What's great about it: Explain and offer solutions to my computer problems
What's not so great: I had to buy new Window 7 package since it was counterfeit and Offrice Depot installed it incorrectly and didn't tell me
I really like your Geek squad service staff since explain clearly what was needed and told me the various costs might be involved in fixing the problem with my laptop. I won't buy anymore software through unknown vendors which might be counterfeit and costly.

What's great about it: good standard OS
What's not so great: Price
Generally I think Microsoft products are overpriced, considering the millions of them that they sell. But they are the defacto standard for the moment. I had to have a copy for my son's new computer build, he forgot to purchase one with his hardware. Installed easily and had no problems with it.

What's great about it: windows?
What's not so great: incompatible with application for which it was purchased.
It may work for general windows, I installed Windows 7 on Parallel with little problem. However, the reason I got the two packages ($300) was to run big fish games. That did not work. Removed from the Macbook Pro (Lion) and went native.

Product is on the high end for an operating system. It was easy to install only when you sitting there watching it install. Windows is an average system to use.

What's not so great: price
Previously running XP
Win 7 offers significant upgrades
$199 = expensive, but no other options in market
Had to upgrade since I was going to use my XP license for a secondary (older) computer
comes with discs for both 32bit and 64bit versions

What's great about it: I can run programs on windows that can't run on mac.
What's not so great: Some things are quirky. Clock doesn't keep the right time.
Bought to run on my mac so I could continue to use Quicken Finance since apple still has not come up with a similar product. I segmented my hard drive. 1/2 runs apple, 1/2 runs windows. So far so good.

What's great about it: Fast and Efficient
What's not so great: Would be better if it was Ultimate
After having to deal with Vista as the OS that came loaded with my last 2 laptops it is a breath of fresh air to be dealing with a OS that runs so much cleaner, faster, and less likely to BSOD.

What's great about it: Not much
What's not so great: Price. Endless Updates after installation.
Usual Microsoft product. Overpriced. Takes forever to install and update. Why not have a link that you can use with your license where the latest version is downloaded all in one shot? Worked OK. Overall - nothing special - what you expect from a monopoly.

What's great about it: easy to use, fast, more productive and intuitive.
What's not so great: Getting fleeced.
Microsoft really did a great job with Windows 7 but there's just one problem: the price. I'd much rather spend those $100 of overpricing to get top-of-the-line video cards and processors. Comparatively, Apple's update from Snow Leopard to Lion costs $40 and Linux...well that's open-source so it doesn't count, but still.

What's great about it: Compatibility with Mac IOS.
What's not so great: Doesn't include basic Excell or Word.
I have a new MacBook pro. I needed a copy of Windows 7 to run a CAD program. I installed Bootcamp (standard on Mac) and installed Windows 7 by following the Bootcamp set up (easy, just follow the instructions). I installed the CAD program and things are working out well. With the use of Dropbox it's easy to work on a file in Mac IOS then open the file up when running Windows 7. The product would be perfect if it included a copy of Ecell and Word...they will need to be purchased separately. I now have the best of both world, the Mac I love and the ability to use Windows 7 for work when I need it. Two different operating systems all in one computer. Isn't this the way computing is supposed to be?
