What's great about it: Great picture quality

Bought this for bedroom after major surgery kept me in bed for a month. Thought it would be more convenient to have the dvd built in. Paid 349.99 on sale but now realize I could have bought the same screen for 249.99 or less and added a blue-ray for less total cost. Using an HD tuner the picture is great, but on raw coax cable, this set has issues. The picture is always good or better, but the set does not have an automatic sizing for different formats. The image is either too large, cropping off the edges or too small leaving un-used screen space. The other main issue is the built tuner. For some reason the set suddenly blacks out. While watchng, the set just goes black. Tune up one channel then tune back down and the previous channel come back...for a while. It becomes very annoying when watching sports or drama, when a missed moment destroys the whole thing. Hook it to a separate tuner and the problem goes away. The sound is OK for a set at this price.

What's great about it: value
I purchased this t.v. before the week of thanksgiving 2011 and it was on sale for $269.00 which is a pretty fair price. Easy set up and install. I primarily use it for my computer but also have cable hooked up to it as well. On the cpu side the graphics are amazing. On the t.v. side non hd is blurry. Which is any t.v. nowadays without hd. I never buy the protection plan but i went ahead and bought it for this t.v. since it is a house brand. Wish it had blue ray but not a factor. For what it is this is a fantastic purchase it is used everyday for hours...

Got this unit on sale before Christmas. Wasn't sure of Dynex name but turns out it is Best Buy's sub name. I thought I might need additional speakers but wanted to test the unit in the space I had for it. Brought it home, used the stand and quickly set up the unit. Tested the picture quality and sound (had Avatar DVD) was blown away by picture and sound quality. The image is rich and clean, and sound quality superb. I don't need any additional speakers, which is great. Picture and sound menu has plenty of controls. Highly recommend.

What's not so great: all positives
I chose Best Buy's own brand of TV and it turned out to be a great choice for the bedroom . I was able to set it up myself and call Comcast cable for set up to their system. Works great, good sound and clear picture quality. I am impressed also because this is the first time I have ever set up any system. Thanks Best Buy !

What's great about it: easy set up, good price, good picture, built in DVD=less cords with a wall mount
What's not so great: dvd doesn't retain "memory" if tv is shut off
This is our first flat screen, and we bought it only because we bought a new house and there just wasn't a good place for our old set to sit. We have had this one for two days-we had it hooked up and mounted on the wall the first night. It found more channels than our old set (we haven't gotten cable yet) and has a great, crisp looking picture. Sound is fine for us, it is in our 14' x 20' living room and I had no trouble hearing it. It is viewable well from the side as well, which was important to us as it is on the back wall directly across from one sofa however our second sofa is at a 90 degree angle to that one so it must be viewed from the side if company is over. DVD works well, although it doesn't seem to retain a memory of where you pause if you shut off the set, so plan on either watching the whole movie or remembering where you stopped and using fast forward.

The only downfall is that it has a starnge base to it. Its not straight across like others. it makes your tv look off center on your tv stand.

What's not so great: Should last more than 0ne year before 'crashing'!
The DYNEX I bought, within one year lost total power, picture and sound. It had been fine. According to my calculation the unit (32" LCD/DVD Combo) was still under warrenty. The Best Buy Customer Service said NOT, and would cost $250.00 to repair (66% of the original cost). The store manager said he would give me a discount on a new TV. It could not be repaired by local TV repair people. My experience with Best Buy, the DYNEX TV and their Customer Service, to say the least, was most disappointing!

What's great about it: Good picture, relatively compact, low price
What's not so great: Integral tuner (likely software issue)
Bought this TV to replace an analog TV and for its integral DVD player. DVD player worked great as did the TV initially. The set was connected to raw cable feed (i.e. we do not use a cable box). After a very short time the integral tuner went crazy. It would not retain channel settings nor maintain "Favorite" channel labels. It eventually lost channel programming which required that we go through the 15-20 minute setup procedure again. Returned it for another (same model) which soon developed the same problem. Returned the second unit and exchanged it for a Sony Bravia. Problem solved!

The picture quality is equal to that of my 2 Samsung TVs. I bought this for the built in DVD player and to have in my exercise room. It was a fast set-up and is easy to use. The salesperson knew what I was looking for and was helpful in the decision making.

I bought this TV for my husband for his birthday. He is always watching movies on our kids little portable DVD player. So I thought he would enjoy a big screen with a DVD player on it to enjoy in our bedroom. He was so excited. He never thought I would get rid of our little 19" TV. It does have this white "blob" that is only noticable when you turn the TV off or if the picture is dark. But it is not too bothersome.

I assembled the TV without any trouble. However the TV stand has an awkward angle for the base, after I assembled it. I might have to take it in to Bestbuy and have them look at it--never seen anything like this.
I recommend this set for purchase. I like the built-in DVD player; it plays everything. Done of the other sets I looked at had that feature, which made it an excellent value purchase. Picture and sound quality are excellent.

Overall, the unit functions properly and on sale was at a great price. However, when it came down to it, it missed certain small features that turned out to be important to me. I returened it and paid a few dollars more for an LED Toshiba model.
First, the picture is adequate, but clearly not as sharp and nice as other units. I tried with only limited success to adjust the setting to improve the color and contrast.
Second, the picture size does not automatically change from wide screen to standard. I had to manually re-size for the channel I was watching.
Third, and a feature I did not think of at the time of purchase, but really ended up being a deal killer for me involves the DVD player. I used this unit in the bedroom and would watch a DVD movie in several installments over multiple nights. If you switch this unit off, it returns to the start of the DVD, rather than keeping track of where you left off. This was an annoyance that I personally could not bear.
Best Uses: Casual User (mostly watch TV shows)
