What's great about it: Blue lights.
What's not so great: Everything else...
I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit), freshly installed.
- Hooked up the mouse, installed the drivers. Requires restart...
- Ran firmware updater. Had to unplug/re-plug-in mouse. Also...had to "restart drivers", according to the message the firmware updater gave me.
- Guessed "restart drivers" meant restart computer... Upon restart, while installing drivers for the newly discovered USB device...windows blue screened. Windows 7. On a mouse driver install. So...another restart.
- So...now I figured "restart drivers" must've meant reINSTALL drivers...well, you can only uninstall....which requires a restart.
- Re-installed, requires restart.
- Changed the polling rate...which...according to the manual, won't work without a restart.
- After all this, the mouse is less accurate than my old logitech - it's shaky and jumpy. I even hooked up a couple other old mice - and the Death Adder is definitely the worst.

What's great about it: Pinpoint accurate
What's not so great: Glitchy, Felt Odd
I have heard great things about Razer products, so I decided to get the DeathAdder instead of the Logitech g9x. Some things about this mouse are phenomenal, but overall it was not for me.
Good- Accuracy was great, Razer software made it easy to customize, cord was woven.
Bad- Did not fit my hand at all, glitchy.
After owning the mouse 2 days, the lights on the mouse would flicker every couple seconds, also causing the pointed to pause briefly. I googled this issue and found it to be somewhat common for Windows 7. For anyone using this for FPS, this is a big issue.
I returned the DeathAdder and went with my original choice, the Logitech g9x. So far, so good!

What's great about it: Not a lot 40 days later
What's not so great: The product
Bought this to go with a new high end gaming rig I just built. After exactly 40 days the scroll click does not work! The design and software are awesome and while it works it works well but 40 days and dead I think the house fly has a longer life span! Take the time and google the mouse and add not working on the search. You will find many people have the same problem. Had I known I would have bought the Logitech 500 that's what I have to go and buy now!! Thanks Razer!

What's great about it: Great Price for a solid product
What's not so great: A gaming mousepad is necessary to reach its full potential (extra cost)
So I have had this mouse for about a year now. I am an avid gamer (mostly Starcraft 2). Unlike other users, I have not had any issues with installing the mouse. I will say that I play on an iMac. (Insert Internet gamer rage here). I guess ill go down for each of the four topics (price, Design, Ease of Use, and Durability).
Value for Price: You cannot go wrong for the price. It would be difficult to find anything better for the price. Maybe one of the steelseries mice might be comparable, but I still think the DeathAdder is a solid mouse for the price.
Design: Perhaps one of the only issues of this mouse is its narrowness. Personally, I don't have huge Hulk Hogan hands, so this mouse is perfectly fine for me. I would say my hands are an average size. So if you have normal hands and aren't a freak of nature, then the narrowness will not be an issue. Another negative could be the glossy plastic sides that easily show fingerprints. I think Razer made the sides out of that glossy materiel because it is easier to grip. The top of the mouse is really smooth and would be difficult to grip if that same material was on the sides where you grip the mouse. So i prefer the more grippy plastic sides that they used, even if fingerprints show.
Ease of Use: To get the mouse up and running is no problem. Install the drivers and use it. The DeathAdder allows the user to really specify their sensitivity. You can make the cursor movement really fast or painfully slow. It takes a while to get exactly what you want for each game. The good thing is that there are multiple profiles that can easily be switched with the click of the mouse. Oh, and you can hotkey each mouse button, including the scroll wheel. That feature comes in very handy for certain games.
Durability: The DeathAdder seems to be extremely resilient. I tend to get too excited and emotionally involved in my games and tend to let out my anger on my mouse. I mean come on, its already in your hand. The point im trying to make is that there are a few dings on my mouse and it still works flawlessly. Oh, and if the feet (plastic pieces under the mouse that lets is slide easier) wear out, you can replace them for a few bucks. so no need to replace your mouse after a few years of use.
Overall this is a very solid mouse with great features and at a cheap price. I would recommend getting a gaming mousepad or some type of quality mousepad. It makes this product work that much better. Without one, you wil have to put the DPI at a much lower level because the DeathAdder is really sensitive at higher DPI levels. I have a Razer Vespula but im sure any good mousepad will work ( the bulky wrist pad is a separate piece and does not need to be used..

What's great about it: comfort
What's not so great: mouse software conflict with windows 7
recently bought 5 gaming mouses.....this mouse is very comfortable....the mouse software conflicts with windows 7.....with and without the drivers the cursor intermittenly freezes every 4 seconds....i bought 1 deathadder from bestbuy A.....returned it cause i thought is was defective.....bought 2nd deathadder from bestbuy B....the same problem occured....after some research online, there are some reported issues with the mouse software on windows 7. Other than that the mouse is awesome.....nice feel....buttons are good..... just thought i would share my experience with you :D

What's great about it: Feels great, Precise with 3500 DPI, Affordable, Aesthetically pleasing with the blue lights
What's not so great: Glossy sides are fingerprint magnets and smudge easily.
Great precise mouse at 3500 DPI. I'm loving the comfortable feel of it naturally molding to the palm of my hand. It's 5 customazible presets are a great added feature along with the extra two programmable mouse buttons-which is a perfect number (not too many buttons, just right). Everything about the performance and the visuals of this mouse is just great!
The only thing I have to complain about is the glossy sides. They are complete fingerprint magnets and smudge easily. Although the semi-rubber feel is nice in my palm, it can get too warm pretty quickly due to the nature of my sweaty hands (of course, this wont be a problem for most people.)
And the nit picky detail that bugs me: The lighting on the Razer logo has a pulsing/breathing effect. I really would prefer the option for it to stay solidly lit, but that's just me.

