SynopsisDisney Epic Mickey is an action-adventure platforming game for the Wii console that sends Mickey Mouse on an epic journey of creativity and discovery. As Mickey, the player is propelled into Wasteland, an alternate world made up of Disney's forgotten creative efforts, and is given the power to wield paint and paint thinner to dynamically change the world while determining Mickey's path to becoming an epic hero. Through the use of unique paint and paint thinner, the key components of animation and Mickey's tools for impacting his world, players will have the ability to shape how the story unfolds as they discover the concept of "Playstyle Matters" — an innovative style of gameplay created by Disney Interactive Studios' Junction Point, led by industry luminary Warren Spector, where players creatively tackle different challenges in the world to explore all the possibilities and storylines — but with consequences for their chosen actions.

What's great about it: Easy to play and start!
We enjoy playing role playing games, and we love most things Disney. This game combines both, and can be played for children as young as 6 to as old as seniors.

What's great about it: The graphics are really cool, but that is all it offers.
What's not so great: It is too complicated to play!
This got such great reviews, I almost bought it last year for $50. Glad I waited until it came down this Christmas. It proves to be too complicated for my 7 year old and even my 12 year old gets bogged down in parts! I thought it would be one of their favorites, but it just sits with the other games that are too hard or too easy for them. At first, it wouldn't even load and kept telling us to update our system. When we did it several times, it finally loaded. Unfortunately, we were disappointed in the game.

This game covers the disney park is a dark way. Something new maybe not for little kids and the game play is hard. Game is very long which is great because once you start playing this you will find it hard to put down.

What's great about it: Adventurous
What's not so great: Challenging to learn game rules
This was a gift for my 9 year old son who thinks this game is adventurous and fun. I noticed it was difficult for him to learn the game rules when he first started the game but now he really enjoys the storyline and objectives. There is some violence so I would caution against very young players playing this. The optional Paint Brush Controller is not needed, the standard Wii controller works just fine - save your money.

What's great about it: It's still Disney at the end of the day.
What's not so great: It doesn't seem like how it was portrayed in commercials.
I'm not giving a lower review because the game itself is bad, but I don't think it lives up to how it's portrayed on the commercials. You would think a Mickey game would be great for younger people, but it was actually kind of confusing awkward even for me (and I'm 24 years old)..having to remember to use primer and things like that are kind of weird to me in a Disney video game..there are still a lot of cute parts though.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's not so great: some moving graphics can make you dizzy
Don't start this game unless you have lots of time to spend! Graphics are excellent. I like that you can play and play, there is no "Game over". However, there are lives and once all are lost, you restart at your current start point. Lots of hidden items. Suggest going online for game outline and cheat sheets.

What's great about it: open game play
What's not so great: difficult cam centering.
the game is simple enough for for an inexperienced player to pick up and have fun, and in depth enough to keep a veteran gamer like myself, entertained for hours. the open game play and side quest objectives allow you to potentially spend several hours in one area searching for all the collectibles, but they are not required to complete the game so if you wanted, you could skip all the side missions and finish the game in just under three hours (if you have played threw at least once and know ware your going.)
Also, the game allows you to choose a "morality" to your actions. depending on weather you choose to use the paint or thinner, determines the amount of reserve of what you choose to use as well as effects certain parts of the story line of the game.
all in all, i very much enjoyed this game. the replay value is very high due to the side objectives and collectibles. i will and have suggested this game to my friends and to anybody else who enjoys playing games.

I've never been into video games. They tend to loose their charm after a couple levels, but I really enjoy playing the Epic Mickey. It's familiarity and revival of old cartoon favorites along with many side challenges is a lot of fun.

What's not so great: Learning curve, adjustment period
Frustrating at first, but it grows on you. Was looking forward to this game for a long time. The camera was initially a problem, as it made some tasks difficult, and the nature of some levels was irritating as I adjusted to the new gameplay style.
Then you get into the story, the lore, the background.... It's all good.
The game is not perfect, but it's far better than most. And it has Oswald.
I would recommend this to a friend!
