like you are part of the experiennce.Women do not usually get as excited about electronics as men do but my wife loooves it for watching movies and has no regrets about buying it. Oh yeah, the remote works well and lights up really bright not to mention a quiet running fan. Buy and enjoy. I did end up buying a ceiling mount to get the projector set up the way I wanted.

What's great about it: everthing you need is in this projector.
What's not so great: no short throw add-on lens for smaller rooms.
will i got this for xmas and got a 110 inchs. in a small room. but there is a downside to this projector there is no add-on short throw lens for small rooms like a den or bed room. from 12 ft away to get a 150 inch screen or even bigger size. but it does do full HD and all movies looked the same way as i saw them in the movie theater on day one. from disney to new line cinema. from nes to ps3. this is a must have for gamers. but since there is no add-on for short throw that is where this thing falls short.
but everything else fine. dont buy this unless you have a medium size room or a large room. the 1.2x zoom should be enough for a medium to large size room. but does not do justice for small or den rooms.
unless optoma makes a short throw lens. i am only limited to 72, 82, 92, 110. hope fully they make one soon.

What's not so great: nothing
Unless you want to spend thousands more this is the projector to get. I have had this unit for over 6 months and I still use it every day for a T.V. and playing video games. We have it displayed straight onto the wall with no screen or anything and it's still unbelievable. None of my friends believe how good it is until they see it. The only downside is that it is a projector and how have to be able to control ambient light, have a big room, and a separate sound system. I love this projector!

What's great about it: 1080P Native Resolution, High Lumens, Very Quiet
What's not so great: Contrast Ratio
So it was diffucult to think of any Con's for this product. I have owned this product for 5 months now. Its fantastic. Just recently watch Avatar on it. And all I have to say is, wow. Everytime I sit down to watch a movie on this thing I am impressed. The 1080P really makes a huge difference on this product, over standard 720P on most projectors. The refresh rate at 85hz is comparabale with most top models. And most of all you cant beat the price.

What's great about it: it's got a beautiful high definition picture for satellite. my PS3 and computer image quality are flawless.
What's not so great: keystone issues.
the only negative thing i've discovered so far is that it has a keystone error in the firmware. meaning that when i set the keystone below zero, it will randomly flicker horizontal lines on the image. but it only does this when i watch satellite tv (dish network).
all my other hardware (PS3, computer, dvd) doesn't do this. as long as i set the keystone to zero then it won't do it on the satellite either.
i googled the problem and there is a fix for it from optoma. but that requires me sending it in to them for a firmware upgrade.
it's still an awesome product and i'm not sure if this error is on all the hd20 units or just a select few.

What's not so great: picture sizing
great product for teh price but had to return it because the mount from my previous projector was too far from the screen and made the projected picture from this projector too large for my screen and I did not want to change to screen. The other option was moving the mount closer but not practical. This unit has to be around 12 ft from the screen maximum to get a 100" picture. did not work for my setup...........but great quality.
Just make sure you measure before you buy!!!

What's not so great: Best Buy shipped it in the original box
Only had this bad boy for one day; but very happy with the purchase. The only negative I can say so far is it wasn't shipped inside another box. So I have an $1100 "steal me" box sitting on my porch for three hours before I get home. Since the item didn't require a signature, UPS just left it. Come on Best Buy, think about it!!! Next time ship in another anonymous box, without the Optoma name all over it.

What's great about it: Price - Simple easy to use and it has 1080p
What's not so great: Little basic on features
It is a good unit with not alot of unneeded extras. It would be nice if it had keystone adjustment and a little more display features.
However it does work good and has a great picture. It could be a little limited in a non darkened room.. Ours is in the basement with no windows etc. So it is great.
Also, on the front side the actuall unit emits light that kind of creates a glow in the room. It isn't the light from the projector bulb but comes out the vents in the case. It kind of annoys me.
