What's great about it: Plug and play with Network Magic
What's not so great: Gets a bit too warm for my comfort, keep in ventilated area!
We have a very large home network of over 18 devices. ALL wired with multiple firewalls. We do not like wireless for obvious reasons. However when I got my wife her Kindle I was not prepared to deal with a WiFi only access required and as a result I was dissappointed that the Kindle could not download via USB connection. So I bought this against my better judgement as I really don't like the slow speeds of wireless compared to wired and the whole security thing...ID theft sucks! We use Pure Networks program Network Magic to run our network which has: 3 Windows XP computers, 2 Windows 7 computers, 1 Wii, 1 PS3, 1 Google TV, One Sony Smart TV, 6 Ext WD multiple terra byte hard drives, one network cloud drive and multiple bluetooth access points for our smart phones plus 1 Verizon Network Extender. There is more but you get the idea. I plugged in the unit which is made by the same folks who make Network Magic (Cisco# and what do you know, it worked flawlessly. Give the permissions to the network, set up a password and even if I only want a quick download of a book or an update or app, when I'm done just unplug it from the switch...like duh...you can't hack what is NOT connected. The system/software remembers the settings and with a one second plugin my wife is up in a flash. Safe, secure, simple for the tech challenged and well worth the money. We get great range and faster than expected downloads. The trick for us is the network software we use that is very, very cheap, about $50 and it fixes anything wrong with your network automatically. When we have a network problem it is ALWAYS from the line in, NOT our system as the software troubleshoots for us every possible setting and piece of equipment in the network. It is Dummy Proof. So those that condem this unit as less than stellar might be a little off the mark or at least have a home network that is too hard to configure mannually. I believe that keeping as much of our system uniform including the software to run it within the same brand Cisco/Linksys is why it works so well for us. Trying to make 5 different brands of router, switch, modem, run on 3 different versions of Windows was nearly impossible. For what it is worth outside of the unit feeling a bit hot to the touch most of the time it has worked flawlessly since X-mas 2011. For those of us technoligically challenged #and paranoid# this is what we did to get this access point to work easily and without any issues, at least on a Kindle. #Be nice this is my first review)

What's great about it: It's very pretty and easy to set up.
What's not so great: It doesn't work reliably and needs a major firmware upgrade.
Don't let the Cisco name fool you, this is not what you want to buy. It worked--very often. Then I'd start getting irate calls from a testy guy on the network I maintain, who relies on the connection for work.
For some reason I haven't found an inexpensive AP that I like, even though I finally went with D-Links. They have their own problems: they don't seem to do mixed-mode, "G" and "N" very reliably, but they work great in "N" exclusively. And their interface is ugly orange, with grammatical errors, but they work great generally.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's not so great: Does not work without turning off security
Access point was easy to setup. Then the fun began. Laptop connected fine, my DROID X connected fine, but customers iPhone and HTC DROID would connect but could not get on the internet. There is apparently a known issue with these WAPs that for some devices you have to turn off security to get DHCP to assign an address. Not functional at all.
