This was the first dishwasher that I ever purchased and I have been amazed along with other reviewers how quiet the dishwasher runs. I would highly recommend this dishwasher.

What's great about it: So quiet!
We have had our new GE dishwasher for a few weeks now. I am AMAZED at how quiet the unit is! We have a very small house, and the kitchen is open to the living room. We can actually hear the TV now while the dishes are being washed. So far- -so good!
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Quiet, it cleans and dishes are mostly dry
What's not so great: only small complaint is the locking mechanism; it makes a loud click noise
I am very happy with this purchase. I can load this machine up and everything comes out clean and mostly dry. The silverware holder is along the side which allows more room for other dishes. Both top and bottom racks are deep. And the top rack also slants slightly so the water doesn't sit on top of the glasses and mugs. Its probably in the mid level range of quiet but I have an open kitchen/living room and doesn't bother me at all. Highly recommend.

What's great about it: QUEIT!!! Gets my dishes clean
What's not so great: a little more than i wanted to spend
We got this machine because it was supposed to be quiet – something our old Hotpoint (you know, the cheap-o appliances that come with cheap houses) was not. The old machine was so loud that had trouble watching TV while it was on. Let’s just say we were pleasantly surprised. The new GE is quieter than my air conditioner. Yes, I mean I could actually hear the air blowing through the ducts louder than I could hear the dishwasher. And of course it gets the dishes clean too!! Another bonus is that this new machine matches the color of the other appliances in the kitchen, black and stainless.
