What's great about it: good price, easy to set up
What's not so great: unreadable heart rate, unclear symbols
I bought this watch hoping to measure my heart rate during my workouts at the gym. The watch was easy to set up, but the symbols for each category was very confusing. I never knew which one meant calories, steps or anything else.
Also, it was great measuring my heart rate quickly. Once I started to really sweat in my workout, it would not read my heart rate. I was really disappointed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I agree with Linda that this watch is accurate as far as heart rate. I've compared it with both my treadmill and my stationary bike, and it's spot on.
My only complaint is the same too...the instruction manual is rather difficult (and small print) to read and understand all the functions. I still haven't figured out most of the functions of this watch, but that's due to my own fault of not taking the time to learn them well enough to use them.
I have found that sometimes, when I'm very sweaty, it will try to get a heartrate reading on it's own. Other than that, it has worked beautifully.
I am especially glad it is accurate, since I wouldn't want to wear a chest strap...ick! This is much more convenient.
Oh, and one more thing: it's sometimes hard to push in the button for the back light, which is nice at nighttime. However, I'm not especially impressed with the buttons...too small, and too hard to push in sometimes. Also, the display isn't the easiest to read-I wish there was more contrast (numbers darker against the light), although that could be a setting I've overlooked. Then again, my eyes have gone downhill lately as I've aged, so that could be the problem...heehee!
I would recommend this watch to anyone who wants something without having to wear other devices, such as a chest strap. Great deal for the money!
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Good price for multiple functions
What's not so great: instructions not too clear
This product allows me to train to my heart rate for cardio-workout indoors and jogging outdoors. The watch helps me train for long distance racing as well. I like the fact that there is no need for a chest strap. The heart rate monitor is accurate as I have compared it with the treadmill monitor. Other functions, such as pedometer and calories burned, all combine to make this a very useful instrument. My only complaint is that the instructions are somewhat difficult to follow for learning to access the functions.
I would recommend this to a friend!
