John Corbett costars as her husband. The show was penned by Oscar-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody ("Juno"), who serves as executive producer with Steven Spielberg. ~ Ray Stackhouse, Rovi The Tudors: The Undoing of Cromwell In the third-season finale, Henry tires of the unattractive and uninteresting Anne of Cleves and takes a mistress, the comely Katherine Howard (Tamzin Merchant), which rekindles his passion. Anne's cousin, a Bavarian prince, arrives at court and sweeps Princess Mary off her feet, but their happiness is short-lived when Henry sends him back to his own country; with his new powers, Brandon accuses Cromwell of being a traitor and has him imprisoned in the Tower of London. ~ Ray Stackhouse, Rovi The Tudors: Protestant Anne of Cleves The King's oppressive measures against the Catholic Church stir grumblings of war with France and Spain; Cromwell prepares arrangements for Henry's fourth marriage, this time to Anne of Cleves (Joss Stone), and Brandon heads to Calais to meet her, only to find that she is plain and unworldly. ~ Ray Stackhouse, Rovi The Tudors: Search for a New Queen With the quest for a new queen underway, a German emissary to the court suggests the King consider the two unmarried sisters of Duke William of Cleves, but Henry shows an inclination to taking a French bride. A number of clerics take exception to the introduction of Henry's "Six Articles of Faith" doctrine; Henry appoints Brandon the King's representative at court on the occasion of Henry's absence. ~ Ray Stackhouse, Rovi The United States of Tara: Aftermath Tara's alternate personality, perfect housewife Alice, steps in to deal with a disagreement between Marshall and his English teacher (Tony Hale), as well as a behavioral problem involving Kate. ~ Ray Stackhouse, Rovi The Tudors: The Death of a Queen Brandon is unsettled by the viciousness and cruelty with which Henry brings an end to the Catholic uprising as the King puts the leaders to death; and, finally, a male heir is born to Henry and his queen, Jane Seymour, who dies shortly after giving birth. ~ Ray Stackhouse, Rovi The Tudors: Dissension and Punishment With Christmas approaching, Henry reconciles with his estranged daughters, Mary and Elizabeth, while betraying promises he made to leaders of the Catholic rebellion. ~ Ray Stackhouse, Rovi The Tudors: The Northern Uprising Henry sends Charles Brandon (Henry Cavill) to deal with the Catholic uprising; and while confined to bed due to an old jousting injury, the King takes a new mistress, Lady Ursula Misseldon (Charlotte Salt). ~ Ray Stackhouse, Rovi The Tudors: Civil Unrest In the third-season opener, Henry VIII takes his third bride, noblewoman Jane Seymour (Annabelle Wallis), in hopes that he will finally have a male heir. Meanwhile, previously loyal subjects in the North take a stand against Henry's anti-Catholic crusade, which includes seizing millions of pounds in monastic wealth; and his new queen champions the cause of returning his estranged daughter, Princess Mary, to court. ~ Ray Stackhouse, Rovi The Tudors: Problems in the Reformation Cromwell sees a number of assassinations strike close to the court, and that they are actually warnings to him; the King meets with a bishop about writing the doctrine of his majesty's Church of England. ~ Ray Stackhouse, Rovi

What's great about it: I love period history and am intrigued with The House of the Tudors
What's not so great: some of the content
I have watched and purchased all three seasons and love the series. I find it educational and very interesting. I found it very interesting learning about how the Protestand Reformation came about since I am of t hat faith. I also found the destruciton of the catholic churches and monesteries appalling.

What's great about it: Continues the historical time line
What's not so great: Writing and character development was not quite as good as 1st two seasons
Season 3 was more of a fill in the blanks in the historical time line and spent most of the time tying up plot lines from the 1st two seasons. Introduced new characters but didn't develop them as well as previous seasons. Overall came across as the "middle act" but with out any great peril other than the main characters are getting old. Rumor is that Season 4 is suppose to be the last season for this series. I hope they really extend the story line to Eliizabeth and Mary and just don't mail in the final season.
