Make use of the motion-sensing capabilities of your Wii Remote to employ fun tools, including seesaws and the exciting new propeller suit, which shoots you high into the sky. Ride atop various Yoshi characters, and use their tongues to your advantage, whether swallowing enemies or fellow players.

For any of us who grew up on the classic Nintendo Entertainment System, this game will bring back some memories. Rather then attempting another 3D adventure-style game (Mario 64, Sunshine, and Galaxy) Nintendo has opted for the tried and true sidescroller.
The game itself plays very much like Super Mario Brothers 3, a top-down map screen allows players to navigate the game's many worlds, while the stages themselves are 3D renditions of our favorite plumber (his brother, and two color coded mushroom people whose names are eaisly forgotten) running about a 2D platform. Some new powerups have been added (like the unimaginative but useful ice flower), and some new moves are available (such as spinning jumps, or other aeral manuevers), but at its core, its classic Mario 3.
By far the most innovative feature, is the simotanious 4-player mode, which can be a blessing or a curse. As basic physics dictate, two objects cannot occupy the same space, and this will make the multiplayer hair-pullingly agnonizing, or comedically hilarous, depending on the mood of the players. The characters will bump into each other, accidentally knocking them off a platform, or grabbing a powerup intended for another person. The level also progresses at the pace of the fastest player, thus, skilled or impatent players can be the bane of the party. Taking a hint from Mario 2 (or Doki Doki Panic :P ) you can now grab and carry objects (or other players) through the level. It allows the players to work cooperatively or competatively as the whim strikes them.
I rated the game as 3 stars for challenge because it is exceedingly generous with lives and continues. For casual gamers or people playing for the slapstic skullduggery, this isnt that big an issue, but if you play solo, are looking for a really challenging game, you will probably be dissapointed that you have 20 some-odd lives around world 3. For really hard-core platform gamers, your greatest challenge will be not getting killed by your buddies.
On the whole, its a fun game. While it can be played entirely solo (it actually makes boss fights much easier), the real entertainment value skyrockets with a crowd. I popped it in during my New Years party, and it was a hit.

bought this because I always enjoyed Mario and thought it would be fun for the kids also. Right on both counts, still enjoy playing Mario Bros. and my 6yr old son loves the game.

Have a six and eight year old that can play this game forever, but turn it off after 1 hour a day... Hear them laughing all of the time... Great game to get kids through the winter blues...

What's great about it: Simple, Challenging, Fun, Retro, Co-Op
What's not so great: No online functionality. What can you do?
I thoroughly enjoyed this game. I am more of "core gamer" and my wife is more of a "casual gamer". This was a fun game to play together. The Co-op really makes this game great. I definitely like the fact that players can sit out at certain parts. I found the game to be a fun throwback to the old school games of my childhood while still adding some new and interesting features. Hey, it's Mario. Nintendo did a great job of doing what they do best. I also appreciated the more challenging aspects of this game. We went through and collected all of the star coins and completed all of the bonus levels.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: 4 players, similar to the classic Mario Bros. games
My entire family loves this game, from my 6 year old to my high school kiddos, and even mom! It is super exciting that 4 of us can play together on a Super Mario Bros. game that is so much like the original Nintendo Super Mario Bros. games. It can be a little challenging, but is alot of fun.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This game by Wii is great. Its just like the old one but with better and newer surprises! Its a great flash back but a new game to have loads of fun with. Good for a large range of ages too!

This game has a lot of the feel of the old school Mario games, which was what I hoping for. I don't like the 3-d ones as much, like the Nintendo 64 Mario. This has great graphics and many cool things.

What's great about it: Fast service and in stock
I ordered just before Christmas knowing I wouldn't receive it till the next week. It arrived two days earlier than specified and my daughter and her friends love it. Really fast service.

Although I would consider Super Mario 2 and 3 the BEST Mario games ever, this game is definitely a credit to the franchise.
The game control takes a little getting used to. Seems to be a little fidgety with movements, almost like you have to over compensate the characters movements.
The game is fun to play, though some of the levels are frustratingly difficult. The game makes up for this by giving unlimited continues, lives and allowing the level to be beaten by the AI if you lose a level too many times.
Overall, a very good game with pretty good graphics and good fun.
I would recommend this to a friend!
