If you want to cool down you heating CPU it does a good job, but it has too much compound in it for one CPU, so I'm not sure whether the extra compound will last till I need it next time...! (Reduce capacity of the compund = low cost)

What's great about it: Nothing
What's not so great: Poorly made, lack of QA, breaks-down under heat.
The Dynex Thermal Paste (a.k.a TIM paste) is very poor. I ran out of Arctic Silver while water blocking two ATI HD 7970’s using EK Full-COver Waterblocks. The paste broke down due to GPU normal operation (not overclocked) and poured down my graphics card onto my motherboard
( I have a custom horizontal mount) during operation. If you want to increase your longevity and ROI do not ever skimp on thermal paste. Stay with Arctic Silver brand as Arctic Silver has many types depending on your needs.

Sadly, I couldn't find anything better locally... A bit too expensive for its quality. Sadly, the previous one I bought I left it back in Ecuador, some 8hr flight from here, but I needed some immediately which is why I got it.
It works ok... But it's not the best you can get. Something is better than nothing, so it's good they had it.

I bought this thing for my Xbox 360 but its just the worst thing to go with. It just won't stick on CPU and GPU. And you can't make contact between heatsinks and CPUs to keep it cold. Wonder why they sell something like this

What's great about it: None
What's not so great: Inefficient and expensive.
I bought this for my quad core processor and it does not conduct heat as good as my original thermal compound that came with my system. The operating temperature was higher, the compound was watery, and it comes in a small amount. I don't recommend this product at all!

What's not so great: Price
Bought it in Best Buy Rio Hondo for $12 (pretty steep). At first the temperatures were at 62c, but after some time it stays at 51-55c. Might be a little too high, but that's probably because of my stock CPU Cooler.

What's great about it: Works well, prevents overheating
What's not so great: Pricey, should be a bit thicker
I purchased this paste when I bought a new cpu fan/heatsink from bestbuy. My first impression was "dang this is a small tube." You only get 5 grams, but you don't need to use much for it to be effective. The paste is a bit runny, but if you allow it to sit for a few seconds before placing the heatsink on it will cure a bit but still spread evenly. I also used this paste on my GPU which was overheating and failing. Before I idled at ~ 65 deg. C with the fan running at ~50% but now I idle at ~45deg. C with the fan at only 39%. I have not had it overheat since applying this paste. Thermal compound is very important to prevent heat issues, and even though Best Buy would benefit by having other types, Dynex Thermal Compound works quite well.

What's great about it: Cheaper than other products, might work for some applications
What's not so great: Runny, doesn't really work
Got this to fix the heatsink in my laptop. It is much more thin than other products out there. It didn't stay on the processor where I placed it, making it useless. My laptop continued to overheat. I bought a different product which was much more thick and worked perfectly the first try. I would avoid this brand and look into other brands.

What's great about it: Works as advertised.
What's not so great: BestBuy's price.
I own one of the older laptops (Dell M1530) with an NVidia processor at the heart of the over-heating lawsuit. Lately, my GPU temp climbed above 100deg during gaming and hovered in the low 70's while browsing the net-even with the fan running at level 2. When the GPU temp jumps above 85+ and CPU hits 80+, the CPU clock drops to 800MHz rendering most games unplayable.
My laptop is still under extended warranty, but I wanted to try cleaning the cooling fan, cooling fins and re-applying new thermal paste. The fan and fins were only slightly dusty. I scraped off the excessively thick , hard paste; thoroughly cleaned the heat sink, CPU and GPU with isopronal; and re-applied Dynex. I rate the paste consistency as a cross between elmers glue and Closeup gel toothpaste. (No issues with the application process.)
In the first game of SC2 running via WINE, the temp never exceeded 76deg and was playable from start to finish! Browsing temps have dropped below 60deg. When the temp climbs to upper 60s, the fan steps up to 2nd level and the temp drops immediately. (With Dell BIOS version A12, the fan always run at low level or higher.)
I cannot not compare to other brands (other than online prices), but Dynex sure seems to be working for me.
I will try to remember report back in a few month to comment on "durability".

What's great about it: Easy to apply, comes with a spreader...
What's not so great: Price, better performance can be gotten from AS5 which is the same price as this...
I have had some experience working with this paste. I would say that you can get paste that is both cheaper and better elsewhere (I.E. Arctic Silver 5 costs as much as this and works better then this). This was however easy to apply to what I have used it on... I wish BestBuy would carry Arctic Silver 5 or AS Cremique, which I would highly recommend...

What's great about it: You get a decent amount for the price... about half the price for the same amount of Arctic Silver.
What's not so great: The new silicone based formula is worse than the old silver based stuff.
I have been using the Dynex paste for around two years now. About two years ago, this compound was made by a different manufacturer. The syringe had a small blue rubber cap on it, and the packaging included a blue credit card-like spreader card. This compound actually seemed like silver based compound, and was very easy to spread(it's important to have a thin coat when applying this stuff) This stuff performed very well, even on highly overclocked CPUs. But earlier this year, Dynex changed a lot of their products, including this thermal compound. Now the paste isn't even silver based. It is a silicone-based solution that reminds me of Elmers Glue in terms of it's viscosity. The new solution is a bit runny, and can be messy. Thermal performance is okay, but I don't think it is as good as the older stuff. I still purchase it and use it, however I'd like for the old stuff to be back.

What's great about it: Easy to apply/spread
What's not so great: It runs off easily and does not perform (CPU over heats)
I was installing two new processors and the thermal paste I ordered did not arrive. I bought this Dynex white silicone thermal compound from Best Buy because it was convenient. It has a low viscosity, It applies easy enough and has a small plastic spatula for spreading it. The problem is when you install the heat sink/cooler it pushes the Dynex paste to the sides and and it tends to run onto your mother board and even into the CPU socket.
The worst part is it does not perform well. My processor is overheating. Look for a paste that has actual silver in it (Artic Silver 5) as the thermal conductivity is much better (short of the ultra-expensive crushed diamond based stuff).
Hope this helps!

What's great about it: Does its job well
What's not so great: Consistency
I bought this in tandem with the Rocketfish Universal CPU Cooler, and it works very well for its cost. If you are familiar with Arctic Silver 5 or their Ceramique thermal compound line this isn't really the same granted its more inexpensive but it doesnt really have the same consistency that you'd think it would have.
Like the earlier reviewer said its kind of runny like Elmer's glue, just be sure not to add too much (I had to add extra to fill the gaps in the rocketfish cooler) and you'll be alright. Also comes with a spreading tool.

What's great about it: dropped my amd sempron temp by 3 degrees.it does include a tool to spread the thermal compound
What's not so great: its a little messy but all thermal compound is.lol
i used heavy load v2.4 and speedfan v4.40 to load and monitor the temps i ran heavy load for 5 minutes with some cheap radio-shake thermal compound and the ran it again for 5 minutes and the first run was 87 degrees at idle and 100 degrees at load for 5 minutes.with the DYNEX silverthermal compound it was idle at 84 degrees then after five minutes it was at 97 degrees.so i would definitely say paying $9.99 for this is much better then $3.99 for the cheap stuff. this was on a 1.81 AMD SEMPRON processor.
