What's great about it: The wide range of hits over his career, both parodies and original material
What's not so great: That it is only 2 discs!
Come'on, it Weird Al! His lyrics are so smart and funny and dead-on. My favorite is "Smells like Nirvana". He hit on the most annoying thing about that song and band. "What the hell is he saying?" Old classics like "Yoda" and "Another One Rides the Bus" just take me back to listening to Dr. Demento on Sunday nights back in high school, cracking up while trying to do homework. A great sampling of his parodies and original songs.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I’ve been a fan of Al's since I heard "Another One Rides the Bus"
A good, cheaper greatest hits set.
The boxed "Permanent Record" is better even though his newer songs will not be on it.

My favorites "Yoda", "The Saga Begins" & "Jurassic Park" are here. Yes, an over 30 year "Star Wars" fan & collector here.
This set is missing some songs I would have liked to see on it. "Addicted to Spuds", "Money For Nothing" a personal favorite, my favorite part of his 1989 film "UHF" "Gandhi II".
It is a good CD set with newer songs as said above, but get “Permanent Record” the four disc set. It is better with more older material.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: He is a great story teller.
Wierd Al is very talented. I like most of the songs on this album. A lot of the songs were new to me.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Lots of Weird Al's all-time best.
What's not so great: Contageous "ear worms"!!!
Anyone who enjoys parody music will enjoy this collection of Weird Al's greatest hits. I bought this for my 9-year old son for Christmas and he loves it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: A great way to start your Al collection
What's not so great: Long time fans already have these songs, but its still a NEW album for completeists
Contrary to what some may think, Al’s music is not restricted to parodies, and you are missing out on his genius if you write him off as such. If you were a fan, but have lost touch with Al’s career since the 90’s, this AL-bum will help you get reacquainted with his talents as a musician, composer and performer. (Yes, Al still goes on tour!) Or if you are like me, this is the perfect gift for the easily influenced children in your life. My niece and nephews cut their teeth on the relatively recently released DVD set of the “Weird Al Show.” They watch them over and over. They will be getting “The Essential “Weird Al” Yankovic for Christmas, and even though I already have all of these songs I’ll be adding it to my collection just because.
I would recommend this to a friend!
