What's great about it: Works Great! Easy installation! Cd quality sound.
What's not so great: Would like rewind feature to allow more than 30 mins. Would be great if it had a record feature!
The Sky Dock does exactly what it says it does. Easy set up and great sound and performance. App gives you a lot of the features offered on the lynx radio at a discount. Great touch screen interface!

Easy way for satellite radio

I think this was a great way for me to get satellite radio without having to actually by a radio. Easy to connect, easy to start, fairly easy to use. The only issue is that it has to be plugged into the cigarette lighter and can't use a cord to allow it be positioned somewhere else.

What's great about it: Very good iphone accessory
Sirius XM works great. Also allows you to play ipod or any other app through the car speakers even without XM service.

Only had 1 problem w/ radio not powering up. My biggest problem was w/ Best Buy took it back to swap in at store and they didn't have another 1 told me I had to wait til 5 days later when next truck comes in.after talking w/ manager and 3 other employees they said they think 1 will be on truck that night and they would call me 1st thing that morning. Never received that call so when I went by that afternoon luckily it did show just never called me or emailed me.

What's not so great: too much hassle
I purchased this for my honda civic ... the location of the power outlet in the car did not allow for comfortable access to turn on, off adjust channels. Even if it had been better located, there is too much involved in using it... I just want to turn it on and go! I exchanged min with a different model that could be hard wired and I am happy with that.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Driving with a SkyDock in the car is a whole new experience! XM Radio to start is a great alternative to the same 25 songs played on terrestrial radio. With the SkyDock you'll not only have that added feature on your iPhone, but you'll be able to use the built in FM transmitter to listen to iPod or Pandora music as well. Setup is easy, and if you're inclined, installation of the antenna is not a problem.

What's great about it: Ease of use. Portability.
What's not so great: Power plug is too big for my VW power outlets
I love this product, but it has resulted in damage to both power outlets in my VW Passat. I depend on this radio for my daily commute to and from work. Makes the ride a joy. Easy to change out to another vehicle when I have a rental or use my wife's car. Plug apparently is too snug for the power outlet and has left me with a repair bill of over $200.

What's great about it: Installation, easy to move between vehicles, touch screen controls, multi-function to use XM/iPod/Pandora/etc
What's not so great: Channel icons, menu text, buttons are tiny and hard to read
I bought this to replace my 5+ year old MyFi. First impression is everything, and my first impression was very mixed. After tooling around with it a bit here are my overall impressions.
PROS:
-Very easy to install
-The SkyDock app is very intuitive and easy to use
-Excellent price compared to other full-color XM receivers
-FM Transmitter works with iPod, audio quality is loud and crisp; MUCH better than other FM transmitters I've used with my phone
-"Tagging" feature - if you like a song, you can pull it up in iTunes by touching a button
-As an app, the developers should be able to provide updates to resolve some minor software complaints (see below)
-Very easy to install
-The SkyDock app is very intuitive and easy to use
-Excellent price compared to other full-color XM receivers
-FM Transmitter works with iPod, audio quality is loud and crisp; MUCH better than other FM transmitters I've used with my phone
-"Tagging" feature - if you like a song, you can pull it up in iTunes by touching a button
-As an app, the developers should be able to provide updates to resolve some minor software complaints (see below)
CONS
-If the phone or plug is not very snug, it loses connection very easily
-Even if it's snug, physically moving the iPhone (for example rotating the phone or trying to get to dash controls behind the phone) can still cause it to become disconnected, so the radio shuts off for about 30 seconds while it reconnects
-The buttons/text are so small (channel icons are really hard to read); challenging to use while driving
-If the phone or plug is not very snug, it loses connection very easily
-Even if it's snug, physically moving the iPhone (for example rotating the phone or trying to get to dash controls behind the phone) can still cause it to become disconnected, so the radio shuts off for about 30 seconds while it reconnects

Because it's fixed to the dash, if you receive a text message it's difficult to reply unless you disconnect the phone altogether. In the interests of driver safety, that's probably not a bad thing.

What's great about it: Allows both iPod and XM playback
What's not so great: If you don't have an AUX port, the professional FM tuner is the best option
This product allows both satellite radio and iPod music to be played through the radio with as few adaptors as possible. It is installed with the FM tuner and it lets both satellite radio and iPod music to be played in the car without switching through different dead radio stations. This was a significant improvement over playing the iPod through the over-the-air FM adaptors. Standard installation was easy and, if you don't mind switching the radio stations, the FM Direct playback worked well. I had Best Buy install the FM tuner, and after some initial confusion, because they hadn't installed this unit before, they did a good job with it.

