What's not so great: wish did few more his own songs
never saw Paul live so this is good I wish did few more his own stuff but its good he looks real good his age

What's great about it: Fantastically filmed, recorded and edited... Great songs and captures the mood.
What's not so great: Very small complaint the fan film is so-so at best, but I would rather have it then not.
The Best Buy Deluxe version of Good Evening NYC, is the finest cd/dvd McCartney has put out on his own. The video and audio recordings are awesomely produced and edited. Highlights of the DVD and CD are: Only Mama Knows, Let me Roll it (w/ Foxy Lady outro), HIghway, Calico Skies, Sing the Changes, I've got a feeling and Day Tripper! There is just enough mix of Beatles, Wings and solo material. The only song I would nix would be Flaming Pie (and maybe replace it with Juniors Farm or as in the Dallas , Tx show maybe a Buddy Holly Song. I really enjoy the David Letterman portion of the deluxe package, its great to see McCartney really do something out of the normal "pushing" of a new CD. Thumbs up.. Rock On!!

What's great about it: Complete Concert. Sound Quality
Unlike some of the other reviews here done before the release of the CD/DVD this review is on the CD/DVD.
This DVD is an improvement over McCartney's previous live videos like "Back in the US" and "The Space Within Us". "Good Evening New York City" is Paul McCartney's complete concert at Citi Field. No back stage or interview footage between songs ruining the flow of the concert. Not many audience shots which is a plus as well. The sound and picture quality is amazing. No jumpy MTV style camera shots. Finally McCartney has released a concert video that is a complete concert from beginning to end.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I had the privilege to see this man in concert in his Summer Live 09 tour in Boston, MA. Best concert I have EVER attended. If you are a Beatles and/or Wings fan, you MUST get this! Unforgettable concert! Awesome music!

Living in L.A., I didn't have the opportunity to see Paul in New York at Citifield, but I did catch him at Coachella, and let me tell you, it was a once in a lifetime concert, not only for me and the audience, but for Paul as well. I mean, there he was, a Beatle, a living Beatle (!!!), Sir Paul McCartney, playful, inspired, having fun, and playing to an audience that was something different from his usual audience, in that it was tecnically an alt-rock audience. But from the first note to the last, it was special and heartfelt and all of us knew it and felt it. He looked good, sounded great and his band was top notch. The song selection at Coachella was quite similar to what he played at Citifield, so even though I didn't see the concert he played in New York, it was pretty darn close.
Folks, we are SO lucky that Paul is still with us. He's literally living history, a cultural icon, a living embodiment of that magical, musical rush that was the '60's. And at the same time, he's a continuation of the same great classic melodic songwriting we had in people like Cole Porter, who it turns out, Paul aspired to be the rock equivalent of (and who succeeded, as far as I'm concerned.)
As I write this, I'm one day away from the release date, and I can hardly wait. Looking over the song list, this will be a great overview of his career and musical output (though there is SO MUCH MORE to dig into!) For anyone who loves great songwriting and melodious, classic rock, this is your man, and this may well be one of the last best living modern documents of one of the greatest songwriters of all time. Truly. Roll over, Beethoven, indeed!

What's great about it: It was an incredible show. I know, I was there! From start to finish- it was epic. It was like nothing you'll ever see!!
What's not so great: There is nothing that isn't great about this!
I haven't heard the show since the night of but I attended and know for a fact that it was a great show- I can't wait for it to come out on CD/DVD! The sound was there, the croud was the there! It was definitly a once in a lifetime concert experiance and can't even explain it, just get the show! It was like, something that you see on t.v. but you don't see in person, you will enjoy!
I would recommend this to a friend!
