There's a bar that pushes into your lower back depending on how you sit. If I sit just right the chair is ok for me. My husband won't sit in it anymore.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: Nice cushioning and tilts back.
What's not so great: Static producing fabric--not good when you are working on electronics!
Purchased as a gift for my husband. He likes the comfort level, but worries about static, so he added a grounding wire to it! I looked at a lot of chairs before deciding, and I believe it is a good value for the money.
I would recommend this to a friend!
