What's great about it: Best Buy return policy and store service
What's not so great: bad disk, poor user support by Apple
Every time I tried to install this OS, the computer shut down at the same point in the process. At the end of multiple calls to Apple support, by following their advice, I had attempted and failed to re-install the previous OS (Tiger) from disk (based on erroneous advice that my laptop hardware was incompatible with Snow Leopard), as a result, had no operating system on my Mac, I also unnecessarily purchased and installed an extra GB of RAM (based on erroneous information provided by a different support rep at Apple), and wasted an entire Sunday afternoon and evening. As a last ditch effort, I decided to exchange the software I bought from Best Buy.com at my local store for a new disk. That did the trick; the OS installation was a breeze and all my pre-existing data was intact. Why didn't anyone at Apple think of that? The one after-effect was that I had to delete and re-install my printer settings, replacing the previous driver with the one that came with Leopard.
I would recommend this to a friend!
