What's great about it: Excellent color, brightness, and text is clear and crisp!
What's not so great: Buttons could be better.
I was looking for a better monitor after my disappointment in trying the Dell S2230MX. This monitor is everything that one is not! Excellent color and brightness, and text is crisp and clear! In fact at this point I may like Asus better than Samsung.
Putting it together is as easy as snapping the base in and it's ready. The ports are facing down so it can easily be mounted on the wall. The buttons are not as easy to use as on other monitors but that's fine. It does tilt though. (If you ever want to confirm features that people talk about then just download the manuals found on the manufacturers website!) No swivel like what is found on more expensive monitors but you can just move the base.
Out of the box using my Nvidia video card control panel and an ICM color profile, settings needed little if any tweaking. It has 5 preset modes which look great.
While it is not 1080p resolution, the 1080p content I played looked excellent in Quicktime and VLC.

Although this monitor is below the typical 1080p HD standard, it's a fantastic monitor. Sitting next to a much higher priced model from a different manufacturer, the clarity and vibrance outperforms the other monitor. The cons are a lack of swivel/tilt adjustments and that it's not a 1080p monitor. Other than that, the VW224U is an amazing product.