I bought this from Best Buy and tried to make it work in my Hummer H3. After looking into the instuction manual, I notice you need to purchase more parts for additional price of $95.00. It not worth it unless you have newer model auto.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

sooo easy. just the antania needs to be routed.... after that its just a simple phone call and a quick xm payment, and i was jamming to the greatest music of all time

What's not so great: Can't find a thing wrong with it!
I've been looking for a good FM Transmitter to use in my 2003 Jeep Wrangler with my iPhone. Honestly I could careless about XM Radio, this dock is amazing and I’m blown away by the ease of use. I walked out of Best Buy opened the box plug it in found a un-used radio station and listened to my ipod on the way home it was just that simple to set up! I couldn't be happier and my stock jeep radio never sounded so good!
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: It works, Can be moved from car to car
What's not so great: Have not found anything
I have looking for ways to hook my I phone 4G to my car radio for some time because I like to listen to Slaker Radio & Pandora. I found cables that had to be installed, other FM transmitters that didn’t work, and even thought about replacing my factory radio, (that would be a major expense and install). I bought the Skydock thinking that if it didn’t work or if I were forced to buy a subscription I would take it back. I went out to the parking lot open the box and within 15 min I had the Skydock up and running, and found out that I had no need for a subscription or the supplied antenna. I live near Houston TX and have no trouble with static or ghost reception.

A Minimalistic Approach for XM Radio

What's great about it: I don't have to carry another device when I exit my vehicle
The Sky Dock is quite amazing in my opinion. It's easy to install and small enough to conceal when you're out of the vehicle. My iPod Touch (1st generation) recharges through the base while in use, and thanks to a recent software update from the manufacturer, we now have bi-directional controls! In other words, you can now go back and forth between GPS (iPhone users), email or any other application while continuing to listen to your XM radio in the background. Though this feature should make most users of the Sky Dock a lot happier, I'm most thankful that I don't have to carry yet another device with me when I leave my vehicle.
My only recommendation is to pick up the FMDA25 Sirius "FM Transmitter" kit with the Sky Dock unit; Best Buy sells this kit. The Sky Dock does permit wireless FM station transmission, but most of the the audio that I heard was full of static while doing so. The Sirius FMDA25 kit plugs into the Sky Dock, then simply connects in series with the FM antenna plug to the back of your stereo in your vehicle. Sync the iPhone/iPod with a non-used FM station while in use with your Sky Dock and the audio should be crystal clear! All in all, I couldn't be happier with the Sky Dock and its features.

What's great about it: Ease of Navigation, Easy Install

As a long time XM user, it was time to upgrade my old SkyFi. The SkyDock looked cool and I take my iPod Touch with me everywhere anyway. What I found was the navigation was a lot easier between or browsing stations. I also like the reminders for my favorite baseball team (Go Twins!). Tagging of songs will be great, because I can never remember the artists when I'm at my PC. I kept my old SkyFi active so I could continue to use the XM Boombox with it. It would be GREAT if they made a boombox to go with the touch and the XM App, but I don't think it can happen because the radio ID is with the SkyDock unit and not the touch. All in all, a good purchase so far......

What's great about it: Good Concept
What's not so great: Could not get static free transmission
We bought this Skydock for our 2006 Toyota Sequoia as it seemed like a great idea to be able to get XM Radio or play our ipod with the same piece of equipment. We had Best Buy install the unit with a hard wired FM transmitter which was supposed to kill the station that we used on the radio and transmit from the ipod or XM through the car radio on this station without the possibility of any static. It did not work. In some areas that we drove where the normal FM radio signals were poor, we had no problems and the sound was great. Once we got into any area where we received normal FM signals, however, we got static and interference on the supposedly "dead" station. We were not even near any large cities when this occurred.
We took our car back to Best Buy and they agreed that the hard-wired FM transmitter they installed should have allowed interference-free transmission from the Skydock unit to our radio. They tried changing the station we used on the radio to broadcast from the Skydock and that did nothing to help. They changed the FM transmitter and that also did nothing to solve the problem. The technician was stumped, so I had the unit uninstalled and will let the Toyota dealer install one instead. For whatever reason, the FM transmitter that Best Buy uses would not block out signals from the station we chose to transmit to on our Sequoia, and the Best Buy folks had no idea why. They were nice about trying to solve the problem and I had no issues returning everything and getting credit for the install, but I would have preferred if they could actually get the Skydock to transmit without static as they said it would.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: VERY easy to install and transfer to other cars
What's not so great: Only complaint is that the Ipod App only has 12 presets and I am used to 30 on other units
My BMW has a cigarette lighter adapter in the glovebox so I plug the skydock in there and run a 6' Dock Extender Cable behind the dashboard that terminates near my shifter. It makes for a stealth installation. I hightly recommend this method if your car has a cigarette lighter adapter hidden somewhere.
Also, I already had an aux input plug so I don't have to use the FM Modulator.
The application itself works great and love that you can tag a song then given the option of the app letting you know everytime that song plays or everytime a song by that artist plays on any of the XM stations.
I would recommend this to a friend!
