What's great about it: Its capablities to use dvds,ipod,usb, sd card
What's not so great: picture quality from and angle and no case to put on head rest
I bought this because of the sd card and usb ipod dvd combo capability, It seemed to work great for this but then you have to watch the dvd straight on if you turn a little to the right left up or down you cant see well. Its different from lcd which allows you to view descent from and angle. The other thing is it is nearly impossible to find a case for it to go on your car head rest, I orginally bought it for my kid to watch dvds etc in the car, but could not end up finding the case to hang from the headrest, will probably return :-/

I purchased this portable DVD player because we travel across country with two small children every year. I thought for long flights, this would be a great item. It only worked once. We went to CA then Hawaii and it worked fine. On the way back, it stopped working. It now will not charge, so it only works when plugged into an outlet. I cannot adjust the sound unless I use the remote. I would not purchase this again; it was a total waste of money. And, I'm sure to get it fixed would cost more than purchasing a new one. Iluv should either extend the warranty or make a better product. I am really disappointed.

What's great about it: portablity
What's not so great: screen scratches, no rewriteable dvd
If you can handle this delicatley the screen scratches really easy. It doesn't read rewriteable dvd's. Other than that it's Great to watch movies on DVD and Ipod format.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Great price, love the media options.
What's not so great: Screen scratches easily.
My 2 and 4 year old love these dvd/ipod players. They are great, easy to use and nice to have different options (dvd/ipod/etc). The only thing is that the screens do scratch easily, so I bought the screen protectors which help a lot. They are kind of hard to get all the bubbles out when you put them on, but the kids don't seem to mind. OVerall, I love this product and would absolutely recommend it!!!
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Very easy to set up, Stylish, Built in battery, Remote
What's not so great: No A/V output
The new iLuv player is a great little portable player. The aesthetic design is top of the line for its class. This device is easy to use by simply plugging an iPod into the hidden dock, locked inside the unit, or by inserting a thumb drive or SD card into the side. The picture is outstanding, and having a full function remote that even adjusts volume and controls power is a huge plus. The built in rechargeable battery is very convenient, and seems to hold a charge for the duration of a full length movie, with some left over. That could be a problem later, when it stops hold a charge as well, but then there is always the car adaptor or ac plug, which most players are limited to from the start. I love the easy to navigate menu, with jump back "home" button to easily start over and select a different media source.
All in all, it is a great player, and I'm happy with my purchase.

It arrive with a dead pixel. Audio is not very loud and viewing angle is very small. I returned for a refund the next day.

What's great about it: Reasonable price and great features. Perfect for those long car trips or your office.
What's not so great: Case picks up fingerprints like crazy.
Pro's: Plays from DVD/ipod/memory card/USB. Charges your ipod. Comes with
both AC and DC adapters. Dual heap hone jacks. Does have built in speakers.

Cons: Built in battery. Not an issue with a new model but MAY become and issue over time.
Needs better support (in the manual, over the phone or internet) for EXACTLY what formats are supported for playback via memory card and USB. The manual is very unclear and internet support was little help. .MPG's work fine via the memory card and USB slots, but there are other/better formats than .mpg out there. It would be helpful to know EXACTLY how to format for these other formats for use with the iLuv i1166. Picking at nits? Maybe. But it would be nice. I still think it is a great product.
