What's great about it: Wireless, Comes with AC adapter and USB, Friction-less Scroll Wheel, Super Responsive
I bought my Performance Mouse MX after hearing about it on a podcast. I love the friction-less scroll wheel. It has a button right below the wheel that will turn this feature on and off. So you can move quickly to the bottom of a page, or slowly for reading.
The mouse feels just right (for a right handed user anyway). It is also light, and works from pretty far away from the computer. I've never had a problem with wireless connectivity with any Logitech products. I even have a similar mouse working perfectly plug-n-play with my Linux Desktop at work.
To be fair, I was frustrated with this mouse at first. As I noted, I have a similar mouse at work, that is not rechargeable. The non-rechargeable mouse and keyboard have yet to need replacement batteries, in over a year! This rechargeable was dying every other day. I called support, and was able to get right through to a technician. Many years in IT have taught me to be skeptical of some of the tricks they make you go through, but sometimes they work. I was told that I should try an odd sounding technique, and then give them a call back if it didn't work. So, I followed the instructions.
"Remove the batteries from your mouse. With the batteries removed, press and hold both of the mouse buttons for approximately 15 seconds. This will drain all of the residual power stored in the mouse causing the mouse to be reset. Install new batteries in the mouse and try again. "
It worked!!! I haven't had a single problem with battery life since! I almost never plug it in anymore.
I use this mouse on my gaming rig, and since the fix, I've been completely satisfied with the performance and feel.
I highly recommend this mouse.

What's great about it: Rechargeable battery
for the price charged. This is a premium mouse and the price is appropriate for its capabilities. It's well designed and comfortable in the had. Good for long computer sessions with lots of mousing.

I have two of these now and found it to be the best overall mouse for comfort, features, options, and use. I have tried four other models from three manufacturers and came back to the Performance MX and bought a second one - one for home and one for work. I have not found a surface it does not work on and the mouse feels nice in your hand when using for long periods of time. The only suggestion I have is to go to Logitech.com and download the latest version of the SetPoint software for your applicable OS version. It gives you more control and customization for the mouse and its features.

This mouse is absolutely amazing, you just plug in and go. I have not had one problem, with it. You can install the software (for mac and pc) to controls the 9 functions/ buttons for the mouse! Amazing. You plug-in and go, no set up. I manly use it for gaming and it works great! A Little pricey but i got it on sale.

What's great about it: Comfortable, rechargable, unifying receiver, precise.
This is an excellent, comfortable, wireless mouse. It is rechargeable via USB so there is no charging plate and you can still use it while it is charging. It has worked for 14 days now on a charge and is still going strong. It does have a charge indicator so you can see the charge level. Further it has the new unifying receiver so one small USB device can control up to 6 devices. I have my keyboard and mouse on the single receiver. This mouse is quite comfortable and I have found it to be precise and extrememly functional. For my hand everything is where it should be. It was a breeze to setup and I am replacing all my mice with this one and keyboards with the Logitech K800, both are fantastic.

I bought this mouse to go along with my ASUS G74-BBK9 and it works great! The battery life is long and I love the fact that you can CHARGE WHILE YOU USE IT! Just plug it into a usb port with the provided cable and it'll charge itself up while you play/work. The option to free scroll or manually scroll is nice since the manual helps with gaming, but the free scroll works well to go through long web pages quickly. THE PRICE IS WORTH THE QUALITY! When it comes to electronics, don't shop by price because you get what you pay for. Cheap accessories or PC's will have you coming to Geek Squad or shipping to the manufacturer all of the time. Look for quality to begin with and you'll have a long lasting stable product.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I'm absolutely shocked that people are complaining about the scroll wheel. There's a button right behind the wheel that allows you to select free scroll and manual scroll. If you're going to write a review, please look around and see if there are resolutions to any problems you're having with a product.
Anyway, I got an absolute kick out of the window toggle thumb button. I've seen a similar feature on Linux, but to see it on a Windows XP machine shocked me. Hopefully this mouse lasts me eight years like the MS mouse I received with my Alienware.

