What's great about it: Great moonflower and strobe effect. Easy to use. Plug and play.
What's not so great: No light controls. No mic sensitivity. Only plug and play.
As a beginning DJ, I bought this as my first light. The effects are good and I enjoy it. The moonflower operates slowly when no music is playing. Once the music is on, the effects speed up and the strobe operates intermittenly. The downside to this light is that there are no controls to this light. You plug the light in and it does what it wants. The light will be on until you unplug it. Your only control is the strobe light. You can turn it on or off. I just wish it had a mic sensitivity control. If it did, I would give it a full 5 stars.
Overall, it's still a good light. I don't recommend it to anyone who wants any form of control of thier lights.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: amazing light show worth more that what it cost
this is an amazing piece of equipment. for the price you get an amazing light show out of this piece if your doing a small layout one of theses will cover a large amount of the floor. if you looking for a larger show two of these will be a great center piece. to any effect you are looking to achieve.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Bright, Sound Active, Overall Decent Price for a 2in1 LED+Strobe
What's not so great: Strobe could be brighter, watching one go off looks something like a very bright camera flash from a camera.
This unit is actually smaller than I thought it was going to be. There is no ON/OFF switch in the back, to turn it on and off you have to be running it on a switcher or just unplug the power cable from the unit. There is however a ON/OFF switch for the strobe effect, if you don't want it going off anymore. Very nice and bright moonflower spread in RGB. Strobe is a little weak but i have two of these set up on either end of the T-Stand so when both of them go off its pretty sweet.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Very impressive by its self, even better in pairs. Bright and wide coverage.
What's not so great: Not DMX controllable
Really liked the color intensity and spead across a room. Great for wedding receptions. Looks especially nice when mounted vertically and crossed with a second unit. Strobe is not over used when on. Wish there was a DMX version but still this unit does very well in its sound active mode.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: I like the dual effects
What's not so great: Strobe effect could be a little brighter
American DJ has been around a long time. I have been using their lighting for many years and as long as you take care of them, they take care of you. All the new L.E.D. lighting coming out is amazing, big light show with little power consumption.
I would recommend this to a friend!