What's great about it: Tracking, Top finish
What's not so great: Expensive, side buttons feel cheap, scroll wheel failed
I've had this mouse about ten months and everything was great. Last night while playing some old CS the wheel stopped working. It feels like it came off the supports inside. Best Buy told me to call Razor so I did and no help there either! I'm responsible for purchasing, installed and maintaining hundreds of thousands of dollars of IT equipment every year and have never been talked to in such a childish manor before. I think I’m finished with both reseller and manufacture at this point. A $60 mouse that only last ten months?
Other than the failure the tracking of the mouse was good and the finish on the top was nice. If either Best Buy of Razer was willing to make good on this I would be happy with this product.

What's great about it: Clicks easily and negative acceleration gone with firmware
What's not so great: Mine broke under a year (I was definitely a bit rough with it)
Pros:
- The jitter and negative acceleration of the sensors have been completely removed by new firmware. Razer's support site has a firmware updater. If you're still experiencing negative acceleration, use CPL Mouse Fix to make sure your registry values are correct.
- Although the glossy sides might collect dust and be a finger-print magnet, it helps you grip the mouse much better.
- All the buttons are pretty much hair-line triggers, which I personally like. They click with low amounts of force, but it could be a con for some people.
- The sensor does have a high lift-off distance, but you can easily fix it with a piece of translucent scotch tape covering the sensor.
Cons (Most are extremely subjective and conditional):
- My first one broke in about 10 months, but I was extremely rough with it (Threw it in my bag for a few LANs (Literally threw it) and tried to open the mouse without voiding the warranty a few times).
- The overall feel of the mouse takes a while to get used to, but it's amazing once you get used to it.
Comment:
- I tried a Logitech G500 after my first one broke and literally didn't even install the drivers before I put it back in the box and went back to Best Buy the next day for a refund. The feel of the Death Adder was AMAZING compared to the G500 (Impossible to grip without hurting your finger tips, weight was too heavy even without the weights and the cartridge itself in it, etc.).

What's great about it: The design. Looks really cool sitting on my desk.
What's not so great: The functionality. It should do a whole lot more for the price.
This is a solid gaming mouse that is missing a couple of key features for the price. The buttons are large and durable and the appearance is cool. The glowing Death Adder in the middle of the mouse surface is a nice touch.
However there are features that are missing that you would find on comparably priced Microsoft or Logitech mouse. You can't adjust DPI on the fly. There are no +/- buttons for that. You have to exit your game and adjust DPI through the Death Adder software. Also you cannot add a game specific button assignment. This was a big one for me. Which means the FORWARD button on the side of the mouse has to be permanently assigned a keyboard button that is needed during PC gaming. So you have a choice of either having the FORWARD button working in your internet browser or having that button work in your game.
My expectations were a little high for Death Adder given that whole "for gamers by gamers" thing. If you don't mind not adjusting DPI on the fly and not being able to assign game specific keyboard buttons then this is a good gaming mouse for you.

What's great about it: Everything
My son plays a lot of online games and after his last mouse stopped working, and after a short flirtation with a trackball, he decided to ask for this mouse as his birthday gift. It has performed well over the last 3 months, including multiple trips back and forth to college (and of course, just surviving in a dorm.) He is very happy and has recommended the device to his friends.

What's great about it: Customization and price for what you're getting
What's not so great: No problems thus far
For a $60 price tag you probably couldn't ask for much more, if anything. The braided wire is a nice touch as is seems to prevent anything from tangling and adds more durability to it as a whole. The mouse also has individual lighting functions for the razer logo and scroll wheel, both able to be turned off if desired, also includes 5 profiles for different mouse settings so that you can change preferences in just a single click. Great mouse thus far, offers a wide variety of play styles as there are several DPI and polling rate options, also has two programmable keys on the inner side of the mouse which can be used for macro.

What's not so great: Durability
The mouse was great while it lasted, but the main button started getting stuck or shorting out and it double/triple clicks constantly. I loved the ergonomics of it, great for spreadsheets and data work as well as hours of gaming. But for the price, very disappointed. Any generic mouse will last longer than that.

What's great about it: price, great feel
What's not so great: nothing just yet
originally i had a original Steelseries Warcraft MMO mouse and overall i was very happy with it. i have bigger hands and the steelseries mouse was kind of a brick :) the thing that would keep me from buying another steelseries MMO mouse would be the finish on it was horrible. it was peeling and turning colors and just looked dirty which made me curious to possibly getting a new mouse. one day the transformers version of the deathadder mouse was on display so i gave it a whirl. soon as i rested my hand in it i knew, i had to get this mouse. it was a good size and really comfortable with my grip. only had it for about a month so far so i can't say much about value just yet but so far its been great. very responsive, feels durable, and looks sexy as well. i use it primarily to play starcraft 2 and love it. thumbs up from me.

quite simply, this is the mouse you get if you want to play FPS games, end of story. If you really want to spend more money you can get a different mouse, but for 60 bucks this is absolutely the mouse to get. It has very high build quality and top notch ergonomics.

What's not so great: DIES IN LESS THEN ONE YEAR
I thought this would be a great mouse for game playing.
It did not last very long, only 7 months, and this was
not a cheap mouse. For 59.99 I though it would last at least
a couple of years. It just complete DIED one day and would
not work at all. I was very surprised, and disapointed for sure.

What's not so great: software is a bit tricky to set-up
This mouse is the only one with a decent Mac driver. the razer naga and imperator have horrible mac driver software that shouldn't be allowed to be called mac compatible. The deathadder mac driver is the only one that has a similar driver as the windows software. this is the only one from razer that I recommend for the mac. they are kind of a windows only company.