I wanted to write this review mainly to highlight the fact that the Performance MX battery life is excellent. I took it new out of the box exactly 2 weeks ago and it is still going strong. The battery indicator has said "low" on the "Setpoint" software that came with the mouse for roughly 1.5 weeks. But I have used this mouse on average 4 hours a day for 2 weeks and have not had to recharge it. I also downloaded the newest version of Setpoint software directly from the Logitech website.
I also have the Logitech unifying receiver about 2 feet away from the mouse. I am sure this helps. The unifying receiver is located in a front USB port.
Overall, this mouse suits my hand size perfectly and the additional buttons on this mouse are truly a must if you can afford it. The cheaper Logitech M705 has a similarly placed thumb button, but the look/feel and size of the M705 are no comparison. I am extremely satisfied with this product. With the M705, I had a gap between my palm and the mouse (very uncomfortable). With the MX, I feel like I actually have a mouse that fits my hand. Buy this mouse. Hopefully you are able to get a good price on it instead of the $100 list price.

I bought this mouse to work with a new laptop. I am also using the MX Revolution.
The fit and weight is the about the same as the MX Revolution (which is what I like about the old mouse) and it lasts much longer on a charge. One of the best features is that you can use the mouse while it is charging.
What was a bit disappointing is the side wheel is not included on this new mouse. I use it often on my old mouse and am trying to get used to using only the buttons.
Overall this is still a good mouse and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a decent wireless mouse.

I really like this mouse. I purchased it to replace my Logitech MX Revolution, which finally died after 4 years of serious use. Like the MX Revolution this mouse fits my hand really well, buttons are easy to use and works well on my Windows 7 64-bit high-end gaming machine. Mouse performs great for work and playing games. It is a little high on the price but if it lasts as long as the previous MX Revolution did, it will be worth it. Battery life lasts about 2 days but you can use it while plugged into the charger. Software installed perfectly and mouse works great without a hitch on all my software and games.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Overall a straight forward mouse with positive tracking and smooth responce suprising accuracy on uneven surface such as cloth when using away from desk area. The scrole feature is very handy. This is a fine unit for large hands. The battery has a long life between charges but for me, not very easy to plug in for re-charging. Not that Iam, but is not for left handed use. Going cordless, this IS the mouse for most users.

I bought this for a Mac Mini and to see if it was a viable long term replacement for my MX Revolutions when their batteries die. So far I REALLY like it. I'm having to recharge the battery 1-2 times per week. Good that I can still use it via USB cable while charging. I also have a 2nd wireless mouse to serve as alternate while it's charging.

As everybody else, we are always looking for style, comfort and efficiency when using our desktops, laptops, Macs or PC's, and after years of jumping from one mouse to the other in both words (PC's and Mac's) I have found that there is no better Mouse than the Logitech Performance Mouse MX ... it simply fits and embrace your hand and offers diversity of options for different fingers and positions, not to forget that regardless of all features and positions, its best feature is that is the best Mouse I have ever have. First I try it in the office on my PC and it was so good, that immediately after I bought another for my home Mac and both are just performing the best. From the first mouse created by XEROX back in the 80', this mouse is the top of that creation, honestly believing that whatever surpass this mouse will not be a mouse, it will be something different, maybe "minded driven"...
The style is attractive, the weight is the perfect, the slide is smooth, your hand will fit into it like if the mouse was crafted around it, the battery last enough, the options are practical and the functions are very helpful, I simply cannot think of any improvement, although there must be one because there is always room for it, but I cannot think of any.

Had great luck with Logitech over the years, so I didn't struggle too long to pay $70 for a mouse. I have the same complaints as many here. The rechargeable battery is a good idea, but only lasts a day or so. I would rather add a new alkaline battery every 6 months, like previous designs. The scroll wheel is overly sensitive and turns too freely. I have lots of problems with the left and right mouse button. I would like to it respond to a light click, but find myself having to click again and with much more force than I should have to. Overall, I think I will replace it with another mouse soon, as I find it annoying and poorly designed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have carpal tunnel & broke my hand badly once. Using most mice is painful after a while. I got this one because it's wireless and has an ergonomic design. It fits the shape of your hand perfectly. There is no stress on my wrists. I use a regular mouse pad and just lay my arm against the table. You can move it easily with you if you have a laptop.
I had a PC laptop previously (which is what I bought the mouse for) and it worked flawlessly there. I upgraded to a MacBook Pro and the mouse works perfect with it too!
I also have a Logitech solar wireless keyboard. When you plug both USB wireless receivers in the first time, both Windows & Mac will ask if you want to use one receiver. So, I only need one receiver for both my mouse and keyboard!
This is the only mouse I will ever use again!
