What's great about it: Graphically, it is out of the ball park for the price point
What's not so great: Controls are difficult to use
I love the monitor, and early on, I am really only using half of what it is capable of. Overall, it is a great monitor, best for using for pictures, videos and graphics.. excellent for bluray since it is 1080i.
Sadly, the controls are difficult to use to the point of frustration. It sure would benefit from a software utility to get access to those controls remotely. There are no drivers even to flash the specs to the properties. However, that said, I would still recommend this monitor

What's not so great: Sound could be better.
Highly recommend for gaming but only if you use a headset while playing. The sound is descent but if you're a hardcore gamer you'll need a headset. Tha HDMI picture quality is outstanding. Best monitor I've used.

What's great about it: Big, bright, good price

This monitor replaced a 20" Acer LCD which died after about 11 months of use. The main reason I purchased the Asus was the 3 year warranty, which really gives me peace of mind. I mean, who can't like 3 years with mail in costs covered?? Aside from that, the display is awesome. I am not a gamer or hard core geek, I'm 60 years old, I just read e-mail, shop, play some lame games and chat/Skype mostly, but the extra space over a 20" is really something. It is VERY comfortable viewing two windows at once. Also, I had one (count 'em, one) stuck pixel that was black when it was supposed to be white and vise versa when I first used this. It was not a big deal and I was prepared to live with it, but, Voila! it 'fixed' itself. Nice! Very happy here.

The 2ms response time and excellent brightness make this a perfect monitor for video games. I use the very weak sounding speaker as a center channel and it does OK. But for the money that is irellivant.

What's not so great: buttons take a little while to get use to
i got this for gaming because i wanted to switch from SD to HD and my friend recommended this and I'm so glad i decided to buy it. Picture quality is awesome and it was really easy to set up. If anyone is looking at buying a 2ms monitor I high recommend this to everyone.

What's great about it: Amazing display, fast repsonse time.
What's not so great: takes a while to get the settings correct for you, and the buttons aren't too easy to navigate.
The widescreen design on this TV was a lot larger than I expected, I usually play and a 19" TV and this was a huge improvement. The response time from when you move your joystick to when the screen actually displays it is amazingly fast. I recommend using VGA cables and choosing the 1980 by 1080 screen resolution.

Monitor does what it was advertised to do. My only 'beef' is with the 'clumsy' sequential menu button pushing to make monitor adjustments.
The unit is paired with a EVGA-FX9500 video card.
Linux and Windows run fine at the highest resolution. I adjusted the 'brightness' and 'contrast' setting down to prevent eye squinting.
Assembly was simple. I did not hook up the speakers. My existing 5.1 sound system performs well for my use.

What's not so great: um...a bit hard to setup, navigate the menu and find the right picture but i posted good settings for console gamers
I'm a xbox 360 gamer, i play a lot of gamebattles and online. This monitor is GREAT for gaming. Going from a 8ms response time, 720p, 20 inch, input lag a lot slower then 3ms to a ASUS monitor with 2ms response time, 3ms input lag, 1080p, 23 inch i noticed the difference in smoothness, color accuracy and less blurring with colors, and sharpness right away! When sniping you can notice that your scope moves ALOT more smoother across the screen, picture is a lot more sharper and colors are more accurate and pop out more going from 700:1 dynamic contrast ratio to 1,000:1 static contrast ratio deep reds don't blur and blacks are more black! If you get this monitor it will not prove itself until you find the right picture settings! I would recommend going 100 contrast ratio, 80-90 saturation, 75-88 sharpness, no higher then 70-85 brightness (may need higher brightness if you have Gunnar Optiks), MAKE SURE ASCR IS ON. set your games to where the top box cannot be read (applies to CoD, not sure about other games.) If you are looking for a monitor for console gaming definitely get this one! Major League Gaming uses it and for 180$, a monitor with 2ms response time, 3ms input lag, full HD 1080p, 23 inch 1000:1 static contrast ratio this monitor cannot be passed up! I recommend LCD over LED backlit because for gaming LCD is commonly used and LED backlit tv/monitors are known to have backlight bleed.

The picture quality is very good and the internal speakers work fantastic compared to my last monitor. You won't get the effects of a sub woofer but the sound quality is quite good. The monitor has a small footprint and fits great on a small desktop. All-in-All we are very satisfied and I would recommend this monitor to anyone with no hesitation

What's not so great: Not reliable.
I have had problems for the last two weeks. A box will pop up in the middle of the screen. It is not all the time. But I have changed computers. Still a problem. The manufacture wants me to ship the monitor to them. I will be without a monitor for a couple of weeks. I also have an ASUS tower that I purchased around July 2010 at the Best Buy store in Ankeny Iowa. I am haveing problems with it also. It will not continue runing. I turn it on, but it shuts itself off after a few seconeds
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Was a huge upgrade from my 720p Sony lcd, hdmi did not fill the whole screen however, but dvi worked great.

I needed a bigger monitor for work and this was the best size and quality for the price range. Can't beat the price, and I was very happy when I plugged it in and it looked great. I'll monitor it's performance as time goes on, but it's such an upgrade from what I had (standard issue Dell monitor) that I couldn't ask for much else. As for video and gaming, I don't use it for those purposes, so I can't help you there.

What's great about it: Good Value, Good display.
What's not so great: The buttons feel cheap, not really a complaint though since they won't be used often.
I bought this monitor based on the reviews I read all over the internet from various tech sites. I think this monitor is the best deal around for less than $200. A couple other reviews I've read about this monitor mention a flimsy stand and some issues with dead pixels, but I don't have any of those issues. Nothing mind-blowing about this monitor feature-wise, just a good value. If you're looking for a LCD widescreen for less than $200, your search stops here.
